Let me start my review by saying I don’t even like clams. But all the rave reviews brought us here. My husband and I tried the Clam Cakes((((heavenly)))) and Stuffies(he loved, I thought they were okay). We shared cups of New England and Rhode Island chowder. Soooo flavorful and the clams melted in the mouth. This is by far the best clam chowder I have ever had!!! We also shared a cold lobster roll. They are very generous with the lobster. It tastes fresh and is light on the mayo, which I love. To top it off it is great being right on the water while eating such amazing food! We pulled in at 3pm on Tuesday, so there was no wait for a table. We are super glad we came here and cannot recommend it highly enough!

Good place, though busy on a Friday night; we had to wait in line about 15mins. Ordered our food outside, brought it to the nice, covered seating area. Fish n chips were generous, clear chowder was fine. Will return.

Seafood platter was excellent. Minor disappointment was having small bay scallops instead of the sea scallops. Had the Manhattan chowder which had the right amount of spices and was excellent. Would have given the meal 5 stars if not for the smash bay scallops.

This time we came at 1:30 on a gorgeous weekday afternoon, and yes, it was far busier! Tried the fish sandwich this time, and it was really good, if a bit overpriced. In fact, DP said it may be best fish sandwich she ever ate! Chowder really good, doughboys amazing of course. Root beer not worth the price.

My sister and I decided to take a ride to «the water» friday May 27. We chose Oakland Beach for a destination not realizing a carnival had set up on the lawn. Bonus! After walking through the midway, sis suggested we check out the new Iggy’s restarant… next door to the old Iggy’s restaurant. We were immediately drawn to the outdoor seating with a view of the bay. The hostess greeted us and told us we would have a 45 minute wait but we were free to wait at either the inside or outdoor bar(which serves the full menu). I don’t know why I opted for the inside bar other than two seated and only two seats were available right then. Bad choice. The bartender was nice enough but a bit overworked… there were two bartenders serving. I asked her for a cocktail menu/wine list and got the dessert menu with tge other side featuring dessert martinis and drinks. I did not want that on a nice warm day… not with seafood. I asked her if she had a different cocktail menu or wine list. She looked around, tossed up her hands with a shrug and said, «No.» Interesting. We did get seated after 45 minutes, outside on the patio. Lovely, clean area with tables well spaced out. I understand an large awning is to installed and they are planning on adding more tables. The bar area looked well thought out and spacious and there is even a smoking area far away from eating guests. We split a lobster roll which was served on a gluten free roll which was perfectly toasted on the grill… which is hard to get rightvwith stupid gluten free rolls! The lobster salad was SCRUMPTIOUS! We opted for the cold version… fresh lobster, no complaints other than it was a tad… just a smidge pricey at $ 17.99. We also split the clams zuppa. My sis asked roughly how many clams were included in the order and she was told by our new waitress that we would get a dozen. We did… we got a dozen full clams but we also got MANYMORE clams in the broth and they were super tender, fresh and… well, perfectly cooked. The zuppa was not particularly great and the garlic bread was horrible… coated with paprika. My sister couldn’t eat it. I also had a cup of red chowder after questioning which chowders were GF and after a bit of confusion on my part, I phoned a friend and opted for the red which was GF. It was just okay. Here is the only spoiler of the night: there was, in fact, another cocktail menu with specialty drinks we would have happily chosen. Instead, I got a poor Oakland Long Island iced tea and my sister got a poor piña colada. Overall, a lovely dinner on the water, friendly staff(the bartender was new, it turned out), FRESHSEAFOOD but be prepared to WAIT during the summer. Worth it!

The location is pretty and perfect for a warm day meal. This place is usually super packed, but we managed to come on a weekday early afternoon to avoid the long line. There is indoor/patio seating but no table service. Just order at the window outside, pick up the food at the window next to it then go find a seat. We waited at least 20 min for our order because I ordered the baked scrod which I’m sure nobody orders here lol The fish was very fresh and yummy with the simple butter sauce, generous portion too. However rest of the food was nothing special. The fries are not crispy enough as I like it to be. The clear RI clam chowder was okay but not the best I’ve had.

If you live in Rhode Island and you haven’t been to Iggy’s, there is something wrong. The only thing to complain about Iggy’s is the wait. But at least you’re outside in the sunshine, by the ocean.

I had a student tell me about Iggy’s(I am not originally from the North East) and decided to check it out. It was good, but I don’t truly understand the raving reviews. Here is my take: I got the clam cakes and the chowder. Both were fine, although I need to remember that clam cakes are like Hushpuppies(perhaps this is a midwest term, I am not sure, basically fried dough ball) and I should choose fried clam strips any day over clam cakes. I never really get much clam goodness any time I have clam cakes. The white chowder was good, but it had a lot of potatoes and didn’t seem to have much clam. Someone in my group got the red chowder and it seemed to have more clams. The fried clam strips were good. What I expected from fried clams. The doughboys were yummy, big fried pillows of dough with sugar. Shake the bag when you get them. There are benches outside and it is right by the water.

