I came here for a PRSA happy hour. The service was amazing and the appetizers were DELICIOUS. I literally would come back just for those soft pretzels(forgot what they were called), spinach dip, and nachos. PRSA may have paid for it, I’m not sure — but everything was free for me. The drinks and apps were endless and delicious! Would’ve had more food options if I was not vegetarian, but everyone seemed to be enjoying the various options quite a bit!

I was surprisingly pleased with this establishment as I’m not a pub dining kind of girl. However, I was invited for lunch and I am not one to turn down a meal or try something different. I ordered the applewood salmon club; which was really oven roasted salmon on a bun with red pepper aioli, lettuce, tomatoes, bacon and guacamole. I skipped the bacon but the salmon was roasted to perfection and very tasty. Prices were average and the service was on point. I would definitely visit again to try something else on the menu.

French onion soup was terrible and very very salty. The fish and chips, although haddock, was fairly disappointing. service was good. I would stick to the roast dinner with roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, and gravy. Don’t be adventurous.

Isn’t it weird how people either love or hate mushrooms? I love mushrooms. Been a while since I’ve been to this location and they’ve definitely refreshed the menu– salmon caesar salad is still a good bet but went with a steak and mushroom pie for lunch with the house salad on the side. The pie– steak and ‘shrooms stew with the flakey crust on top– was tasty but the mixed greens were dry and wilted much like [insert old people parts parallel here]. Not sure it was worth $ 13 for lunch. Substituting the salad for sweet potato fries would probably make this more worthwhile: D Decent lunch crowd with good looking dudes in suits– bonus yas. Only reason to miss working in DC.

Well so far the service is horrible. 12 min to be greeted. Server was ready to run away as soon as she said hello. We immediately put in drink and food order. Waiting to see what happens. 12:59. Have to add a side note. I work hospitality. Server had a big top that slowed her down I think as service did improve through the meal. Food came out quickly. 1:08 Extremely delicious. I had lamb burger, mid rare with a great carrot ginger soup. My wife had poutinie. Which is fries smothered in stuff. In this case a buttered chicken-tomato curry. Topped off with cheese curds. Yum. They do serve brunch and some traditional English food. Had a parfait with Greek yogurt and granola off that menu.

I was a bit hesitant to eat here at first because when I looked in the window, there was literally no one in the restaurant, just a couple people at the bar. It was a cozy little place though, and had a fire place going with lots of tasteful Christmas decorations(this was in early December), so I decided to give it a try purely based on the décor and the extensive poutine menu. I’m a sucker for good poutine, and though this place has a lot of options, it’s lacking in quality. The ingredients simply did not mesh together well. It looked like something I could’ve made at home — and trust me, I’m no chef. I can imagine it would be good bar food though. The poutine plate was small, but as an appetizer it was ok for one or two people to eat. Definitely not too filling, which isn’t a bad thing seeing as it wasn’t the main course. For a main course I ordered the salmon burger. I wasn’t impressed. Sadly, the salmon burger was tiny compared to the massive buns it came on. It was EXTREMELY dry, too. Taste wise it wasn’t half bad, if you can ignore the texture and the two huge pieces of bread surrounding it. I also tried a bite of my boyfriend’s chicken tenders. They were pretty good, but sort of tasted like something that could’ve come out of a bag or box. Overall, the service was good. I would probably come back for a pint and some poutine, and to sit near the nice fireplace again.

This is probably one of the most lowkey unassuming but very delicious places I’ve been in awhile. I went for a brunch date around 2pm on a Sunday it was fairly quiet with only the football games as background noise. The staff was courteous and fast. I orders the mahi mahi fish tacos. They weren’t grilled but they were skewered with a very well seasoned batter that made me have to ask the waiter«is this fish?» Yes because it was that delicious. I’ve never had fish let alone mahi mahi that tasted quite like that. The dish also came with cabbage, chipotle sauce, and guac on a soft shell taco. They were accompanied by chips with Salsa and best of all. drumroll please lols. hot sauce on the side. This place seems to know what u need to complete a fish taco meal before you even ask. For these reasons and more I highly recommend this location.

Great food in a friendly atmosphere. Staff made suggestions without pushing for an upscale. Trivia night was entertaining just to watch. Save room for bread pudding with ice cream on the side. Perfect casual night out with friends.

I was holidays and stoked off for lunch here . On arrival we waited to be seated even though it was half empty. A waiter was watching TV so didn’t turn around to greet us, unroll one off his collugues shouted at him to greet us. U fortunately this waiter turned out to be the worse service I experienced in DC ! His attitude was unbelievable from cold stares to silence not sure what was going on but he definitely didn’t want to be there to serve us . He was at best cordial at worse rude, just cannot understand how a nice place like this employees someone with his attitude . Food was actually very good so would recommend this based on food only and insure other waiters are better but I can only review what I experienced. I think his name was Solomon as I heard someone else complain about him when we where there !

