We were in Waseca camping for the Memorial Day weekend when we decided to go to the Boathouse on clear lake. We were out on the lake in the boat and docked at the restaurant. I was a little surprised that the entrance from the lake was a little disappointing. But once we got in the lower bar it was awesome. We were met with the nicest bartender and had drinks and appetizers.
The boneless chicken wings we found out were hand breaded and hand cut. They were great! The kids both had meals and the food was cooked perfectly. I recommend stopping in here if your on the lake or just in town.
Also Sunday’s is happy hour all day long in the lower bar. Come check it out.

My family has gone here twice in the last 2 weeks. The walleye fingers are awesome, as are the mac & cheese bites. All of my children love this place and beg to return. The sirloin bites appetizer is always tender and juicy, even when cooked well done. Our service the first visit was a little better than the second, but the second visit the restaurant was also quite a bit busier. The prices are definitely fair for the quality and quantity of food. We will be returning very soon.

I think this place is on the upswing! I have had many mediocre experiences, but as of late I have been very pleased. Their new boneless wings are so damn good! Buffalo Wild Who? I’ll take the Boathouse’s any day! And their new lunch buffet is totally worth it. Check it out!

Went in the afternoon. Sat outside, wind was blowing, and had no issue with any odor. The view is beautiful. Got to see a ton of pelicans.
Had the Reuben with tots. Good. Had a lennie summer shandy. Good prices.
Wife has the tacklebox. Fried heaven.
Service was normal, not to slow nor fast.

A simple vodka tonic, an order of deep-​fried cauliflower, and a wonderful sunny afternoon overlooking the lake. (DO NOT sit outside if the wind is blowing over the lake towards you. Pee-​Yew it stinks).
Spent a wonderful afternoon on the deck here, had a few drinks, and other than slower service it is a really nice spot! I did note that we were 2 of the 3 people in here, so having so little interaction with the server was strange to me.
The price is right, the food (from what I had/​heard) is good, and the location is fantastic!
Pro-​Tip: This place has six parkingspots that will be completely filled by three cars, be aware that you will more than likely need to park in the street if you go there when it is actually busy.

I ate here in October and will be returning today as my work brings me to Waseca on a quarterly basis. Waseca has limited options for full-​service. If you want a burger and a beer, this is the spot.

I would not go out of my way for this place, they have a great location right on the lake.
The food was not bad, I had a simple cheese burger, a bar and grill should be able to make a decent burger right? well i was a little disappointed.
Looking around the placed seemed to go after to seniors, which makes a lot of sense based on the food I received.
Would i go back, maybe…

It’s cool for hanging out and having a beer during Sleigh and Cutter festival, but I wouldn’t eat here. My husband and I have eaten there 2 – 3 times in the last few years and have always gotten sick afterward…

It’s like a local Denny’s. Regular American food. Criss-​cut fries are called «Fishnets» here. Hidden away from the main streets, but nicely located right on the lake.
