Dick Adgate Florist, Inc.

I have been ordering from Dick Adgate on Elm Rd. for many years since moving out of town. They have taken care of my needs several times with great professionalism, and delivered beautiful, appropriate arrangements for anniversaries, «get wells,» and funerals. They are extremely kind and helpful when you call. And I do recommend calling rather than ordering through the website. Not that I’ve had a bad experience with the website — I just find if you call, they can talk to you about your needs and what you want, and you will get a better arrangement delivered.

Too much unnecessary drama with this place. I got a call from the delivery guy on delivery day saying «I think you got the address wrong. Did you mean (blank) address?» No, I know where my parents live — they’ve been there for over a decade. Do these people use print Rand McNally maps from the 90’s? Type the address into Google Maps and it comes right up. Or Mapquest, if that’s your preference.
Also, the original flowers I ordered were unavailable. I got a call after I placed the order, asking what I wanted to substitute. It would be nice if once something was unavailable, they would stop taking orders for it.
This shop is decidedly low-​tech. Maybe it’s a different experience if you go to the shop in person. But if you live in another state and ordering online, there has to be a better option…

Pam is the wedding flower expert and she is the nicest person in the universe! She did a fantastic job putting together an affordable package for us and was very responsive to our questions and perspectives of what we were looking for. She works long days when there is a wedding as she was in the shop super-​early in the morning when my bridesmaid picked up the flowers for my hair, and she showed up at the end of our reception late that night to pick up the glass containers we were using for the day. It was nice that we didn’t have to worry about returning those to her after the big day. The flowers were beautiful. There were just a couple things that weren’t what I was expecting, although we did most of our planning via email and I should have used more pictures. I think Pam did a beautiful job overall! Thanks Pam!!! :)
