From his growing hands to his loving personality, he is the best! From our consult I knew I had found someone who understands the beauty in providing service, care and love to you and your hair. My hair was super damaged by the time I found him, and now I whip it back and forth with pride! Derek and Henny (his assistant who will wash your hair to perfection, those who dont smoke will require a smoke afterwards!) are simply the best thing for hair car in the DMV.

I could not say enough great things about Derek. He was professional, friendly, a great listener, and an exceptional stylist. His assistant, Henny, was sweet and great also.
After a really, really bad chemical process at another salon, Derek was able to correct the damage and gave me a keratin treatment. My hair is healthier, stronger, and more manageable, despite the DC humidity.
Derek paid SO much attention to detail. While I did not need any scissor work, I was there long enough to see him cut and style a few other women – all of them left happy and looking great. Highly recommend him!

Some people are born to do certain things and I believe that Derek was born to be in the customer service realm.
Not only is he exceptionally kind, he appears to have been born to do hair. He customizes the look to fit the person’s face and lifestyle.

Derek has been doing my family’s hair since the 80s! I’ve always felt like he cared most about the health of my hair and whenever I leave his chair I walk out knowing I look good. I rarely ever give him any direction, but he always gives me a style I wish I’d thought to ask for! And its his hair cuts that are flawless! Your hair really grows with the cut and even on the days I dont feel like doing a thing to my hair the amazing cut helps me still look pulled together. I look forward getting the keratin treatment from him, he’s the only one i would trust to do it because he really studies his craft!

This man is AMAZING!!! I would have never thought that my haircut could have been taken to another level but Derek proved me wrong!
