This is base on her Chevy Chase location. I had a 3pm appointment was not seen until 3:30 just to take vitals and then back to the waiting room I went until 4pm. I wanted an hour to be seen. I had kids to pick up — they do not care. The front office staff has attitude, never again will I go back. Then when I complained about the wait time I was told to make an earlier appointment. I will never go back, they do not respect your time or money.

Dr. DeWitt seems like a very competent physician. Unfortunately it is impossible to see her and her front office staff is incompetent. In the past two years I have been able to see her one time, that time it took over an hour of waiting in her waiting room followed by half an hour in her exam room. After finally seeing me, Dr. DeWitt then asked that I follow up in 3 months. Eight months later and I have now booked appointments with her twice and both times those were cancelled by form letter asking me to call her office and set up a new appointment. I just called to try to try and reschedule after yet another form letter cancellation and I was told I have to wait until March 2016 to see her. A year after I was supposed to see her. When I asked to speak to a manager I was hung up on. I understand doctors are busy, and I try not to judge them on their front office staff, but there is no point in this kind of frustration just to see a physician.

I trust Georgetown Medstar specialists after good experiences. Dr. DeWitt’s office explained they had a cancellation and I could get an appointment the next day or wait 2 months. I showed up early, and was seen by a nurse about a half hour later, and then after an hour by a woman who I assumed was the doctor, as she played the role. When I reviewed the bill later that night, I realized the provider was not Dr. DeWitt but another name. This nurse took about 10 minutes to look at my skin and gave me some free lotion samples, and said I could buy some $ 1,500 laser treatment. I left thinking it was an odd appointment, and was not impressed with the explanations I received. I am paying extra money to see a specialist, and I expected to actually get a specialist, not an assistant. This really feels like a rip off. I’m not important enough to actually get the doctor I was told I was making an appointment to see. I don’t believe there’s a 2 month wait to see a Nurse Practitioner. I could have went to a CVS.
