As of Summer/Fall 2015, Dr Mug does not exist. Management turned this into a mini student lounge for medical students. I wasn’t impressed with the food or coffee. Service to me was decent.

Dr. Mug is located in the hallway of the main medical school building on the ground floor, not the lower level. The main employee is Antonio and he is awesome. He is always friendly and asks how your day is. I have been served on occasion by another girl who would not make eye contact and seemed irritated at having to work there. I got a vanilla latte once and it was awful, really bitter and old, burnt coffee taste. I promised myself I would never get coffee there again based on this experience, regardless of the location convenience. I went another time to get a blueberry muffin and it was delicious! I would easily get another pastry from Dr. Mug but skip the coffee and go over to the Leavy center Starbucks.

It’s just a small kiosk at the bottom of the Pre-Clinical Science building, but they’re planning to expand it into the space where the Medical Book Store used to be. I’m pretty excited for them. Though small, their staff are attentive and absolutely kind. I don’t know how many people pass through that hallway for a morning coffee, but it feels like the staff manage to remember us all.

A great campus spot for coffee, pastries, and even prepacked lunch options(sandwiches and salads). Coffee is WAY cheaper than at any other campus coffee stop(Starbucks in Leavey, Epicurean, etc.) and is served with a smile by Antonio. Dr. Mug has even been able to help me out in a pinch when I needed to cater a same-day breakfast meeting. You can also get milkshakes here(the F’Real kind) although I have never tried them. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time…

4 – 4.5 stars. Antonio is the best! All the staff that work here are very friendly and help wake me up in the mornings! I really can’t go a day without getting coffee from Dr Mug. So I’ve increased the star. The french vanilla coffee is my favorite coffee and they’re very good about keeping it stocked.

$ 1 coffee refills… READIT…$ 1, no matter what size your massive coffee cup! And it’s not crap, its Seattle’s Best! You really can’t say no to this after hours at the Medical Campus or DML. And those cookies… are to die for. I craaave them while sitting in class/DML/home! Their chocolatey gooey goodness brings me joy when the world is bright outside, but I’m inside the stalinist library. Did you think starbucks was good on campus… PSSHhhh, Dr Mug’s espresso drinks are great and cheaper! If you’re in the area, and need a lil pick me up. Dr. Mug will prescribe you what you need: P
