Delicious burgers and worth the stop over the other fast food places along the 30. Large burger patties, the menu does not do them justice.

I have have enjoyed some pretty good burgers in my day. A few that others claimed were the best(and they were damn good!) but there was always Schoops in the back of my mind from when I was a kid. I hadn’t had Schoops in around 9 or 10 years though and thoughts crossed my mind«Is it really that good of burger? My taste bud have changed quite a bit since then.» Well, I recently got the chance to try it again. My brother and I got to go to the last Notre Dame football(Obligatory«GOIRISH!») home game this year and we made it a mission to get to Schoops after the game before it closed. After the amazing day of Notre Dame football, Schoops was icing on the cake. We came a little late and felt bad but there was no way we were not gonna have Schoops. It was just how I remembered. Classic style. Surprisingly clean interior. Wait staff and cook were very helpful. No issues whatsoever on service or style. Then came the burger. My brother and I got doubles with most of the works(we both hate onions) We both got an order of onions rings and split an order of of the Irish Nacho fries(or whatever it’s called). This was a lot of food but the Fighting Irish green wasn’t the only green we enjoyed beforehand so the amount of food was no issue. Burger was just how I remembered. Almost like thicker but still big pork tenderloins. They give you a fork and knife for a reason lol. The burgers were an absolute mess. I managed about 4, no silverware, bites before it all went to hell. This is not to worry. This is what will, generally, happen. The quality is just as I remembered. Not better or worse. All the ingredients combine so well! You can’t beat that fresh beef edge crisp either. Still the best burger I have ever had. The onion rings are top knotch but not the best. The Irish Nachos were very good and totally worth the purchase! Sour cream, beef, cheese, and chives on fries? You really can’t go wrong. All in all, it was a great finish to an amazing day and I wish to return sometime soon. This is still my favorite burger as I would prefer this over(Avon folks here) Bagger Dave’s and(Carmel folks) Bub’s Burgers. It is seriously worth it to stop off and eat!

I’ve only eaten here twice although I have lived here my entire life. I love the cherry coke and the pork tenderloin. The sandwich is huge and really good! It has the fun diner feel, but is clean and the staff is great. Fun place to eat.

In the Music business, I make regular trips from Chicago out to the Sweetwater Mothership in Ft. Wayne. This takes me through a number of bucolic Indiana Hamlets. As FtWayne trips usually include a right pigout at Don Hall’s Factory or Power’s, the return jaunt doesn’t usually have a lunch break, but sometimes yes. We’ve driven past the stainless steel clad diner under the Schoops banner for years, each time saying«we’ve got to stop there», and then go to Culvers. Finally, I put my foot down and said«Schoops it is!». From 55 mph on Rt.30, Schoops looks cool and retro. Up close, it looked like a shithole. The metal cladding on the outside looked a little ramshackle, there were derelict neon sockets, and the door was filthy. Undaunted, we entered. Inside was quite a different story. Neat, clean, lively and inviting. I did learn the exterior was in the middle of renovation, The menu is not wide, and I didn’t care about anything but the Burger. I ordered a Double-Cheese wit Onion Rings from the pleasant waitress. My pal had eaten previously and ordered only a Hot Cocoa and a piece of Pie. My pal’s Cocoa arrive with my Soft Drink, and I was amazed at the mug he got. The Cocoa was kind of spilling down the sides of the large cup in a most appetizing fashion, and there was a majestic crown of whipped cream. He said it was delicious. The Burger was titanic in size and flavor. The patties had those crisp edges you only get when fresh beef is smashed on a hot grill. Their«Everything» had Ketchup, Mustard, Relish and Onion. I don’t like Lettuce and Tomato on burgers, actually, so this was right up my alley.(Although you can get these garnishes for a small upcharge). My late pal, the Noted Eater and Philosopher Big Tim Demopoulos used to say the best burgers required a shower after eating, from juice dripping down your arms and covering your face. The Schoops Burger qualified for this status. A made-from-scratch masterpiece. My pal said the pie was exemplary as well. So were the Onion Rings. Either the staff knows everyone who comes in the joint, or I must appear like a serious eater(or perhaps just an overfed oaf), ‘cos the cook came out of the back to ask me «How’d you like that burger?» My mouth was full, and I gave him a big thumbs up. There are a number of Schoop’s in and around Northern Indiana/Southern Michigan, and I sincerely hope the quality is commensurate at those establishments. Sorry Culvers…

pretty good service, kinda busy when we went so it was understandable that the food took a little while. The atmosphere was nice & the staff seemed friendly. The food was good but nothing spectacular. Although the chili & milkshakes were very tasty! If looking for a pretty good meal pretty cheap then here is a good choice.

