I came to union market a few weeks ago with a meetup group and we made a stop at DC Empanadas. The meetup organizer got us some samples of the beef and the cheese empanadas. The beef was good but I really liked the cheese – so much so that I ordered three cheese empanadas! I also love the fact that they were not just sitting under a heat lamp, I saw the guy actually put them in the fryer. There’s nothing like freshly fried empanadas. The guy making my empanadas was pleasant and helpful. I’d like to say that I would try another kind but I’m a creature of habit and would probably get the cheese again. Check the place out, you won’t be disappointed.

I lived in Argentina for over a year. I know empanadas. We tried the Ropanada and it was not that good. $ 3.50 each is a joke. They were tiny. Pass.

We stopped on our way to Florida at Union Market and DC Empanadas called out to us. The empanadas were fresh and delicious and the owner was very nice. The entire market is s really nice.

Went during lunch — ordered 3 empanadas for the price of 2(lunch special) and a mango lemonade! Everything was absolutely delicious, extremely affordable, and very filling. I decided to try the beef, pork, and cheese empanadas. I really can’t decide which was my favorite because they were all THAT fantastic. The men behind the counter were really nice and the food was ready in only a few minutes despite the long line! Try it out.

I just had their Cuban empanada. Unbelievably delicious, I have to confess that I was surprised. I haven’t tried their other options yet but I look forward to it. They also have a 3 for 2 deal during weekday lunch. Friendly staff.

Totally in love with these freshly made pockets of yumminess! If the Divine Swine empanadas are on the menu, do yourself a favour and enjoy one immediately! The combination of the sweet crispy crust and the nicely seasoned pulled pork was a perfect match.

Although Union Market boasts many eateries, including fine dining, whenever I go I always end up at DC Empanadas. Their empanadas are deep fried to perfection, but never greasy. The«Divine Swine» is my absolute favorite, but they keep a good rotation of different options(including vegetarian) that are all pretty delicious.

DC Empanadas has my favorite empanadas in the city. I’ve been a few times, and these little pockets of goodness have always been hot and crispy. Everytime I’ve visited, the only option I’ve liked has been their cheese empanada, and while it is fantastic, I hope to try another option soon.

It’s very good and I ate them in a short amount of time there at Union market in dc. you won’t have long before you love them and come back for more. Try the pork bbq and the buffalo chicken.
