Cloakroom

One would hope that my experience was atypical, but there were so many little things that were unacceptable that they added up to me leaving in less than ten minutes. Sorry for the length.
Having just come from work, I was dressed in a clean cut suit. I went to the club alone. One of the bouncers made a very snide comment to me as I walked in. I tried to ignore him and the other bouncer apologized since it was clear he had crossed the line. Were it my business, it was not at all the first impression I’d ever allow one of my employees to give.
There was a $ 10 cover charge (not mentioned on their website) and another bouncer escorted me to the bar. The place was pretty dead, but there were no seats available at the bar because three of the strippers were just lounging around indifferently. Eventually security gave one of them a look and she stood up so I could have a seat. After five minutes or so, the not busy bartender hadn’t even acknowledged I was there and none of the women lounging around (who were literally less than an arm’s length away) had even said a word or moved. It was clear that they were indifferent to my business thus I was happy to take my cash else ware.
Having only been there a moment and displeased with the service, I asked for my cover charge back. The cashier looked at me baffled and said, «But the machine has already counted it.» I asked security for the manager. He replied that he wasn’t even sure they were in the building. I left for a moment and returned and asked for the manager a second time. Perhaps it was clear that I wasn’t going to just go away, so he called the manager downstairs on his radio and disappeared. While I waited, another security guy came up behind me and casually said, «Can I help you babe?» Babe? Really? At this point, I had already given up hope that anything at Cloakroom would come with a hint of professionalism.
Even though I was the only customer near the area, an unkempt and casually dressed man waddled straight past me and asked the cashier where the customer was. Apparently Cloakroom doesn’t ever assume women are customers as I was literally four feet from him. After a few seconds of beginning to explain why I was interested in taking my business else ware, I stopped even trying to engage him. His disinterest was evident and his casual mannerisms started to make me doubt he was even a manager. Luckily, someone else immediately handed me my cover back. I left.
My wallet and I were happy to take our business to one of their competitors, which ended up being very busy and a great experience.
I won’t be going back and won’t be recommending this place to anyone I know.

We celebrated a friends birthday there last night and this morning my husbands credit card and drivers license were missing. I called and asked if they had it and it was not in the credit card file that they keep. Louie, the manager, was so friendly, helpful and professional. He texted the night managers and our waitress. When that came up empty he searched the booth we were in. He found the cards!!! They had fallen through a crack. I am so impressed that he knew the importance of this and exhausted all possibilities. He kept in touch with me all day and definitely made me feel like a priority. When I thanked him he simply said that’s what they are there for. So professional and customer driven. Wow.

This place is awesome. I’ve been to quite a few strips clubs in DC and none have compared to Cloakroom. Probably the biggest and most modern on the inside. All the girls are beautiful and they have a good variety to fit everyone’s taste. I’ll definitely be back!

Place is by far the best strip bar in the city. Great staff and It feels welcoming versus the other old and non modern looking strip bars. In addition, food is incredible!!! Very surprised! Over all great and like the location.

A few years ago (say 2009?) I found myself here with my coworkers as a part of our ‘unofficial’ team get together’s (i.e., holiday parties, baby-​showers for guys, you know, the normal stuff). And back then I could get a jack and coke in a highball glass for 5 bucks. Now it’s 2013, where my jack shrunk to half that size, and 3x’s the cost.
That’s more or less my summary of this place. Like everything that’s changed around here at break neck speed, so to has the old Louise Rogue. What used to feel extremely sketch, making sure you didn’t loose your wallet going in, now the thievery has moved inside its doors.
This was a recon visit to try and set up an unofficial team holiday party, but probably won’t be using it for any celebrations. My group’s just not the target demographic. As far as the inside goes, bar in the middle dominates the floor, with 2 poles in the center which goes all the way to the second floor. Bar is stocked with plenty of Miller Lite, Moet, and Red Bull. Boy was I surprised on the amount of Jäger this place keeps in stock.

