This is a beautiful store with beautiful prices. We chanced upon this place — and were reprimanded by an older gentleman(I assume an owner) when we walked in w/ice cream and soda. Very rude and he decided to give us a lecture that most people ask before entering a business if they have food or beverage — no sign on the door. Wanted to tell us how they were the best of the best — blah blah blah. Learn some better customer service as you greet customers — you are in a tourist area so I am sure it wasn’t a first time.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon, finding a large collection of high quality antiques, with an emphasis on art nouveau and art deco. There are also a lot of cocktail shakers, barware, and secession silverware. The store owners were gracious and helpful, not at all pushy. They are very knowledgeable about their collections, and about antiques in general. I felt relaxed and at home here immediately, which was a contrast from the other antique shops we visited that day. The prices are not bargain-basement, but the quality is very high, and I thought they were honest and fair. They wrapped our opaline glass with extraordinary care, included a personal note, with background information on the piece, and shipped it to California at no extra charge. If I lived nearby I would stop by frequently. I don’t generally visit antiques stores, but this one is a cut above. They have a website: which allows you to see their new items, but it is not quite the same as being there. If you are in the D.C. area you should check them out.
