Great happy hour specials, if you can tell me another place in the city where you can get a shot, beer and a hotdog for six dollars, then let me know! Came in around seven, a friend and I were able to grab a seat at the bar, had your average bar menu. The music was on point all evening, an eclectic mix of 90’s and 00’s hip hop and pop hits. Will be returning!

vegans/vegetarians: offerings include black bean burger, falafel wrap, fries. wish they would offer a veggie dog! food is alright, but who comes here for the food. it’s all about the bogo drinx and cheesy board games. would come here regularly and bump up the rating if they offered a vegan happy hour alternative to hot dogs!

I am so lucky to live around the corner from Bravo Bar — the least pretentious bar in DC. Mike & his staff are all laid back and friendly, solid bar food, and you CAN’T BEAT a $ 6 dog/beam/pbr combo.

This place gets 4 stars for being a true dive bar. The drinks specials are great, staff is nice but it really is a dive bar. Seating and food are okay at best but the atmosphere is laid back. Wasn’t too loud or packed when I went(which I prefer). Would recommend for happy hour, casual drinks or their $ 6 for a hot dog, shot of Jim Beam and a PBR deal.

After two plus years in DC, Bravo has easily become my favorite bar in the city. The well-known $ 6 shot-beer-hotdog happy hour special would be impossible to beat, except for their 2-for-1 drafts & rails special. Oh, and happy hour runs ’til 8. They recently installed a new line of taps which the owner says he intends to rotate regularly. The music is bomb, they’ll change the TV to what you’d like to watch, the place is dog-friendly, and there’s a smoking-friendly patio too. But perhaps most importantly, as Maggie P said, there’s something friendly and welcoming about the place that’s difficult to put a finger on. All of the bartenders are super friendly and will chat with you at length if that’s your thing. That’s probably part of the reason why this place is becoming popular, frequented by longtime locals & neighbors, DC gov’t insiders, and federal politicos alike. As far as I can tell, Bravo is here to stay, and I couldn’t be happier.

Seriously, $ 6 for a PBR, an overflowing shot of Jim Beam, & a hotdog(gave that to the Beau, he said it was very tasty) is literally unbeatable in this city. I’ll say it again, UNbeatable. But that’s just the practical… This place is quite awesome. I don’t know really how to explain how, it just hits every mark and it’s vibe is a mish mash of perfect. Games? Check. Local sports on TV? Check. Really chill music being played at just the right volume? Check. Most engaging/interesting bartender-slash-owner who values his customers? Double check. If you’re looking for a relaxed place to grab a drink and hang with friends, check it out! It’s got a really great atmosphere and is far more«off the beaten path» than most places in DC.

This is a classic bar, complete with a projector for sports, a huge alcohol selection and nice not over the top bar food. This place gets pretty full when there are sporting events so choose your bar times wisely. I usually like to come after work and before a game is on. They sell the usual brands of beer and some craft selections as well. The service is good enough, with a bartender that seems to spend time with more curious customers and the food you order never takes too long; and the Cheese-steak is off the roof(Never used that expression before, forgive me). The atmosphere is only ruined by a small amount when a game is on and all the super manly men dominate the whole bar with shouts and sports talk. Which is good for guys bad for me.

I am a fan of bravo. Its a nifty, no frills neighborhood bar with board games and cheap deals. The last time I went to happy hour, it was buy one get one free on drinks. The bartender was real cool and excitable and spent time w me talking through the food options. The foods mostly simple bar food, although I think there were pupusas which adds a little flavor to the usual bar fries . It’s not the bar that you go to for a Friday night out but more so for a chill w friends night where you can all catch up and once your done, play board games . There’s an outside and an inside area and there’s also a big projector for sports games. The inside is dim, fairly large and I haven’t seen it too crowded. You can actually hear others speak which is a real compliment for a bar. The owner is hustling hard to make his business a success and even suggested that he could keep it open later if a group wanted to stay. He lives upstairs and runs it with brother … Friendly guy. I have a lot of respect for that.