I would say the place was so-so. It’s not that easy to find a quick meal that serves beer & wine on the fly and that was its main attribute. I ordered a French dip and the aujus was really gravy! My husband had a Ruben which was tasteless.

First, let me say I’m British, and I cook Yorkshire puddings every Sunday. The Yorkshire Pudding dish with roast beef was disgusting, the Yorkshire pudding was dense, and doughy, and small. My plate was loaded down with dry roast beef, the gravy was gelatinous from sitting under the heating lamp. I’d load the picture, cause it’s all still sitting on my plate, but Unilocal doesn’t allow pictures. Wouldn’t recommend this place, ever.

I ate at this restaurant for the first time on September 18th, 2015 with a group of friends. The service was absolutely terrible and disappointing. If I could give this place a no star I would, but one star would do the trick. Our waiter Brittany M kept taking half full drinks and food off our table without asking if we were done. This occurred several times, at some point we brought it to her attention, and she was very argumentative about it. Assuming because other costumers are usually done, so she assumed we’re done with our food/drinks. In addition she could hardly notice us when we wanted something(water, more drinks, the bill etc.). We spend $ 150(a little more than $ 20 per person!) but the price is not comparable to the food and service we received. In conclusion, the waiter Brittany M. made the whole experience unbearable, I would never come to this place again for any reason and I don’t recommend this restaurant, not even to my worst enemy. PS: This review is based on my personal experience. Even though the waiter was terrible we all still tipped her 18%

Would have enjoyed eating more than just the fried pickles and a drink on trivia night. Too bad the server didn’t really stop by to order my food so I ran out of time and had to leave hungry. Definitely a place for quick snacks and drinks and nothing more. Thanks. We could tell when you said we were your only table and wanted to leave after us. If you had actually stopped by enough for us to order more than appetizers, maybe a full meal, maybe we could have given you more than the tip you put on our bill.

Went here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch/lunch and was quite surprised that it wasn’t crowded at all. We had a large party and we easily found a table and area for all of us to eat and drink. I’m a vegetarian, and I found there were limited options, but I was able to find something to eat. I ordered the breakfast club and an Irish coffee. The sandwich was pretty tasty, but definitely nothing unique or special. I was disappointed about the Irisih coffee though. When I saw it on the menu listed with Baileys and Jameson I knew I wanted to try it. However, it was so strong and tasted only of Jameson. I don’t believe there was any Baileys in the Irish coffee. It was so strongly flavored with coffee and whiskey that I could barely drink it. There was only one server on the floor because it wasn’t too crowded, but it seemed like he kept forgetting about our table. When it came time to leave we had to seek him out ourselves in order to pay after waiting for a while. I don’t have any major complaints though, many of my meat-eating friends really enjoyed their food and people who did the bottomless mimosa option seemed to be happy with their decision. …I will say I tried some of my friend’s jalapeño mac & cheese and it was delicious!

Eating here for lunch is a typically underwhelming experience. The food is mediocre and overpriced while the service is lacking(granted I’ve only been with large parties). It’s hard to go wrong with a burger at a pub but I didn’t enjoy the deluxe burger at all. Sadly, I enjoyed the French fries more than the burger itself. The chipotle aioli(which I asked not to have) didn’t mix well with the bbq sauce at all. The mixture had an unappealing taste and dominated everything else on the burger. I asked for extra bbq sauce to drown out everything else but it never came even though I asked a few people. The waitress felt bad realizing it after the fact(someone else was supposed to bring it) but nevertheless, it was still a disappointing meal.

I admit that I am not from DC and it was a new experience to be in the city. However, it still was pretty surprising that a single can of beer was a little under $ 8 and the entire place closed at 11pm.(I guess that’s why they can close so early). The service was quick but not engaging. I was excited to see a Tennants available for purchase, not having one since I was in Glasgow. Locals may feel differently, perhaps this is pretty normal for a place(price and closing time), but anyone not from DC might want to look for a place with a bit more in terms of amenities if you are going to be going pricey.

Been coming here atleast once a month since relocating back to the area in August 2014. The service is fast and I have never had an issue getting a table quick. The server, whose name skips my memory, is always smiling and knows exactly what type of rum I want to accompany my coke :-) I usually get a burger and a cup of soup… decent, reliable and good food guarantee

I’ve been here several times with my coworkers, since it’s close to my office. I appreciate the convenience as much as I appreciate the good pub food. The last time I came here for lunch, I left satisfied. I had the fish tacos with chips. I highly recommend it. If you’re looking for something light but filling, try the steak salad. Their beers on tap for happy hour are also good. If you’re in the area, check it out.

Great hangout spot for drinks! Been here a few times on a weeknight and weekend nights and its fairly crowded but brings a good crowd! Worked around the corner from this place and this was our go to stop for drinks after work. It’s a nice upscale décor and a good spot for young professionals and a great spot to mingle with the ladies ;) Will definitely be returning soon to have more drinks!
