We’ve brought BBQ Bus out to 2 corporate events and both times it’s been a huge success! First, Tadd is wonderful and so easy to work with. Just have to pay a deposit(½ the expected head count) to secure the date. Second, the food is delicious! I personally enjoyed the spicy pulled chicken sandwich w/a side of slaw and it was spot on. I’ve also heard good things about about the pulled pork, falafel, beans, corn & mashed potatoes. Lastly, the team is quick & flexible. We ran out of food at another office and Tadd happily packed up the truck & headed over to save the day. All-in-all, BBQ Bus is a win! Can’t wait to check them out at Truckeroo in May!

These guys were kind enough to hook me up with a free meal while I was working nearby. Pulled pork was amazing, so were the baked beans and mashed potatoes. I’ll be back for sure!

Food can only be as good as the person who make its and let me tell you Tadd and Che are some good people. BBQ chicken with pickled jalapenos for me.

Came here for lunch and stood in line to get the lunch menu! I got pulled pork with 2 sides and a cornbread. The cornbread was delicious but I didn’t enjoy the sides too much because of the seasoning. The seasoning is overpowering but it was good. The portions were huge and the pulled pork was really good! I was surprised to the quality of food because it came from a food truck! I will definitely come back again

BBQ Bus has a special place on my list of favorite food trucks, particularly because they frequent Capitol Hill so often — there’s only so much Tasty Kabob or Yumplings you can have before needing some change. BBQ Bus makes really tender pulled pork, so tender it doesn’t even need to be dosed in sauce. I normally go for their one meat picnic plate, choosing their pork along with their baked beans and slaw. The cornbread is good, though nothing special. Their prices are very comparable for the amount served.

This truck was parked outside my job. I must said the thought of pulled pork sucked me right in. The pulled pork was in a big strips and I prefer that my pork be a bit finer. They also seem to be inconsistent in the bread option they serve, once I got fresh cornbread and the other day they had biscuits. I wasn’t all that impressed with the food as the quality seems to have gone down hill.

BBQ bus recently catered a wedding I coordinated. They were INCREDIBLE. Che and his staff were so on point, helping to keep the schedule on track on their end in addition to providing the incredible food and bar service. I’d highly recommend them and can’t wait to bring them in for future bbq weddings!

Finally, some solid BBQ in DC! I had the brisket sandwich with two different sauces(a KC style and a Memphis style, I forget their names). Both sauces were very good. The brisket was pink in the middle, with a good bark, tender! It fell apart with just a bit of a press from my fork. Well done! Also, the side of baked beans was a good compliment, and didn’t do what I often dislike about many BBQ places: making them taste exactly like the BBQ. It had a different, more tomato-based sauce than either of my BBQ sauces, and was a great side.

Second visit — fast and friendly service. I asked if their sauces were gluten free, he advised me one was not(it contains soy sauce which has wheat). When I ordered the three meat sampler he offered to hold the biscuit. The woman making the food did not hear him and put the biscuit in top of the food — he caught it and asked if I needed a new box or if they could just remove the biscuit. I said I was worried about cross contamination — so they quickly fixed me a fresh box. Of the three I thought the pork was best, moist and flavorful. The chicken was very tender and smokey, but not as flavorful. The brisket was tender, but I did not think it had much flavor. The slaw was crisp and bright — great with the BBQ. The beans were not«packed with more sweet & spicy flavor than you thought could fit in a bean» as the menu suggests. I thought they were undercooked and under-flavored. Even with a good amount of sauce 24 added. Overall good meal and service. Next time I’ll get a different side…

I need to preface this review. So here’s the thing, you never know what you’ll get(quality wise) with the BBQ bus. Unfortunately, sometimes the quality is hit or miss. When it’s a hit, oh man is it a hit. Side Items: The real stars of the show. All I can is: bacon mashed potatoes. No further words need to be written. Pulled Pork Sandwich: Unfortunately, this item is either a hit or miss. When it’s good, it’s very good. The pork is tender and as you can pick your own bbq sauce, you can really do no wrong(unless you pick the wrong sauce). BBQ Ribs: Good. I would recommend ordering these during the summer definitely a fan. The ribs are consistently good. I will say that I wish they would open a hole-in-the-wall shop in DC with regular business hours. It’s hard to try to catch them during lunch time. In addition, their prices are a little costly for the portion(larger side quantities please).

Definitely a fan of the BBQ Bus. They stopped with a few other food trucks outside of my office yesterday and I knew I had to give it a try. I had the BBQ Sampler which was $ 11.95, came with 3 meats(pulled chicken, brisket and pork) and 2 sides(fire roasted corn and black bean salad) plus 1 piece of corn bread. I tried their #5 Sauce(Smoky) and #24 Sauce(Spicy & Tangy). I really liked both of them. Overall, for the price, they do offer a great value/sampler with all of the options. You can get sandwiches, samplers or meat by the pound. Highly recommend if you see it for lunch. Very reasonable prices for BBQ in DC.

