Hands down the the best sushi in Georgetown. The service was fast and the food was great. The pricing was very good and overall I had a great time. I highly recommend it and hope to go back.

I came here specifically to try their ramen after seeing it listed on Brightest Young Things’s Best Ramen in DC. I ordered the Shoyu ramen with Pork Belly(and no bean sprouts). The best part about this ramen was the noodles– they were perfect. Everything else was okay. The broth was too weak for my taste and the green beans didn’t really fit with the dish. Overall, I didn’t particularly like the ramen.

Very disappointing. I remember this sushi place was much better five years ago. Granted, we came on a Sunday, which is the worst day for sushi and leftovers mostly. We really felt it in the rolls we ordered. Kanya, spicy yellowtail, spicy scallop rolls were chewy and fatty left over fish pieces. The salmon and yellowtail sushi were amazing though! No consistency. The complimentary hot green tea is legit like a true sushi place. Also, shiitake miso soup is a lie. Basically miso soup from a packet with sliced shiitake thrown on top. I really wanted to like you hashi! But sadly overpriced and subpar sushi.

Small and simple. Price is up to personal preference I just got the so Cali roll and tamago. I judge a place depending on their sweet egg. Personal favorite. A little pricey for that but overall quaint and somewhat quick. You’ll miss it if not paying attention. Food did taste fresh

My go to sushi place in Georgetown. I’ve been to kintaro several times but hashi’s service and atmosphere are enough to have me coming back over anywhere else. Love the crusty Philly roll, the Washington, the seared tuna tapas; haven’t tried the Ramen here cause it seems there are only meat options. Complementary hot green tea, the soju cocktails are tasty, I’ve never had a problem with this place.

I’ve been going here around 3 years because of the convenience and the rolls seem to be getting smaller and smaller. The quality is pretty good but for the price and size of the rolls, I’d recommend trying a different place.

Don’t come for the service, but sushi is good, tataki tuna good but a small portion, ambience = Korea town. Prices reasonable

When you first walk in it smells strong of pork. If you can get past that the vegetarian soups are really delicious. The first floor is not spacious. But there is an Upstairs level you can ask to be seated at. The price is not cheap, so bring yuppie credit card.

I’ve been going to Hashi for the last 6 years or so. I’ve had basically everything on the menu so I’m going to do an overall review of food, décor, and service. The first thing you notice is that the restaurant has a small, narrow entrance giving off a hole in the wall vibe; it makes you very hopeful for the interior since many of the best sushi restaurants in the world are small and focus more on their food. True to expectations, the interior is small BUT also has an upstairs area that is much larger. This allows the restaurant to cater to both casual diners and large parties. Furthermore, the sushi chefs work at the bar allowing patrons to have an immediate view of their cuisine’s preparation. The fish is fresh and tasty. Instead of super thin slices of sashimi, they cut them into thicker rectangles allowing for more of a burst of flavor in each bite. Sushi is excellent as well; same freshness delicately placed on top of the perfect amount of rice. They have a number of plates and entrees, but I’ll discuss the udon and ramen since those seem to be the most mainstream choices. Both of these dishes are large and meant to be shared even though the price suggests that it is a 1-person order. The udon usually comes with egg in it giving it more depth to the flavor and the noodles are cooked VERYSLIGHTLY al dente; this is a unique method and approach to udon that I first experienced at Hashi but it’s something that I really enjoy. The broth is nice and flavorful and if you get the tempura on top, it just adds that much more to the experience. The ramen is somewhere in between Japanese and Korean. It brings the authentic, home-cooked brothiness of Japanese ramen but adds vegetables and Korean style pork belly to really knock it out of the park. Again, this is large and is a plate that can most definitely be shared amongst 2 people. The interior is clean and maintenance seems to be well sustained as well. As you know, a clean interior and working space often translates into fresh, clean tasting food and Hashi is no exception; never in my experience at Hashi have I had any problem with cleanliness. Keep in mind that that the waiters and waitresses are often of Asian descent; I believe Hashi does this to try and truly deliver an experience that is a small piece of Japan in Georgetown. Once in a blue moon, they might not quite understand specifics of your order but they will ask and clarify it again to ensure that they deliver exactly what you expect and beyond. Signs of great service. Bottom line: Go, enjoy, and make sure your mouth is prepared for the wonderful experience.

