I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experiences at this course. This is my hometown course and used to be a great place to come out and golf. That being said, I have had so many bad experiences with the current ownership that I will never golf here again until it is sold to a new owner. I always go back hoping it will be better, and it never is… Where do I start will my complaints? First of all, they put in video poker, a bar, raised the prices, and stopped taking care of the course. It is like golfing on a cow pasture, you will lose your ball in the fairway… The cost for this rough 9 hole course is more than Wildwood, which is a far superior, well maintained and professionally managed 18 hole course. Second, I showed up about 4:00 on a Saturday with two friends ready to golf 9. The owner turned us away saying he wanted to close early. All he had to do was take our money and let us walk out on the course, and then he could lock up and leave. I’ve done this at other courses when walking. It’s not like we wanted a golf cart and he would have to wait around to close. Instead, he had this cocky attitude as he was turning away good business, and we were all extremely turned off that he would treat paying customers this way. He wasn’t even apologetic that we drove out there, and was quite rude. Also, I had the exact same experience as the other reviewer in that they would not honor the paid value of my expired groupon voucher as it states in the fine print. Apparently they are perfectly happy taking my money when I’m not golfing, but not taking my money when I want to golf. I cannot recommend this golf course to anyone. I hope it comes under new ownership soon, who will focus again on providing a fun place to play, good customer service, at an affordable rate.

What a terrible place to spend your money. My wife and kids bought a groupon for me for fathers day. It a long way away and I was never able to get out there. I called to ask if they would still honor the groupon after it expired. He said No. I get that they have an expiration date for a reason. What he said next really shocked me. He said that the $ 40 my wife and kids had paid was also only good if bought $ 40 more worth of golf and cart. I read him what the groupon said«he amount paid WILLNEVEREXPIRE and must continue to be honored by the merchant after the promotional value expires. The amount paid may be applied toward any goods or services offered by the merchant if the original goods or services specified on the voucher are no longer available.» He said NO we will not honor that. I will never play golf here. I will never recommend this course to anyone and I will be sure to address this with Groupon and anyone else that will listen. Shame on you St helens Golf course.
