I passed by this place on my way home from a paddling camping trip in the ADKs. I just wanted a sandwich for lunch and had eaten at the nearby Subway in the past and was headed there. I’m so glad I stopped here instead. The sandwiches are HUGE. A half is plenty for two people, a whole will feed the family. Stuffed with meat and excellent bread, with your choice of toppings and sauces(I chose the horseradish mayo, which was great). I’ve been to many sub shops and this is among the best I’ve encountered. Clean? The entire food prep staff is covered with disposable paper smocks. I’ve never seen this in a sandwich shop anywhere. There is also a meat store. Though I didn’t buy any meat here, I took a look at the offerings and I know my beef. The beef was well marbled, far better than what you will find in a supermarket. Of course the prices are higher than a supermarket, but the crowd at the meat counter proves that a lot of people will pay a bit more for top quality meat. They also have a small supermarket that sells the basics and a sit down restaurant area. This will be my regular stop when in the area. Anybody who goes to Subway instead of here is insane. $ 6 for a half or $ 10 for a whole you are getting a sandwich piled high with meat, cheese and whatever else you want on it. If you want a sandwich on the way to or from skiing, camping or anything, this is the place to go. Highly recommended.

Best. Stop. Ever. The seductively-named«Meat Store» is situated adjacent to a gas station on Route 9, making for our perfect one-two punch before we hit the road from Gore Mountain back to NYC. Inside, you’ll find reasonably-priced cold cuts, sandwiches made to order, a ton of butchered meats, and a huge line of other hungry patrons hankering for some roadside delicacies! You’ll also find all the gas station convenience store items you’d expect, like bagged snacks/chips, candy, coffee, cold beverages, and more.