This restaurant is spotless. Even the restroom was immaculate. Classic diner food, retro décor. Service was exceptional, and prompt. Everyone was very friendly, and laid back. Food is more pricey than drive thru, but the service and atmosphere make up for that. All food was hot and fresh, chicken fingers are exceptional.

Schoop’s is my favorite place in town actually sit and enjoy a burger. Schoop’s is anything but fast food. Offering American food that’s is definitely worth the wait as well as every penny you pay. When you receive the food you won’t help but wonder how your going finish all of it. After the first bite, however, you’ll want to take another one home because it tastes so good. The burgers being fresh, handmade every time have a signature taste. The staff always amazes me, being nice and caring while attending ones needs. I became a regular because I am confident that I will never find better prepared chili cheese fries anywhere else. Crispy fries topped with Schoop’s delicious signature chili and hot melted cheese make it a mouth-watering dish anyone will enjoy. I have always recommended this place and always will.

Hamburger was freshly made, but in general, tasteless. French fries were some of the worst of ever had as far as taste and texture. Wendy’s or Burger King may beat these.

The Absolute BESTBURGERS I HAVEHAD! If you see this spot off the highway I highly recommend stopping! The burgers are so fresh and made to orders. The taste is always consistent! I wish I stayed closer to Schoops because they would know me on a first name basis

Funky old-time diner look, complete with counter seating. Decent burgers and fries, but I come for the REAL pork tenderloin sandwich(where it nearly hangs off the plate, not to mention the bun!) and the hand-dipped peanut butter malts!

Solid burgers and fries. Good customer service. Vanilla Coke is old school with vanilla syrup. Not sure what the deal is with the other complaints. This place is a great stop for a burger!

Stopped in while I was in the area on business. Bought a single cheeseburger with onion rings and a vanilla coke. Food was fantastic. Hamburger was very large with lots of toppings. I would rate this as one of the best burgers I have had. I was completely full and could not finish off my onion rings. Total bill was ten bucks which is what I expected from other reviews. I would recommend stopping if you are in the area.

Hey, its expensive. But the burgers are good. Dave Chappelle had a joke about welfare burgers. They serve those here. But its delicious. Try the Green River drink and the standard burger. The burgers get BIG here … be careful

So if you ever find yourself in the middle of god country, Warsaw, IN, stop in at Schoops for a pretty good meal. Milk shakes, malts and floats are all yum to the tum but they do lack the left overs, you know, when you order a milk shake they bring you the glass and then the mixing cup with the left overs… they need to hook you up with that. As far as the burgers… have one of the Doubles. They are thin hand made patties, very good and the melted cheese doesnt disapoint. Well that’s if you’re tollerant of lactose, cause you people who cant have cheese or milk… not much I can do for you. Oh! as your chilling waiting for your meal, chech out the décor, some pretty funny signs on the way. Enjoyable meal!

Yummy burgers, generous french fries, flavored Cokes, amazing milkshakes and great service. How can you not love this place? What I like: crispy edges on the burgers(similar to Steak and Shake but with lots more meat); waitresses who smile; chocolate malts(wow!); banana splits made correctly; refills on drinks without having to ask(the waitress just brings a fresh one to the table when yours is getting low!) Their competition appears to be McDonald s, Hardees, Applebees and so on. This is far and away the best choice in the area.(Even if there were plenty of other homemade burger places nearby I would rate them the same.)

This is a small diner chain that’s been around since 1948. So… that doesn’t make them so ‘fake’. You can tell some of the stuff on the walls has BEEN on the walls for a good long time. I’m not sure when this location opened, but it’s not some stupid Johnny Rocket’s theme restaurant. Their burgers are more expensive than Steak and Shake, but they are MUCH bigger, and IMHO, heartier, and tastier. Yeah, I was surprised fries were extra. If I’d known the burger was so big I would not have ordered the fries, though! Was sad that there is no ‘real’ cheese on the menu, only American and Swiss. If there had been real cheese on the burger it would have been wonderful. I liked the small town feel. You could tell most people were regulars, which is always a good sign. Friendly staff, all very nice. Definitely worth a stop.

The burgers and shakes were pretty decent. It is like a cross between Steak n’ Shake and Johnny Rockets. I would go again if I needed a quick bite.
