Stumbled upon the place and had been years since I had eaten at a Arthur Treacher’s. Karen and her husband were warm to welcome us and we ordered enough food to feed a team of 8. The fries are cooked fresh as is the fish. Add a little pepper and vinegar and you would think you are on the streets of London. Been back several times. A keeper and as long as they keep the quality up, you can expect to see lines wrapped around the block at this place. Well worth it!

An Eats Creature for Arthur Treacher! Although I’ve experienced better, this little hole in the wall on Florida Avenue is a sight for sore eyes and a quencher for the desire for Arthur Treacher’s(AT) fish & chips! With more and more of these eateries disappearing, it’s was a great and surprising experience to have a meal there! It was good and tasty in the traditional sense. Make sure you go with the intent to carry-out, as this location is really small — having only 5 stools to wait while they cook your order. The fish and chips were both to AT standards, but I was not impressed with their hush puppies. I’ll be back!

Disappointed but willing to try again if I get a craving for a bulgogi sub and hush puppies. The bulgogi meat was good but the white cheese sauce or mayo ruined it. Hush puppies were crispy but lukewarm.

Not a bad place to get fish and chips. The pricing is a little confusing when ordering the packages vs the a la carte options but the food is solid and I like the fact that it’s just down the street. The korean owners are fairly friendly and run this family business by adding some Korean food options as well. Of course fish is expensive so it’s not the cheapest option in this area, but not bad. No place to sit though

So glad this place is in the neighborhood! Everything is excellent; the fish, fries, chicken, and hushpuppies are all so good. And the fact that they have Korean food too makes this the best Arthur Treacher’s in the country. The bulgogi sub was amazing. It was such a great combination of sauces and ingredients and meat that I really enjoyed it. The young lady who seems to run the place is also really charming and friendly. I’m definitely going to keep coming back here.

I was intrigued by the fact that the place serves Korean food so I stopped in to try it. I was a bit disappointed. The prices are reasonable, the man behind the counter was pleasant, and the Bulgogi sub came quickly, but it just wasn’t very good. Maybe their regular fast food(the fried seafood and chicken) is good, but I don’t really care too much to find out, I doubt I’ll try it again.

Good ol fashioned fast food. My fish was pretty damn fire and the fries were seasoned perfectly. Since Koreans run this joint I’m definitely coming back to try the bulgogi sub sandwich.

The secret about this Arthur Treacher’s, which they advertise on a big yellow sign outside, is that they also have some delicious takeout Korean food. I’ve only ever had the bibimbap but it is worth your $ 7. Better than to be expected from Korean food at a takeout fish and chips place. If you want pleasant Korean food in a sit down environment go to Mandu. If you want great takeout and you live in the neighborhood come here.

To be honest, after reading all of these reviews, I have had a bit of a change of heart, but I guess I will just have to schedule a return visit. My trip was, err, less than satisfying. I, too, like many of the other Unilocalers, grew up with Arthur Treachers in my backyard. then as I grew older, and coincidentally, as I started to appreciate fish and chips more, they all closed. So of course, seeing one pop up just a few blocks from my house, I was stoked! **I have to say though, I am very curious of the status of this place. Like is it an official franchise or what? The place is so strange that it doesn’t seem much like a franchise, but the food clearly is. Hmm. So yeah, the dynamics were a little strange. There was an older Asian man watching tv when we arrived and a younger girl working the register. Once we placed our order, the man jumped up and started cooking away. Now, we went later on a Friday night, so this may be part of it, but I feel like the oil they were using was not hot enough. If you’ve seen my other reviews, you’ll know that I like things deep fried. I love the grease typically, the crispier and crunchier, the better. But it was just plain off here. I walked the food home(again just 3 blocks) and dug in. But everything was just completely soggy. Like not a little bit, as in, it’s melting on my plate! I ate all of it because I needed some good pre-going out absorption, but I paid the price all night via a bad, bad stomach ache. I generally was unsatisfied with how greasy and soggy everything was. The taste and seasoning seamed right, and I was hoping for so much more, but it just wasn’t there this time around. I’m hoping that it was some combination of when I went/time of day/etc. but now after reading all the other reviews, I think I need to give it a second try. Watch for an update soon!

I dropped in for some fish and shrimp. Got home, opened the box, and it was bulgogi. Oops. But you know what, it’s good! I’ll go back for the fish at some point, but the beef is quite tasty — it’s nice to have a new option in the neighborhood.

This review is heavily biased with nostalgia. I grew up near DC, so Arthur Treacher’s was the best fast food around back in the day. Sadly like Little Tavern, on the day the music died they were all gone. You can’t go home again? Yes, you can and you might as well deep fry it! Seeing the exterior of the restaurant will lead those familiar with the AT’s brand to be suspicious. There is no green roof. There is no yellow and green Arthur Treacher’s lamppost. It is a hole in the wall building. Do not be dissuaded, this location is legit and affiliated with the chain. The fries are the right shape, so it must be. You know the thick fries I am talking about. There are other seafood restaurants that offer the same pub fare, but do not waste your time or fried calories. Arthur Treacher’s is the only real deal. It is not high class dining. It is what it says it is, British Pub food. This location also has a smattering of Chinese meals. That is odd, but forgivable. As the commercial said, «Delicious fish from the cold glacial waters of the north Atlantic, shrimp fried in a secret batter, crisp boneless chicken, coleslaw, chips…»

I don’ t go to DC for having meals but for businesses. It was ALWAYS difficult to find right restaurant with reasonable prices. Guess what? Friends, I found one. Great taste of fish and chicken. Not only that but also delicious Korean menu– Bulgogie is so delicious. I have not tried all of them yet. But you know I will. Sometime line is long due to the many friends. I call in advance. Good thing is that the food is cooked under your nose. It is fresh, clean and smells so good. I am always happy to see the inside of kitchen to figure out how clean they are. Join the party!!! PS:l wish Unilocal has grading system up to ten stars. And I will click for ten for this restaurant.