I honestly love this place. I’m a straight woman and had a blast here with my friends– a mix of men and women. I’m not a fan of strip clubs, but when my friend’s suggested we go to this place, I decided that it seemed classier than the average place.
This place is 2 floors and has two 30ft? poles on this large stage. It is dimly lit and there is a wide array of Dancers both dancing on the stage and on the floor. While the drinks are a bit pricey, the service was worth it. The Bartenders and Cocktail Waitresses are so nice and friendly. We were seated at this corner booth where we were immediately presented with a dinner menu. We ordered a variety of dishes. The food I must say is pretty good. All of us enjoyed ourselves.
My favorite moment happened when these 2 Dancers came out and performed this Cirque Du Soleil act that was out of this world. Tons of money went flying in the air and it was as if you were in Vegas at the hottest party. The club should search for more Dancers like these 2 women. The other women were beautiful and had good performances too. One girl came out to a rock song and performed yoga inspired like moves. Which of course, as a straight woman, I noticed things like that. Haha.
There were some professional Athletes there and some brought their wives. It was definitely an interesting group of people. All people who had money to spend and open minds. I personally think they should keep it super exclusive. One person wrote that her friends were not let in because of their shoes. Okay, don’t your friends know how to dress when they go to a lounge type of place? People are offended that just anyone cannot come in. Sorry that you are unable to enter. Go buy a nice outfit and then return with a respectable attitude. Good luck trying to get into upscale Gentleman’s Clubs in NYC, Vegas and LA you bozos. You won’t. This place is no different. They can deny entry to whomever they want. That’s just the way it works sometimes and it doesn’t always seem fair, but that’s life. Stop complaining about it.
I’ve been here about 5 times since it opened, and had a blast each time. I highly recommend going with a big group of friends for drinks, dinner and some Dances.
As this place grows in notoriety, I’m sure entry will be much harder. So get to know the Staff now, dress properly and come in to have a good time!

I am never coming here again. My friend and I went to the ATM in order to spend a lot of money here. He’s a well dressed guy, and they wouldn’t let him in because of his ‘shoes.’ He’s a white guy with money to spend. Honestly, I had a good time the first time I was here, and when I brought my friends, they wouldn’t let them in for arbitrary reasons. I’m pretty incensed and won’t be back.

This is a very nice new strip club located where the old Louise Rouge club was. The originals Louis Rouge Club sign is still on the corner so don’t be confused. The inside is very modern and clean and a lot more spacious than the other places downtown. It’s not as big a Stadium Club, but the location is far, far better.
We went during an off time in the afternoon so there were only a few dancers, but they were all very pretty. I can’t give you a full review of the talent just because of how few there were, but I would guess this place is popping during more popular hours.
Be prepared to pay a premium for drinks, but when you’re coming to a place like this, money should be the last thing on your mind.

Aesthetically speaking, Cloakroom is on point. The lighting is gorgeous and the venue is clean and flashy, with two poles front and center that ascend to the 2^nd floor for another «point of view.»
As for my Saturday night here, just about everything about it was random.
The decision to come here, random.
The range of dancers both in looks and talent, random.
The music selection, random.
Crowd? Yup, pretty random.
Even the price points on the same drink was a little random, with my first Jack Daniels on the rocks ringing up at $ 18 and my second, ringing up at $ 17.
In the midst of all the randomness, there was one epic act that floored us. After a few pretty cliché performances, two dancers came out draped in gorgeous, Bodyguard (the movie) inspired cloaks. As they approached each pole, I’ve got to admit I expected some kind of corny tag team or cheap girl-​on-​girl simulation.
Instead, we witnessed a Cirque Du Soleil inspired performance. The athletic prowess and acrobatic ability of these two were so impressive (and maybe even to the audience’s eye, risky) that we were all in awe of the performance. I mean, without giving too much away, these ladies even pulled off surfing on a stripper pole, at least 15 ft in the air. Needless to say, there was an explosion of cash that came from that (and the ladies didn’t even get nekkies!)
However, if I were to sum up Cloakroom with a one word description it would be: mainstream.
But I do believe they will be successful and a popular destination…