Iggy’s. A Rhode Island seafood palace. I’ve finally ate at Iggy’s. I’ve tried to go once before but the line was far too long and it was way too chilly out not to have a jacket on. So with my parents, boyfriend, and roommate in tow, we finally conquered the line at Iggy’s. Luckily we went at 5:30pm on a Saturday. The line was only about 9 groups long. We sailed through fast and waited about 15 – 20 minutes for our number to be called(415 to be exact!) I had already scoped out the inside seating before when walking around to see the water. We were able to grab to two tables and throw them together to fit the 5 of us. So 4 out of 5 of us got the Clam and Scallop Dinner with whole bellies. I can’t believe that it came with the fried scallops, fried whole bellies, french fries, cole slow, and the chowder of your choice. The price was unbelievable great. God, just writing this makes me want to drive our to Oakland Beach. Anyway everything was unbelievable. The odd one out got the lobster roll which also came with french fries, cole slow, and the chowder of your choice. He said it was a little dry but the lobster still tasted delicious. I tried the clear chowder, or as some would call it Rhode Island Chowder. It was honestly great. I think I liked it better than white chowder. Not having all that cream makes me able to eat more of my meal(said the fat kid.) We also tried Iggy’s Root Beer. I loved it. I wish it was on tap because that bottle was not enough for me. We didn’t get any clam cakes because we were so panicked when it was finally our turn to order, which makes me totally depressed because everyone says they’re outrageous. Nor did we get doughboys because we thought we could order them at the creamery but it turns out you can only order doughboy sundaes and not just doughboys. The line was way too long to wait for just doughboys. That being said I really need to go back just for clam cakes and doughboys. That trip will be made soon. All in all, 5 stars is necessary. The price and quality are too good to pass up on.

It’s not going to be easy to differentiate from the countless other reviews of Iggy’s, it’s one of those Rhode Island institutions the locals all know and love and the tourists are told about it from their hotel front desks. I parked right before the traffic circle and was glad that I did, even if we had to walk a few hundred extra feet. There was a 30 minute line the last time I was there, 2:00 on a Sunday afternoon. I tried my damnedest to call in an order and pick it up, right from the line. Nobody answered after five tries, I get that they were busy but I can’t imagine being a customer in Warwick calling from their home wanting to do the same thing and not ever being able to get through. I didn’t realize they had sweet doughboys as well so my wife talked me into them the last time and they are now my favorite thing about Iggy’s with the clamcakes a close second. Forget the overly greasy and tiny bay scallops that came with our dinner platter, almost as a throwaway to the much better clam bellies. And early on in the afternoon, I was miffed to find out they no longer had a snail salad being promoted as a special that day. I believe the menu was a dry erase board or chalk and should have been removed. They get an additional point for being able to eat your wares on the beach, you can count on your fingies and piggies the amount of locations in New England where this is possible, without having to drive a bit to it. It was one of the nicer days of the early spring and we even got a little sunburnt sitting out on a park bench and devouring all that is seafood-holy. Iggy’s is doing a lot of things right but there are some dishes to avoid if you can help it, like the not so great scallops. You’ll love just about everything you get though and be back for more later in the summer, after learning the appropriate times to go when the line doesn’t extend to Naragansett.

This place is straight trill! Love the scenery, love the food, love the seagulls I have to fend off. Seriously, they will come at you like an unstoppable rebel force. At any rate, get some food here and chill on Oakland beach, it’s amazing!

I can’t say enough amazing things about this place. It is my all time hands down favorite seafood place and I love when I can go with my parents. Coming from outside of Philadelphia, PA, I never really experienced New England seafood, and never like this. I’ve been to chowder places around Rhode Island my freshmen year of college, but when my JWU chef recommended this place for their clam cakes and chowder, I knew I had to try. He was not joking when he said they had the best. They absolutely do, and I have never had such amazing clam chowder before. The first time I went I ordered clam cakes and New England clam chowder, the white kind, and I was in love. I have never loved clam chowder and clam cakes as I did then. I have been back several times now, and never once had a bad experience, expect the lines can get insane depending on when you go. I love the calamari, especially in the butter and garlic sauce, with the hot banana peppers. I also love the tuna grinder sandwich, but my all-time favorite is the lobster roll, which I just recently tried on my last trip there. It was awesome, and I have never seen so much lobster and real lobster on a lobster roll before, and I just fell in love. It was served warm, and just was fantastic. The service there is amazing there too, there is always someone cleaning the tables, sweeping the floors, and making sure the dining room area looks clean and neat. There is not a lot of seating though, and when it gets busy, it gets crazy jammed back in the dining room, but it is so worth the wait. Never want to try another chowder place again.

Came here for lunch during a road trip from Boston to NY. The fried haddock is probably the best thing here. Portions are pretty generous. We tried the Rhode Island clam chowder and the New England clam chowder, and though growing up a Boston girl and preferring the New England version, the Rhode Island one was better.

