We made a reservation and it was empty. Requested a book but it was dirty. The food was good but the service was horrible. We had to request everything and overall ruined meal with lack of service.

Finding yourself in town for work? No idea where to have dinner, so you play sushi roulette during your stay in the middle of the country? Don’t chance it — save yourself from going to just any sushi place with random standards for getting fish from the coasts — open Google Maps and get directions from your current location to Wasabi Sushi. I’m working my way through all of their specialty rolls — I still haven’t found one that I didn’t like. I have a shellfish allergy, so sushi is always a game of chance; the chefs and serving staff were extremely understanding and made sure that my stay was not only tasty, but top notch. If you don’t feel like going to an overpriced sushi restaurant owned by Robert Dinero, come here instead — you will not be disappointed. The sushi is better, the atmosphere is more welcoming and the service itself is more attentive. The only regret that I have is not thanking the manager for such a GREAT evening of food and service. Stellar noms, Wasabi. Thanks!

My experience started off poorly. Waited near 15 minutes for the waitress to take our drink order. I ordered plum tea, then another ten minutes goes by, and she says they don’t have plum tea. Service continued to be slow. Our sushi came in a boat and all of sauces didn’t come with it. We asked for the soy broth that was to come with one of the rolls and the waitress said she doesn’t bring it because nobody wants it. Overall the sushi was good, but the service definitely ruined my experience. Probably would not eat here again.

Poor customer service, slow, inferior quality, small portions, topped off with high prices. Don’t waste your dining budget here.

Amazing! Spectacular! Authentic sushi restaurant, I have been looking for my new favorite sushi joint since moving to Missouri and I have found it! Reasonably priced and excellent quality. Had sashimi and nigiri and the quality of the cut was perfection. Cannot speak to the rest of the food but if a sushi restaurant is able pull off raw fish they typically do the rest well. Very clean and well maintained space with very courteous staff. Only bad thing I could say is that I had to leave! I am in Love with Wasabi!

This place has a great Monday night sushi special! The place is always packed. We have been about 3 times now and the first 2 we had the same server and the first time she forgot to charge us special price of our appetizer and the second time she lost my debt card the 3rd time we went we got a different server and was happy with him. The tools a good, it’s just hit or miss on your server.

Always great. Consistently good! In this area this is the best spot for sushi. I highly recommend. Sit outside on a nice evening.

The Monday night happy hour lasts all night and offers a selection of two for one rolls and discounted appetizers. We liked the Clayton roll the best but the Special and Crazy roll were pretty good too. Look at your bill before you pay. I stupidly just threw my card in the checkbook when it came and noticed after I paid that I was charged full price for my appetizers.

I have been here several times during lunch time and once at dinner. I have never really been impressed with any of my experiences at Wasabi in general. I have been to 2 different locations and both places have managed to forget a part of my order so now I assume this is just their practice. I know, it isn’t true but it sure will leave you wondering. I have had their sushi as well as their hibachi items and have always thought they taste fairly good but the sushi portions are much smaller than anywhere else that I have been to(and I am not just talking about STL standard). The service here has always been nice, especially during lunch hours since they usually will only have 3 tables occupied or so. There’s usually not a very long wait for your food which I love! With that said, it is pretty pricey for what you get. There’s other sushi bars around where you could get the same service and quality of sushi or better that are also better as far as the quantity.

Can’t believe this place only has 3 stars. Definitely not indicative of the food or service we’ve experienced. The Playboy and OMG rolls are fresh and delicious! The edamame portion is huge. My son had the spicy shrimp teriyaki with salad. Excellent as well. Highly recommend Wasabi!

Wow — a great find near Kirkwood. Best sushi I’ve had in St. Louis. Love the OMG Maki roll!

My daughter and I wanted to have a nice dinner before our last night of the Muny season. They have a happy hour special, Buy one get one free, but it is only from 5 to 6. We arrived at 6:02, we were told too bad… seriously two minutes… They do have outside seating and it was nice. My daughter was in charge of the sushi selection. I wanted a glass of plum wine… it was nice but when we got the bill the glass of wine was $ 9 seriously I didn’t mean to pay for the whole bottle and only drink a glass. Service was okay, not very friendly or knowledgeable. I cant say I will try other sushi places before I go back. Okay here is my bonus I did get to use the Unilocal check in offer of 10% off our bill.

Before visiting St. Louis I made a bucket list of foods I missed and foods I’ve been dying to check out. Wasabi has been home to me as I ate it regularly before I was pregnant with my daughter and I ate the dragon roll(chicken teriyaki, avocado, jalapeño, cilantro, cucumber and chili sauce) once a week when I was pregnant. I’ve never seen chicken teriyaki sushi anywhere before. I’m a huge fan. It was just the kick. I’ve tried to replicate this since it’s not available in Hawaii and it’s still not 100% like Wasabi. My service here was on point, however my rolls were a little bigger than normal and not rolled tight enough. A few of them fell apart the moment I touched them which made the big roll in my mouth a messy experience. This was my first time at this location. It was on par with the other Wasabi’s in the area.

Really wanted to like this place, but sadly, I dont like anything about it. We ordered four rolls off the specialty rolls, and they were mediocre. And VERYVERYSMALL. 6 tiny pieces to be exact on these rolls, execpt for one that was 8. Such skimpy sushi. $ 42 for a bland meal. Unfortunate.

They suck so much. I came like 40 minutes before they closed and they basically made us leave. I’m never coming back!

Visited wasabi sushi for lunch with a couple friends bc we were hungry for sushi. There’s no other sushi places near our office so with an extensive Unilocal search, we stumbled upon wasabi. I was really looking forward to this lunch bc they offered 10% off our bill with a Unilocal check-in and was voted best sushi by Sauce Magazine apparently. This place didn’t really live up to the hype… but it wasn’t a horrible lunch. I ordered a sushi lunch deal that came with Miso soup and three rolls. The Miso soup was good but a little bland. My rolls were shrimp tempura and crunch rolls. I didn’t care for the crunch roll and let my friends eat it. The shrimp tempora rolls was fine… but nothing outstanding. While this isn’t the best sushi place in STL, I’ll probably be back next time I’m craving sushi for lunch.

We visited yesterday for the 10% off coupon. The food was great, and the prices seemed comparable(actually cheaper after the discount) with other sushi places in the area. Thumbs up! Free WiFi available. And there is this ‘filthy fish tank’ in previous reviews, pretty adorable fish…5/5 The place is decently decorated, with crystal, wood and china, and artwork on the walls, soft and warm light and pleasant scent, and the fish tank of course… It is a pleasing place to be in for relaxing when there are fewer people, but turns into insanely chaotic mayhem during peak hours, or when there are screaming babies or baseball fans yelling at the televisions. 5⁄5 Service 2⁄5. We have been here thrice. Our second visit(3 months ago), the hostess left immediately after we were seated, with nothing on the table. We had to flag someone down multiple times to get our chopsticks and napkins. There were only five customers and it took 38.4 minutes to make a Chirashi. We asked why we didn’t get our miso soup she said ‘Oh I’m so sorry, I just got here and I didn’t know’. Yesterday, our third visit, the hostess forgot the miso soup also because she is newly recruited. Lucky coincident, we just discovered the identical twin sister of the hostess three months ago. Overall 3.626 rounded to 4⁄5.
