The staff was great, but that doesn’t offset the core of a restaurant: food. I ordered the special, spicy shrimp, bay spice fries, and smoked bacon broccoli salad. What I got was Costco frozen shrimp tossed in a crappy chilli sauce and Costco frozen fries with no seasoning. Did I mention it was cold? They both were cold. The salad was uncooked broccoli tossed in a gob of mayonnaise, some craisons and a couple bits of bacon. I didn’t send it back as it took way too long to get to me, and I was hungry. Plus, a restaurant should get it right the first time. Over priced crap food from a place attached to a hotel. Clearly they don’t care, they know they will get foot traffic. Staff was awesome though

I was underwhelmed by the $ 20 bland Spiced Shrimp Nachos.

I was here for a late dinner. I ordered the salmon and a half-serving of the chef’s salad. The staff were polite and quick to refill my water. The food came out pretty quickly. The salmon was just a tad overcooked and not very flavorful. The green beans were almost too hot(temperature) to eat, while everything else was on the plate was just warm enough. My gripe is that they did not remove the ends on the beans, making several of them feel unpleasantly stringy. The accompanying sauce was flavorful, with just the right amount of acid and seasoning to balance out an otherwise bland dish. Overall, it was an OK experience. I’d eat here again if I was at the hotel and felt lazy, but would look elsewhere otherwise.

The bar tender remembers guests drinks. Decent happy hour cocktails and appetizer options.

We stayed a week at the Embassy Suites and we’re looking for a nice, close place for dinner. The hot recommended to trying Finn and Porter. Our server was prompt and friendly. My husband enjoyed fish and chips and I enjoyed chicken with potatoes. Our means we’re delicious and the plate presentations nice! My only complaint would be the potatoes were not hot, but just warm. I informed our server so they could make adjustments for future guests. We also visited another night late and ordered a chicken quesadilla from the bat. It was delicious and perfect for two as a late snack.

We ate here after arriving on a late flight into DC. The food was surprisingly very good. The french dip sandwich on pretzel bread was very flavorful and delicious. The two chicken sandwiches on the menu were very good as well. The fries were seasoned just right but a bit on the cold side when we got them. Would have liked them a bit warmer but maybe we were hungry but we ate them anyway. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was very flavorful. I ordered the chili on the side. It was hearty. All in all, the food was very good and the service was great as well. BTW, my daughter had the mac and cheese on the kids menu and it was very cheesy and delicious just the way she likes it.

We liked it alot! Staying at the hotel for a couple of days and hungry from the trip. Walked around and noticed 2 places within a block of here were pretty pricey so we landed back here. We don’t usually try 2.5 star restaurants but read further and thought some of these low ratings were unfair. Try the blueberry mojito! The chef’s special hangar steak on mushroom risotto was yummy — $ 24. Grilled salmon on red beans and rice was yummy too — $ 24.

Now this is really a 4 star place — but I put five to try to counteract the other crappy reviews that are not necessarily food related. Great menu, with some great selections. My daughter had the salmon from the kids’ menu, and it was prepared perfectly — oh, and the KIDSMENUHASSALMON. That’s awesome. My BBQ sandwich was very good, especially for a place that has no pit out back. My wife had the fried chicken, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Dining area is very nice, and the food is just as good as some of the other places within walking distance. Service was excellent, and the dining experience was great. We also had dessert here, and it was excellent — so if you are staying at the hotel, don’t let the Unilocal stars keep you from eating here. You will probably not be disappointed.

staff are friendly and attentive but food is not great. I had tried chicken with mashed and green beans. The chicken was cooked through but not evenly warm which implies it was a re-heat. Potatoes were most likely not fresh while beans were good. Overall not horrible but not great either.

3 double grey goose and orange = $ 84. Service was shotty at best. Bartender had to get the OJ from the motel 6OJ dispenser for breakfast buffet. Restroom is in hotel lobby and has one stall for a hotel and restaurant with capacity of more than 100. Save your money and time and go somewhere else.