Many people look forward to my reviews because of the sass and highlighting of the bad things. Well. One time, these guys made me angry because they refused to take a coupon. That’s the only bad experience I have ever had here and that was over 3 years ago. I have always loved the food and atmosphere here, whether summer or winter. It’s right near the ocean and the prices are very fair. I especially appreciated the customer service I received on a recent trip. I’ve been living in San Diego for the last few years and came back this time not only to see family, but to bring my significant other, who has NEVER been this far Northeast. I do not like seafood. Strange to leave a review for a place with«chowder» in it’s name, yes, but their chicken, fries and doughboys are the culinary route I go, here. HOWEVER, the boy? Big seafood fan. This was his sole experience getting chowder, as well as a stuffed quahog, while on the East Coast. He LOVED it. He’s now a big fan of Iggy’s. They were well equipped to handle a light winter crowd, they had their fireplace going, and they even RTed me on Twitter when I complimented them. Great job, Iggy’s!

Clam cakes and chowder are a must! Always delicious and served hot. Doughboys are also delicious. I love the fact they’re open year round. Pricing is reasonable.

So delicious! Tried a few things in the menu while enjoying the breathtaking views. Had the lobster tail roll, scallops, clam chowder, cheese fries and a scoop of Iggy’s creamy ice cream! The lobster roll was tasty. Not the best I’ve had in Rhode Island(title reserved for Block Island) but yummy! The clam chowder was so good. Had a cup and wanted more. Perfect for the brisk day! Not a big fan of curly fries with nacho cheese but the table enjoyed it. Definitely worth it to try. As far as ice cream, it’s winter so they normally store about 40 different flavors they claimed but only had 10 in house. Tried the chocolate and cookies and cream. You can’t really ruin ice cream so I wasn’t disappointed

I gota say… this was my first time here, and i was quite pleased. my son snd i had the fush and chip combo, it came with a choice of salad or chowder and clam cakes which wss our choice. The fish is a delightful scrod white and flaky with a delicious batter, not to heavy and not to thin. The white chowder is mmm mm good! The clam cakes are a bit heavy for me, but clearly my opinion! It has a good amount of fries and cole slaw too! We also came when they had a shake sale. buy one get one! Select ice cream flavors. but what kud dont like cookie dough! There open year round in Warwick location! The lines can look intense but no worrys, it moves real fast, and the service is a pleaser!

Stopped by Iggy’s for a quick lunch before a wedding in Warwick, RI. We ordered: — A bowl of New England Clam Chowder(white) — A cup of Rhode Island Clam Chowder(clear) — Clamcakes! New England clam chowder was good. Good consistency(a little on the thicker side, which we like) and great taste! It was our first time hearing about clear clam chowder(think reg New England clam chowder, but no milk). Kyle was a fan. I found it a little too fishy for my tastes. The real winner: the clamcakes… dipped in the white clam chowder! Bomb. I didn’t even think I would like the clamcakes and thought they would be über salty. Nope. A hot ball of buttery, crispy awesome. Ambience: Casual. This place has a lot of seating! Great for larger groups! This place is also right on the water! Beautiful view! Service: Not so great. The lady who took our order did not seem to have it altogether and was not helpful or pleasant. Parking: Iggy’s has a designated parking lot! Score! Overall: 3.5 rating(rounded to 4 stars) Nice place to try if you are in the area. I do understand that this is a chain but we thought this was good.

A beautiful day was our reason for traveling 2 hours to try Iggy’s at the Warwick, RI location. Also, we heard a lot of good things about it so my wife and I had to check it out. The ride there from CT is just ho-hum. Nothing nice to see until you arrive at Iggy’s. Then, the beach and water view is nice. Iggy’s works similar to other shoreline seafood places. Meaning you get in a line(long but moved fast), order/pay, receive a number, wait 10 minutes, get your food from the window, then find a table to sit and eat it. To get a general taste of several items we ordered and shared one lobster roll and one combo platter. The food was hot and presented well. That was good. Then the tastes… — NE clam chowder: Delish with just the right amount of typical ingredients. 5 star. — Lobster roll: Cold lobster salad served on a toasted roll. Not bad but bland tasting. Based on other reviews we really were expecting it to be much better. — Fish fillet: Fried nicely with a light breading. Tasted good and fresh. 4 stars. — Clams and scallops: Tasted like these were fried together. A clump of small bay scallops under the clams. The clams were also clumped together and both items were over cooked, tough and similarly bland tasting. Definitely disappointing and sadly, these spoiled the whole experience. So my rating combines the good with the not so good. Maybe they had a bad day. Maybe the oil in a few of the fryers needed to changed. Who knows. I will sum this by saying that we passed a lot of better places in CT to get to Iggy’s. We won’t do that again. Oh well… my rating really is 2.5 stars.

This was one of our first Rhode Island seafood extravaganza experiences. We enjoyed the chowder and the fried whole belly clams! It was on the water in a quaint location. Parking can be tough but the best things in life don’t come without a fight. Beware: this is a lot of fried food. If I was doing it over again I would probably just order the protein and then get a cup of soup. All the fries and onion rings were just to much for me to handle… theres always next time right?
