I recently stayed here to celebrate my anniversary and the New Year. We booked the Robin room for our 2 night stay. Upon our arrival after a day of skiing Sugarbush, we received a very warm welcome from owner, Graham. After a lovely tour of the B&B(which includes hot tub, a cozy living room with a fireplace, book/reading nook, breakfast room, and a small shared kitchenette with a sink, fridge and glassware), we were led to our room on the third floor. The rooms are extremely cozy with great Vermont views. The bed was by far the most comfortable bed I have stayed in away from home. Each room has its own heating system that can be adjusted(the heat is best distributed throughout the room by turning the small ceiling fan on, FYI!) Each level of the B&B is separated by a set of stairs with a closed door, resulting in very quiet and private sleeping quarters. Although it has been stated in each review, I must say that the breakfast lives up to the hype! Our first breakfast included oatmeal(cooked for 1+ hour in the AGA cooker!), a peeled & stuffed baked apple and the most delicious blueberry pancakes I have ever eaten. Our second breakfast was equally as delicious and included oatmeal, fresh berries and a variation of baked french toast with orange marmalade(my mouth is watering as I reminisce!) The coffee was delicious and we were greeted by freshly baked treats each day by the front door. This is a wonderful place to come to enjoy a weekend getaway. We skied each day at Sugarbush but I would have been just as content snuggling up in the B&B with a book, boardgames or a movie. It is truly the perfect place to get away from it all(no shoes and no TVs should truly be embraced more often!) Wireless is available, cell phone service was great and portable DVD players accessible, if you absolutely must ‘reconnect’. However, I highly recommend avoiding it. Thank you, Maxine and Graham, for a wonderful stay. It will definitely become our new ‘tradition’.

Our stay at the Sugartree Inn was nothing short of charming. It didn’t take long for us to settle in, relax and feel right-at-home. Maxine and Graham were gracious hosts with some killer tea selection(of course, they’re English!). The inn features a large living room with lots of books to read and games to play in a quiet environment. My boyfriend and I had a lovely hour where we sipped afternoon tea over an intense game of chess. And if you’re looking for even more peace, there is a swinging chair in the backyard that you can lay in for hours just listening to the sound of wind rustling through trees. In the evenings, a magical box of fresh, warm cookies tends to appear by the entranceway. It required all of our self-control to not scarf down the entire batch. The 3-course breakfasts are amazing. We had a hearty oatmeal with local maple syrup, berry pancakes with whipped cream, and caramelized bananas. Maxine is a phenomenal cook. Our room was beautiful, spacious and pristine(we stayed in the Cardinal). I dedicated a full 10 minutes to rolling myself up in the featherbed mid-day. One of my favorite details about the inn was that they didn’t purchase those mini-bottles of toiletries. Instead, they had full-size bottles of soaps, which I thought was a wonderful touch of eco-friendliness. Tip: Bring your slippers!

It was fate. We were meant to find the only two Londoners in Warren, VT. Best part? They were the inn keepers, Maxine and Graham! They are friendly and amazing cooks. They served 3-course breakfasts(example: oatmeal with Vermont maple syrup, stuffed french toast, and cooked apples with cream) with delicious scones with vanilla crème fraîche as an added bonus. If I had an AGA stove I would cook and bake a lot more than I already do. Their yellow cooker was AMAZING. I definitely suffered stove-envy. Upon arriving Graham told us that we were upgraded to a much bigger and nicer room at no extra cost. Really? Sweetness. Our stay here was very relaxing. We wish were able to use their hot tub but we forgot our swimsuits. We didn’t expect to need it in Vermont. Next time…
