Very cheap regarding the overall prices in DC. Great taste and good service. The fries at 5guys are definitely the best among In-N-out restaurants.

I was just here about a half hour ago and the counter girl(sadly didn’t catch her name) deserves a raise! I had to catch a bus so I asked how long it would take to cook a burger and fries and she made sure I was walking out the door five minutes later. My burger and fries were delicious and perfect, per usual, but the customer service puts this experience over the top. I haven’t been to Five Guys in a few years so I am not sure how new the Lite fry option is but the portion size is basically perfect so I applaud them for adding it to their menu.

Stumbled across this joint while walking around dupont circle while visiting DC from CA. The place is a bit tiny compared to the one in San Jose. or Sunnyvale. Somehow, although I felt hungry at that time, I prefer the one in San Jose or Sunnyvale. They seemed to taste better.

We were visit DC from CA and tried Five Guys in the Dupont neighborhood. Yeah, let’s face it, it is fast food… but really good fast food. The guy who was making up our burger was awesome, chatty and fun. I think he through in a few extra of the home made fries too. For those of you who compare it to In and Out, there are some clear advantages… the lines are shorter, you can actually find a place to sit. Oh yeah, I didn’t even miss the biblical referenes printed on cups and burger wrappers. Enjoy Five!!!

Are there In & Outs on the East Coast? I don’t think they’ve expanded out here yet, which might explain why Five Guys is raved about so highly. So… I saw the giant list of accolades Five Guys got and forced my travel-mates to come experience it with me. I got the Little Cheeseburger and some fries. It’s just… not as good as I was expecting, I guess. Like surprisingly bland flavor. And kind of expensive for what I was getting, considering I can get a cheeseburger + fries/soda combo at In & Out for about $ 5. It was kind of cool how they have a box of free peanuts though.

Let’s keep in mind that this is a fast food-ish burger joint, not a gourmet burger restaurant. I cant think of any other fast food place that does burgers this well. No, they’re not heavily seasoned and the toppings aren’t as clever as they would have you think, but a burger is about meat, grease, comfort and satisfaction. I like that they keep it simple. Great meat, very juicy, the cheese is not too sharp(an annoying trend in the newer burger places. Cheese in a burger should not overpower the meat) and I love the buns as well. The entire experience is nice and kind of charming too. The mountain of fries they give you, the peanuts in a shell while you wait, and the friendly demeanor of the staff. Five Guys makes me happy!

You know, the burgers are delicious, but I think the fries are some of the worst I’ve had at any establishment. Bland and blah – and mushy. I hate mushy fries.

Sorry, I just cannot eat at 5 Guys anymore. Their burgers and fries are just rolling in grease these days. Not sure what’s going on but it’s just become to much. It really does make me sad because they were always on the greasy side but it has just become so much worse. Am I the only one that sees all of the grease all over the french fry bag? Am I the only one that realizes that that’s not juice coming out of that burger, it’s grease. I so wish there were more Z Burger’s around. Z Burger is like a 5 Guys without all the grease.

If your business is selling burgers and fries, you should make amazing burgers and fries. Well, if not amazing, at least it should be good. The epitome of a good burger is its juiciness. The several burgers that I have eaten at Five Guys have been dry and boring to eat. Very disappointed. Since I dont expect much of the fries, they dont disappoint me. Its been a while since I visited Five Guys and so I forgot to order the toppings. The guy at the counter didn’t event bother to remind me. I eventually asked for and received some toppings to add to my burger. Go here if you are in a hurry and have no other place to go to.

Went here on a whim for lunch. We got bacon cheese burgers with everything. Was amazed at all the free items that come with«everything». We also got an order of regular sized order of cajun fries(large enoiugh to share). The food was as advertised, a hamburger with everything and because there are a lot of sauces(mayo, mustard and ketchup) it’s quite messy, but it is very good, hits the spot and stays with you a long time! The fries were a thick cut(not shoestring) but crispy and tasty! I loved the way the guy that took our order described them… not with words but with karate motions… a flying round house kick! ha! That sold us!

This is probably the best fast food burger your money can buy.(Yes, I’ve had In-N-Out multiple times. No, it’s not better than this.) The burger is juicy most of the time, and the free toppings are always good. The last time I went to this location though(8 Sept.) the fries were absolutely horrible. They give you a ton, but I prefer quality over quantity. They were way soggy, and I couldn’t even finish them. It was a very disappointing experience for me. So I give the burger 4 stars, and the fries 1 star. Step your game up five guys of dupont circle. I want my cajun fries crispy.