This is a great neighborhood bar. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the patrons are authentic local types. The food is okay and the drink selection is ok too, but I didn’t come here for that. I came for a legit no frills local watering hole vibe where an independent working adult can come for a drink and if necessary, a bite to eat without being bothered by youngsters trying to make the scene while searching for a mate. And this place delivered.

Awesome dive bar with amazing happy hour specials! I knew this was a dive bar going in so I wasn’t expecting a whole lot for dinner, but the food exceeded expectations. We got the steak & cheese and the spicy fried chicken sandwiches. OMG the steak & cheese was SERIOUSLYGOOD! I will probably get that next time. The spicy fried chicken sandwich was so tasty too and I especially loved the pickles on the side! I ate half of them and put the other half on the sandwich. I don’t even like wedge fries that much, but theirs were really good. Lastly, BOGO draft beer from 5 – 8. Next time we’ll get half priced wings and papusa! Mmmmm, new favorite neighborhood spot!

Bravo bar is a great addition to a neighborhood sorely in need of a good, legit neighborhood bar. First off, they have awesome happy hour specials, both on booze and food. Even if you don’t come here for happy hour, the priced are great. The crowd here is great, unpretentious and a great mix of people. They don’t offer any fancy cocktails but they have a nice liquor selection and their tap bears are great. They had the lose Cannon IPA last time I was here. The food is great(for bar food) the wedge fries have a great flavor as do the pupusas.

This cute little neighborhood bar is GREAT! My friend and I came here to kill time before going out. I get my nails done right next door to the bar and wanted to give this place a try. The atmosphere is nice with great vibes. The prices are great. My friend got the steak and cheese, which he said was AMAZING! I had the grilled chicken sandwich which was also good. Will be back for sure!

Bravo Bar knows what it’s good at: being a laid-back, no-frills, neighborhood bar. I agree with the other reviewers– Mike adds a very personal touch. The beer selection was pretty good for a dive, although the lighting could use some sprucing. It also advertised itself as a sports bar, but the 2 TVs are pretty small… but overall, a great, personal bar experience. Chill patio area too. And I’ll be back to try the $ 6 happy hour that includes a hot dog, a beer, and a shot of something…

I love this place. Not only because it’s 15 seconds from my front door. Nor because their specials are effing phenomenal. Nor because the burgers are yummy & Tracy is a stellar bartender. I love it the most because Mike is the sweetest, most gracious bar owner ever and the buffalo wings, I think, may be my favorite in the city. Also, pupusas.

I came here for a work happy hour. It’s really a hole in the wall and it’s still pretty new. They have fantastic happy hour deals(buy one get one free drinks and drafts) and their draft selection is great. The service is not great but the food is pretty good!

Increased the price of their papusa by 100% to $ 4 dollars. Then they did not even change the signs to tell the customers that they had increased their prices(black board still said $ 2).

Came here on a Friday evening after work, before rolling down Georgia Avenue for a concert at the Howard Theater. People have said it all when it comes to the value(great combo deals), the ambiance(very relaxed and homey), and the staff(friendly and attentive). I wanted to share a short anecdote that just made me so happy and solidifies that this bar is run by good people. A homeless-looking man walked in while we were there and was asking for money at the tables near the door. Rather than shoe him out and forget about him, Mike, the owner, took him to the end of the bar, sat him down, gave him a glass of water and chatted with him, and then sent him on his way. It was this small gesture of kindness, as well as the smooth way he handled an uncomfortable situation for his customers, that is indicative that this place cares about it’s customers and the neighborhood. I hope Bravo is here to stay.

Awesome! Really cool, relaxed vibe. Has some couches, booths, as well as the bar. Very big open space. Outdoor seating for warmer months. I am blown away by the amazing happy hour(5−9pm) special of a beam, beer and a hot dog for $ 6. Three things for $ 6. Awesome. The $ 8(Not $ 13 or $ 14 or $ 15) cheeseburger and chicken sandwich were both really tasty too. As part of their opening, they have the $ 6 combo for a pabst and a shot of beam, I think. This place is an awesome deal, a really cool space, and has really great service. The food came out quickly and the bartender was super friendly. I think this is my new favorite bar in my neighborhood!
