Independent shop that knows how to take care of customers.
A friend asked me to knit cotton lace mitts like mine in a different color. I called several local stores asking for the same brand and weight as mine. Most said no, they didn’t carry the yarn, but might be willing to order. When I called the Red Thread, Barbara didn’t have my yarn, but offered two others in stock that she believed would knit up the same. Listening to me and finding a solution made the sale! Red Thread will be my first call in the future.
The shop is on a side street in Warrenton near ample parking. The shop is bright and inviting. When I walked in, the owner was chatting with another client, but glanced and nodded to acknowledge me. After I browsed a few moments, she walked over to check if I needed assistance. I like the relaxed, helpful atmosphere.

Stopped in at The Red Thread to look around. I ended up buying some yarn for Christmas presents for a couple of family knitters/​crocheters.
The two ladies running the place were very nice. I don’t know much about yarn shops — but they seemed to have a good supply and selection.
They accept Visa and MasterCard — but they currently do not accept American Express.