I used BBQ bus to cater a private party for about 30 guests. I selected BBQ bus over their competitors because their prices were lower, their Unilocal reviews were almost perfect, and because they used a per-tray pricing scheme instead of a per-person pricing scheme. Since I didn’t know the exact number of people who would attend, ordering«four trays of BBQ» was easier for me than ordering«BBQ for x number of people». Several of my guests were notoriously picky eaters, and two were southerners with strong opinions about BBQ. None of them complained about the food when it arrived(5 minutes early, I might add) — and in fact I got numerous compliments on it. If I had one complaint, it’s that the extra BBQ sauce pints we ordered came labeled with the number of the sauce(#5, #23, etc.) and that there was no guide that told us what each number meant.

This review is for the food truck at I Street in DC. The brisket is excellent as are the ribs and the smoked corn too. The slaw is good but not great. The cornbread needs work. What happened here? Beef, it’s what’s for dinner(said in a Sam Elliott voice).

I didn’t have any expectations and didn’t read up on them at all… but damn! I got a mixed plate with fire roasted corn and collard greens and it was so amazing! Nice portion sizes, extremely friendly and inside of a brewery… what more can you ask for? You need… I repeat. NEED to go check them out.

Their food is just awesome. Coming from Texas, I didn’t think Maryland would have great barbeque, but this place has it. I have tried their sampler platter(a must for the indecisive), their baby back ribs(a bit tough, but very tasty and meaty), their appetizer tacos(very fresh and delicious — love the black bean and corn salsa), their fried pickles(great fry size cut and yummy dipping sauce), and their sides are amazing as well(cider vinegar slaw, mashed potatoes, and BBQ baked beans are legit; haven’t tried the others). Denizens would not be quite so awesome without their food. Going here helped me not miss home so much!

With food trucks you never really know what you are going to get even with great looking pictures of the food. With the BBQ Bus, I did have some high expectations from other reviews and reading the menu. And the bus didn’t disappoint. Wanting to try it all, I had the BBQ sampler. Afterwards, all was good in the world. It is apparent they take their time to cook/smoke the meat correctly. And the line to get to the BBQ also says this is true. They offer several different sauces to accompany as well, so regardless of the flavor profile you like, they will meet your need. My only feedback other than it was really good is that the bun seemed to serve no purpose. If they were able to toast the bun, I think it might provide more use other than looking good. But just taking it out of the bun bag and putting it in the box didn’t do it for me.

What a bbq gem. I loved my pulled pork with their take on Memphis style sauce. The owner has admitted he has never been to Memphis, but he tried his best on what he would think would work. He succeeded. #18 sauce was good and had the right consistency to make you wanna slap yo mama. I got the single protein plate with pulled pork, a roll, mashed potatoes, and beans for $ 10.99. It is a generous helping of pulled pork and now I am craving it more as I write this review. I got this from their food truck when they were out by F Street during Friday lunch rush. I can see how this would be great hang over food, so kudos to you for coming out at all hours of the night to feed the need of those drunks. I bet you turn a pretty good profit. I look forward to dining on your BBQ soon enough again.

I’m a big fan of BBQ Bus. My regular order is the Pork BBQ sandwich with the coleslaw/onions on the side and a side of BBQ Bus beans. The pork is well-cooked, juicy, and comes on a strong kaiser roll topped with BBQ Bus #5 sauce which I love — a thick, creamy smoky/sweet BBQ sauce(people who like vinegar-based BBQ sauces won’t like this sauce). I also love the BBQ Bus beans(although they were slightly undercooked this past time) — the spicy/sweet combination is excellent. For $ 9, it’s a very filling meal.

BBQ especially pulled pork sandwiches are really becoming my favorite things to get from food trucks, so I had to give BBQ bus a shot when I saw it in my usual food truck area and I must admit I am glad I did. Guy behind the counter was nice and efficient, keeping the line moving and getting orders out quickly while still be cordial. Food itself was pretty good and the price was right, for 7 dollars you get a sandwich and a choice of a side. I picked bacon mashed potatoes for my side and that is definitely a good choice, I can’t believe I went this long in life without dropping pieces of bacon in mashed potatoes, definitely a must from now on. You can tell the potatoes are fresh and not the instant variety from the taste and texture. Sandwich was good, pulled pork was nicely cooked, I wish it had a little more #5 sauce as by the last bite I was out of sauce and the pork was a little tough going down but overall taste was on point. Definitely worth a visit, if you’re a BBQ fan, just look for the little yellow bus and you can’t go wrong.

So I was hungry for BBQ today and I happened to notice that BBQ Bus was at Metro Center. I’ve been gun shy to try a BBQ food truck again after bad experiences with two others, but today that didnt matter. I got a combo plate with pulled pork and brisket. My sides were cole slaw and BBQ baked beans. OMG, HUKAONO… as we say back home in Hawai’i! Da pulled pork was nice and tender, but the brisket stole the show. I added #18 and #24 sauces. Of the two, the #24 sauce was better and had more of a bite. I added some to the beans and YUM! I prefer mayo based slaw so I didn’t enjoy theirs with vinaigrette, but overall it was a very enjoyable BBQ experience. I will definitely be visiting these braddahs again!
