Universal Stones

I checked this place out last after pricing my project with several other granite locations in Chantilly. Richard was my salesman, he graciously helped my wife and I choose our slab, and personally came to the house to measure and check my template, making professional suggestions. I paid the deposit assuming the price was for cash and carry because it was only a small bathroom vanity and two thresholds. His price was only a few dollars difference than the Chantilly stores but I decided to do business locally and the place was so clean and employees were so nice. When I got the call that my pieces were ready he sent them to my house with an install crew that fitted and installed all three pieces perfectly without issue. They were quick, cleaned up nicely and that’s when I knew I had gotten an amazing deal. The price to select and have it installed was within $ 20 of other cash and carry out yourself locations! Great service, great selection, and quick turnaround! I had to write this review to personally thank Richard for the top quality work, materials, and service! Before you buy any other kind of countertops from anyone else-​especially a big box store-​give Richard a call, you’ll be glad you did.

While the price was good, there were a few red flags that have affected the job. First, the saleman who came out to template the job brought corrugated cardboard. The edges on that are not firm, and when the precut granite was brought to install, it didn’t fit. Instead of trimming the stone, they cut my sheet rock to slide the countertop into the wall. Now I have a backsplash that moves, and tile installation is proving to be a real problem. On another area, the stone was too short, and I have a gap at the back that is wider than the tile backsplash, so food and crumbs will fall in the space. Very poor standards. Both pieces should have been recut and templated properly. Insist on a professional job. I wish I had.

I used this company to replace my old contertop with their granite stones. I have to say they did a good job. I got what I am asking for and am completely satisfied with their work!
