Capitol Video Sales

Don’t let the name fool you, they sell a lot more than videos and I’m not talking about videos you can watch as a family. This place is an adult novelty shop! Imagine my surprise as I was minding my own business walking down Connecticut when I saw scantily dressed mannequins in the window. Curiosity killed the cat and made me walk in. The two gentlemen were funny and helpful. I might have picked something up, but I might not have either…
Besides videos, they carry costumes and toys for men and women. if you’re into stuff like that, and I think you are. The store has a second section in the back which I didn’t venture into. I didn’t want to run into someone from my church. or worse a parent of one of my students. Parent Teacher conferences would never be the same.
Now that I know that this place is here I might come back, I might not, but I might.

I went in and was treated horrible today. The staff was rude. I walked around for 20 minutes, before being acknowledged by any of the staff. While trying to buy a costume; I wanted to try it on. I asked if stuff was returnable, the associate said, «hell no. I know you didn’t just ask that.» Since I wouldn’t be able to return anything, I laid the items I was looking at down and started organizing figuring out which ones I wanted to buy (I had a specific outfit in mind). The owner jumped over, yelled, and in a very aggressive tone said, «what are you doing? You can’t do that, be in the corner going through our stuff. We don’t run that kind of business.»
Mind you– I work in retail (not adult store retail), there where three associates, the store had many boxes of unopened shipment all over the sales floor. Considering there where three employees working, not a single one was helping customers, or doing any actual work. They where all just sitting in chairs like they where hanging out at home. Very unprofessional and bad customer service.

Just re-​visited this store recently, was ignored by a new clerk who was busy in texting on his cell. Meanwhile, the prices went up a lot.
