So I’ve been wanting to try Cream Cycle(CreamCycle?) for ages. I check their twitter practically every day because I think it would make a great cold treat break when I’m at work. However, they rarely update their social media accounts, which is just bad practice if you ask me. Anyway, I scouted them out at the meet market on 15th and p today because I was looking forward to trying one of the flavors I had memorized from the website. Well, they were only offering 4 flavors, one of which was out and one of which was chocolate vanilla(which I deemed too generic for a first try, obviously). So I went with the jalapeño chocolate – jalapeño vanilla ice cream with a chocolate cookie. Overall, I liked it and am definitely glad I tried it. For some reason I was expecting more of a cookie(I guess because they call it «cookie») but it was a similar consistency to the chocolate part of a traditional ice cream sandwich. Cakey, almost. The ice cream was really good. Not spicy really, but full of flavor and zippy while still being creamy and sweet. I couldn’t finish it, which is exceedingly rare for me and desserts. The whole thing costs $ 5, which I guess was expected but still more expensive than sweetgreen froyo I think which is my go-to refreshing treat. I wish I had paid a dollar less for a slightly smaller sandwich. I will definitely try it again, provided they update their twitter and they are offering another flavor. Oh and I forgot to mention, the guy working it was super nice and helpful, so I left with a great impression.