The food was mouthwatering! My mom and I has the steak peppercorn something… omg!!! Melted in my mouth. It sounded random but it went so well together. The waitress was super nice! We are definitely headed back for two nights in a row!

I have not dined here, but I’ve had a class here(massage and might take meditation next). It’s a nice space, though I’m not sure it’s ideal for a massage or meditation classes. A group called Professionals in the City also hosts speed dating events here, so if you’re a single person, this is probably a great place to meet other singles. And if you’re just staying at the hotel for a trip, this would be an easy place to strike up a conversation. It’s quite a hike for me, so I’d only go there to take a fun class, since the location didn’t appeal to me, but I think it’s great for single people.

Blender was broken so they could not make a frozen mango margaritas. The calamari had so much bread crumbs the bottom the basket and was over fried and oily. The blueberry mohito was not tasty either.

A restaurant in the Embassy Suites down in DC. It’s a decent sized place with what looks to be an open kitchen. I sat at the bar with my cousin. The bartender was amazing. The nachos were on special so we got the steak nachos to split. They were awesome! Loved them. I ordered a few beers, nothing special though. It’s a great place to go if you’re staying there at the hotel.

Finn & Porter is located within Embassy Suites Washington. Though I’ve never needed to stay at the hotel, I’ve been here several times for happy hour. There’s usually some sort of daily food and beer special and there isn’t too much of a crowd. Things pick up around 7:00PM for dinner on Thursday and Friday nights. The last time I hung out at Finn I had a club sandwich and fries. Everything was very good! The sandwich was very well constructed and delicious and the fries were extra hot and crispy. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Fairly convenient to Metro Center or Gallery Place Chinatown metro station if you don’t mind a scenic walk!

Horrible service. We were seated first, then 3 other groups were seated after us. The 3 other groups received their menus before my husband and I did. Rude! Calamari was gross. Tastes like it was reheated. Chicken dumplings were super oily. I got the Virginia Scallops $ 25 entrée. It was extremely salty. It came with cheese polenta that was so watery and salty I couldn’t finish my food. Décor is very out dated. If you are willing to pay good money to eat here then you are better off finding something else in DC. Don’t waste your money here. Very sketchy.

The staff was friendly and service was good but the food was mediocre. The waiter recommended fried ravioli but they weren’t anything out of the ordinary. I ordered Filet Mignon with string beans and fingerling potatoes. The filet mignon came out medium well instead of medium and with an overpowering mushroom sauce. The fingerling potatoes were good but the string beans were soft. Overall the food is on the salty side and over priced.

I stayed in the hotel this weekend and based on my schedule I ended up eating here a couple of times. The atmosphere is not bad at all and the staff greeted me quickly and pleasantly each time I dined here. The night I had dinner here the server was excellent and I never wanted for anything The first night I had a cup of the cream of crab soup(about 7.00) and the cup was pretty small but the soup was good and topped with bacon. Not the best I’ve had since I’ve been here but still, no complaints. I also had the mussels appetizer(12 or 13) with white wine butter sauce which were also good. The bread basket also had a rather yummy breadstick in it. Little pricey for the small portions Breakfast at this restaurant was included with the room. I had bacon, scrambled eggs, some potatoes and OJ. Basic buffet style. Definitely nice that it was included with the room and certainly more than most free breakfast buffets I had a quick dinner here as well and had to eat and get out in 30 mins and the server was excellent and got me out in the time I needed. The pasta and meatballs was great, though also small(17.00ish). Overall no complaints about the food or service. Food is good but nothing unbelievable. A little pricey and portions a little small.

The skinny on Finn and Porter: 1. Filet would have been good if it wasn’t drenched in brown sauce 2. Caesar salad was mediocre(bottled dressing served on the side) 3. EXPENSIVEASHECK I paid over $ 100 for a salad and steak(accompanied by a cheap-ish cab) room service dinner. For serious. If that wasn’t on my agency’s tab, I would have been super unhappy.
