Love this little store along with the owners Mr and Mrs Lee. It’s not your typical convenience store, they offer high quality item. Large variety of organic meals, crackers cookies, cheeses as well as a good selection of wine. For a tiny store they have a lot of stuff including tennis balls to use at across the street.

I live in the area and can say that it’s great to have Home Food Store in the neighborhood. Mr. & Mrs. Lee have been running the place forever and, as the other reviewers have noted, are some of nicest people around. I have gotten to know them a little bit and have had many conversations with them about what’s going on in the neighborhood. They’ve also given me a free package of nuts or granola bars on multiple occasions. One of the reasons that I have to limit the number of times I walk my dogs in their direction is that Mr. Lee has been known to spoil them with dog treats.
Given the amount of space that they have, I continue to be surprised with what they are able to have in stock. Horseradish? Check. Hot dog buns? Check. Limes? Check. One time I came in looking for string. They didn’t have any that they were selling, but Mrs. Lee was more than happy to give me some extra string for free that she just happened to have around that day. Their beer selection is also actually quite good, and they usually have a pretty good selection of seasonal beers around throughout the year.

I love this place, and I must admit the owners have a lot to do with it. Mr. and Mrs. Lee are some of the nicest, hardest working people I know — particularly Mrs. Lee. She is always behind the counter with a smile on her face. Sometimes she gives me free pieces of fruit and it absolutely makes my day. Occasionally, after drinking in the neighborhood, I’ll bump into Mr. Lee smoking a cigarette outside of the store. I’ll sometimes stop and have one with him, and each time the conversation is priceless. I HIGHLY recommend doing so– you will be entertained, he is hilarious.
I’ve been going to the store for about two years now and, although I can usually get wine or beer for slightly less a few blocks down the street, I plan on continuing to go here. It is a treasure of the neighborhood, and I enjoy supporting the family. PLUS they have a great beer selection considering the size of the store, something that Mr. Lee prides himself on.

The owners of this store are fantastic. My husband and I have been frequenting them as long as we’ve been living down the street. They totally know us now and are very sweet.
The store is tiny, but carries a range of beer and wine, beverages, cooking basics and cleaning supplies. They also have a small collection of over the counter drugs and candy.
