Obviously the chocolate is good, it’s Godiva! Duh! and for such a small and odd location there’s always plenty to choose from. I have always found the service here pleasant and patient. I don’t know how they can be so nice all the time given that the location is frequently walked through by people at union station to go from one hall to another to access gates to the trains. But then again, they work in a chocolate shop so I would be happy all day long too.(This also could be seen as a brilliant marketing strategy because who but the strong few can resist not stopping to ogle at the truffles and chocolate covered strawberries?!) Only complaint is that it can get crowded in this little shop and you might be afraid to turn quickly lest you knock over a stack of boxed truffles.

Make sure not to accidentally walk through this store while trying to cross from one side of Union Station to the other. You will be verbally assaulted by the clerks behind the counter. If you don’t want people to walk through your shop, then post a sign by the door asking of said courtesy or close certain doors so it doesn’t appear like any other breezeway inside the building. Please do not bark at people as if they are below you. Rant over.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The chocolates are super tasty! One can tell the difference between their chocolates and the very best handmade chocolates, although they are still great. Join the Godiva club for amazing samples!

Friday, 16 November 2012, approximately 6:15PM. I breeze through this Godiva on my way home(the store is open on both sides and located in the main juncture of Union Station). I’m nearly out of the mall when it occurs to me that I’m being followed. My pursuer, a tall blonde, looks at me reproachfully and says: «Be careful when you walk through Godiva.» and then she leaves. Bewildered and worried, I follow her back — did she observe someone trying to pickpocket me? Do I look like her ex’s new girlfriend? Is she warning me not to step on her chocolate-covered turf? — and discover she’s an employee, quite possibly the manager. I ask if I can help her. She shoos me out, saying everything is fine and that I can leave. My polite pleas for an explanation are refused. She is clearly agitated. Indeed, be careful when you walk through Godiva, because the bizarre and unbalanced staff might stalk you. I’m considering another deadbolt on my front door just in case.

Stopped here while on our way to the Capitol building tour. Located on the lower floor inside the Union Station, this store is not huge but it does carry all the chocolate delights offered by Godiva. As always the staff behind the counter was super nice and I was able taste some samples and ended up buying a small bag of truffles.

What do you feed a Snorlax? YOUFEED A SNORLAXCHOKWIT. Stopped by with Kat for the morsel of the month. Willy Wonka would be proud with their space efficiency, it’s one of the smallest Godiva boutiques I’ve seen but as a pit stop on the way down to the Metro it’s a nice enough treat. The guy behind the counter was a bit too enthused to see us, but it worked to our advantage since we both got samples of their chocolate bark when only one of us was registered for the rewards club at the time. Sweet without being too cloying, and just the right amount of nuttiness studded in.

Who doesn’t love chocolate? Everyone loves it, right? We also all know that Godiva is top tier chocolate, and this little store tucked into Union Station doesn’t disappoint. We stopped in here after dinner for a sweet snack. They use every available square inch of this place to display something chocolate related. The two ladies who were working here were extremely nice and helpful. We ended up getting some melt-in-your-mouth chocolate truffles. The chocolate was wonderful, as you’d expect, but the above average service made this place even better.