Sometimes you do things to keep the outing mood happy. According to my Unilocalerizing expertise, I wanted to go Capitol Hill area as they have great sushi in D.C. But my friend, who I haven’t seen in years, insisted on coming to Georgetown area. It’s a wonderful area for taking a walk and catching up with good ol’ friends. Service was great in this place. Everybody was welcoming and smily. Atmosphere was nicely quiet. We sat by a window table on the second floor. Hot green tea was served in drab cups. Taste was too grassy and pungent. Sushi, sashimi and rolls were average. We almost tried everything they have, including octopus, hamachi, eel, tuna, salmon, snapper, ikura, uni, and many others. Uni and seared salmon were the best. The rest were just lackluster. Maybe after San Francisco and Maine, I became a seafood/sushi snob. With good company, almost any restaurant or coffee place would be great.

Great sushi and equally great ramen. Hidden gem for sure. Curry ramen was very good and so was the salmon crunch roll. Consistently good place.

This is the second Japanese place I went to in Georgetown area, hoping the area would redeem after my first Jpnse-Thai place visit. Seriously, D.C. does not know Japanese food, or perhaps the clientele who hang out in Georgetown area. The ramen had STRINGBEANS, weird veggies, and chunky pork for the pork shoyu ramen… seriously? DEFINITELY not Japanese… also the sprouts were not fresh(black, dead ends). Sushi… tried the Washington and Capitol rolls… I say skip. I see places trying to get fancy with different«cooked» toppings… again, these rolls are really tiny and serving carpaccio-sliced fish if any… Overall, this place makes the first place feel like a four…

Good sushi place in Georgetown. Tried the seaweed salad, avocado salad, spicy tuna roll, and a couple other rolls. Okay wine. Service, food, décor– all 3 stars. All good, but nothing extraordinary.

My baby brother requested to go to Hashi after his graduation, and as a fellow Japanese person who shares 50% of my genes, I fully expected to have my mind blown. Sadly, the food was mediocre at best. We ordered a shoyu and miso ramen as well as a couple of sushi rolls. The sushi rolls were good but nothing to write home about and the ramen was downright subpar. The spicy pork belly shoyu ramen was decent, but the miso ramen left a lot to be desired. Even after doctoring it up with chili powder and soy sauce, I couldn’t manage to finish eating it. The prices are affordable but I’m not sure I will be back.

Green ice cream was good. My friends said the Sushi was delicious. The waiter memorized our order for seven people! Amazing! The upstairs was a nice open space with plenty of room for all of us. I would recommend this place.

Waitress had the nerve to ask me to «please leave the restaurant» after asking for MORE tip(on top of 15%) as I was walking out. I gave her more than she asked and continued to explain to her why the service was substandard and why I ‘only’ tipped her 15% only to be ushered down a steep flight of stairs. A few dissatisfactory points: –waitress burst the quail yolk on uni before serving. I should not receive a plate with two sushi and raw quail yolk running all over it –different uni than the first time I ordered(see my picture) –large inedible pieces of cabbage rind in broth(larger than a credit card) –my napkin was wet before I even sat down. waitress assured me it was clean and the table had just been cleaned –spots on water glass

Had sushi here last night, not bad for a random craving and hitting the closest one to our location. We ordered the ramen, which was just ok, having both been to Tokyo, chicken was bland and seemingly overcooked/chewy. Sushi, however, was good. We ordered the Hashi roll and yellowtail volcano(it REALLY is spicy, not for the weak at heart!). Will definitely be back if in Georgetown and craving sushi(not ramen)!

2.5 I have eaten here a couple times now. The first time, good food, great lunch — decent meal for the money. The second time, not so much. My cousin and I both had low-average meals and left unsatisfied. So, good days, bad days — average at best. The location is great. The setting is intimate. The service was OK. Not really enough to carry a restaurant these days, but I don’t know that I would return willingly. #1005

Hashi Sushi is cute, but not amazing. I’ve had a select amount of their sushi over a couple of visits, and I can say I enjoyed it, but not immensely so. The sushi is tasty, fresh, and very clearly made in front of you — the place is tiny, so you can see virtually everything. A lot of effort went into making sure we were well served, which I enjoyed. Still, the sushi wasn’t mind-blowing, so there are unquestionably better places to in DC if you’re willing to pay more. Also, this place is quite legit — all staff appear to be native Japanese.

We came upon this place after a wonderful night of socializing and ahem… drinks. I wanted a tiny snack just to keep me awake! The sign on the outside seemed so inviting! Sushi was ‘ok’. It was made fresh. I usually just order vegetarian or something that is cooked. Their salmon skin roll was tasty, but the skin may have been a tad over-done. The tempura roll sushi had good flavor but not sure why my rice kept falling apart. We also ordered a small tempura appetizer: sweet potato, white potato and zucchini circle(2 of each). It was not the finely fried goodness that I am accustomed to but hey, it was later in the evening. My plus one ordered their beef ramen. He said the flavor was just lacking but the portion size was spot on. Service was good, location, just across the street from Georgetown Parking. They are open until 10ish…