Did 5 guys created this so they called it this? I don’t know. This is not a creative name, but it is catchy. Around 9:30pm, a group of friends and I decided to go check out Five Guys. I’ve heard numerous rumors that it was comparable or even better than the most amazing fast-food restaurant in the world– In N Out. The interior design definitely looks like In N Out– red and white tiles! The menu: There is a choice of a Little Burger or a Hamburger. There are many choices to choose from: Burgers, Vegetarian Choices, Hot Dogs, Grilled cheese, etc! I think the prices are a $ 1 – 3 dollars higher than In N Out. However, they give you unlimited toppings which is great! Food: My Little Burger– $ 3.79 My Little Burger consisted of: lettuce, tomato, green bell peppers, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, and A-1 sauce. I really didn’t like how it was wrapped up in foil like other fast-food hamburger joints because it makes the burger soggy and moist. Overall, the burger had great flavors because there was so many ingredients. However, it was very messy and greasy. Roommate Cynthia’s CheeseHamburger– $ 5.99 She enjoyed the fact that they used freshly chopped jalapeño peppers because it makes it super spicy! Roommate Lauren’s Grilled Cheese Sandwich with tomatoes– $ 3.29 She said«It was totally not worth the price» and she should have taken advantage of the unlimited toppings Verdict: Five Guys definitely cannot beat the amazing and fresh quality at In N Out. I am a faithful In N Out follower for life!

«If I got to choose a side it’s got to be the East — I live out there… so don’t. got there» –B.I.G. Or maybe not. I asked a veteran of both coasts and a long-standing patron of Five’s Arlington location whether Five Guys was better than their West Coast counterpart, In n’ Out. I was informed the former wanted to be the latter«when it grew up.» Not to be disloyal, but I’m inclined to agree. Both provide great alternatives to traditional fast food; never-frozen beef patties, fresh cut fries, similar motifs and very reasonable prices. Both have limited menu options, doing only a few things, but doing them well. And both manage to keep a mom and pop feel despite their hundreds of locations. But there’s an almost imperceptible something that gives In n’ Out the slight advantage… For one, the staff always seem so impossibly cheerful for people working fast food — some of these poor bastards actually appear to be smiling(I’ve been told they’re paid well above minimum wage). I also really dig the simplicity of the burgers — The secret sauce, super crisp lettuce, grilled onions, and thick tomato slices make it the best burger you’re likely to find for $ 1.60. There’s also a surprisingly tasty low-carb option with lettuce wrapped around the burger in place of a bun — «it’s hella good.»

I think” Uncle Fatburger” had a bastard love child with some«hoochie» named appropriately«In and Out»! The result was a portly young hunk of cheese burger named«5-Guy»! 5 guys belongs in any burger lovers rotation it’s a player in the«Mass Produced» burger category, a ways to go before any of these places approach the beloved«shake Shack» as «America’s best mass production» burger!

The Five Guys’ burgers are fantastic. I may be biased being from Arlington, but I think they are miles ahead of the In-n-Out franchise. I’ve found the staff here pretty friendly and easy to deal with. The place is unassuming and the patrons are all down to earth. You get the feeling everyone there is for the same reason… to have a tasty meal without all the bells and whistles that more often than not are totally unnecessary. Service is pretty quick, the place is clean. Yay!

Not as good as In-N-Out! I had heard about burgers that were better than In-N-Out in DC and got mega excited to try this place! I didn’t enjoy the ambiance at the Dupont Circle location and thought the service was rather poor, but at that point all I cared about was having the supposedly amazing burgers here. I got my cheeseburger, but was disappointed by all the grease and overall blandness of the meat. I like how you can customize your toppings, but I was in disbelief that people actually compared this to In-N-Out. Plus a combo here is double the price of a double-double back home. Their cajun fries however, are really good. The cajun fries would be the only reason I come back, but Five Guys its not worth its hype/price and I would rather eat at Good Stuff!

A lot of people say that Five Guys is the In-N-Out of the East Coast, but I think it’s a far second(no offense). However the cajun fries need to make their West Coast debut, because they were LEGIT.

This place is a very good contender in terms of selling burgers as delicious as those of In n Out’s(which is my absolute favorite fast food burger). I need one of these in California so I can come to often enough to make an accurate comparison. The«little» burgers are great portioned for those who aren’t incredible eating machines and who also would like to enjoy the fries. It’s still a hearty meat patty topped with fresh veggies and a crisp bun – similar to In n Out, but minus the thousand island dressing.
