I was born and raised in Warren and used to eat here as a kid. We stopped in on my first trip back in 30 years and was truly charmed by this place. The host greeted us warmly and the server was wonderful. So let’s talk food. The bread was literally a half loaf of thick sliced crusty bread — but oh so soft inside! My husband had the chicken Parmesan — moist and served with an amazing tomato laden red sauce! The white clam linguini was delicious with large clams and just the right amount of garlic. The Alfredo sauce — I’m not sure what to say. It was hands down best any of us have ever tasted! When the host learned of my daughters deep love of the bread he returned with an entire loaf for us to take home. This is a well run restaurant with truly delicious food! Thanks for the lovely welcome home!

Dissatisfying experience here tonight. Normally eat at the bar, quiet, a little conversation and decent food. Told server we wanted to eat at the bar, seated us with no comment one way or the other. Disaster! 70 Prosecutor’s were there for a meeting, they were ALL at the bar — it was like eating at the feeding at the zoo! What a ratchet, all blabbing away — could not hear yourself think. Bar tenders were going crazy — our appetizer took forever to be served. Asked the bar manager for some consideration on the bill for the racket — response was«I don’t have any authority to do anything». Food was decent, but who needs customer service like this. I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

Let me start by saying that I had not been to this restaurant in 30 years… it was a favorite spot of my grandfather who died in 1984. I was in town and decided to look for it. Amazingly.,.it was still great and remodeled/updated. Great food and drink selection and the service was excellent!

This place was excellent. I have come here a few times. It’s always a place I recommend to my family and friends. Great place to hangout with your friends. Last time I had pork shank, based on the server recommendation it was huge and unbelievably tender best I ever had. The staff was great and food was amazing again.

we went here after the worst experience of service I have ever seen and up a creek tavern nearby. we came here and our food was good but our service was excellent!!! The prices were reasonable and selections reflected and upscale restaurant. I had the almond crusted chicken with a cranberry Demi Glacé but it was more like a cranberry glaze… still very good but being a chef I do tend to notice these things lol… over all they made for a great dining experience and I will be back :)

This was my absolute favorite restaurant growing up. I went there weekly from the early 80’s until the mid 90’s. It’s not quite as good since they changed owners and vegetarians beware… their sauce ALL has chicken stock according to a server who wasn’t supposed to tell me that.

I was concerned because the place doesn’t look on the outside like what you will find inside. Outside is decent, inside looks good but the food on my one trip here was phenomenal. I had a simple steak, baked potato and beer, So tasty and so well prepared. The cook on the steak was perfect and the marinade(which I don’t usually eat on my steak) put it over the top. For sure you gotta stop here unless you have something against great, decently priced food. Plenty of bland fast food around, save the steaks for me!

We have been eating here over 30 years, it was sold a few years ago and the new management kept the menus and food as high quality as it has always been. There has been interior updates made and I would recommend this place to all. Perfect for a special evening out or a nice lunch. Quality cooking and a very nice atmosphere. Big selection of main course dinners.

Stopped here with a friend for a quick lunch. We both enjoyed their fresh baked bread, wedding soup, and I had a nice house salad. He proceeded to get their beef gyro which he has told me was wonderful and different and worth trying. I had the chicken francaise. It was a delicious dish with a wonderful lemon and clarified butter reduction. Every bite melted in my mouth. On the side I had penne marinara, which I did not like. It was typical banquet fare with a super sour and acidic sauce. I am weary of any pasta dish covered in parsley. We sat at the bar, which is very upscale and organized. The service was fast and friendly. The bathroom was extremely clean, smelled wonderful, and had a comfortable atmosphere, so it must have changed post some other reviews of this place. Owner made our drinks, moscow mule, they were delicious. Would be 5⁄5 if they balanced and seasoned their marinara sauce up to local standards. All in all great place for upscale family or business meals as well as banquet events.

Great service and very flavorful food. Our waiter, Stephen, was fabulous! Very attentive and even made us a special lemonade with soda. It was very good. Anniversary celebration, so prime rib special lasts through September. I had veal parmigiana? I loved it! Nice ambiance was the foundation of it all.

Stopped here on Father’s Day for dinner, sat outside on patio was great with friendly service. Tried the fried mozzarella was not impressed with the flavor of their pasta sauce. Had the fillet was very tasty, Green beans were a bit bland. Steak was cooked properly which is always a pleasant surprise. Balsamic dressing on salad was enjoyable. Overall was a pleasant experience would try it again just unsure about the flavor of their pasta sauce.

Went here Saturday night. Walked in a set of 1970 old school wooden double doors into a dark dingy space that had an intial musty smell. That was my first impression. Was seated in the bar area. Service and food where very prompted. I had a charred rib steak which was very good and my wife had a chicken kabob which she enjoyed. Drinks where sangria and margarita which where adequite but nothing to write home about. Overall the food was above average but not outstanding. The waitress we had was very good. Very prompt and always checked on us. The décor needs updating badly. The mens bathroom was a little dirty and smelled.

Time of visit… 8:30 Saturday night. I’m in town visiting and found this restaurant on Unilocal… The parking lot was ¾ full. When we walked in, there was a large party leaving and the man at the desk seemed a bit frazzled, but did manage to say he would be right back to help us as he hustled after someone going out the front door. There was a short wait, so I asked if there was a bar and he showed us where to go. The bartenders were all super busy and it took several minutes for us to even be greeted, but when we were, she was very nice and they had an okay selection of wine. Only a few available by the glass, but I’m always happy with a Santa margherita Pinot Grigio(who isn’t?). I’m sure we got the best server in the house and the cutest booth in the corner. I loved the peppers in oil. The Caesar dressing seemed sweet and I liked the fresh shaved cheese, but I loved my date’s wedding soup(I like salty foods, so beware if you don’t cook with salt). I asked for recommendations and she gave us the steak, lamb or white wine dishes as her favorite and we went with the charred steak medium and lamb medium rare. My lamb was fantastic UNTIL I tried his steak… OMG it looked so black, I was sure it couldn’t be good, but that thing was so amazing. I had such a hard time eating the lamb after and took most of it home. Thankfully, my sweetie is generous and it was 18 ounces, so the two of us couldn’t even finish it. I was so full, I didn’t indulge in dessert. There were some delicious sounding options, but he is in love with anything with ice cream on top and got the brownie sundae. Lol. Classy, baby. Anyway, we aren’t from here and didn’t know what Sweetest day was, but our server wished us that and she definitely delivered a great experience for us. P. s. I noticed the same manager guy schmoozing several people in the bar, but never made rounds to check on other people. There was a cute lady that seated us who was much nicer and seemed happier than most of the staff. The first impression is always the most important, and that’s why I am only giving 4 stars.

Terrible service, took over an hour to just serve two dishes. Server constantly came back to ask about orders, even then the food still came out wrong. I had the lamb burger, worst decision ever. The patty was charred black on the outside. I would tell you how it he meat actually tastes but all I tasted was soot. My SO had the prime rib sandwich, that too was disgusting. The meat had no taste to indicate that it was actually prime rib at all. She felt cheated. On top of that the French onion soup that came with the meal was salted like the chef wanted us to have a hypertensive crisis, I wondered if they just used seawater to make the soup. We made out dissatisfaction known to our incompetent server, expecting the manage to come talk to us. That never happened. I will never come to this restaurant again and will actually advise against anyone else from going.

My all time favorite restaurant in my home town area. I have been going here since I was 6 or 7 years old. I miss Mr. Abruzzi coming by our table to play Happy Birthday to me on his trumpet, but even under new ownership I still had a great time. My whole life I have been coming here for Eggplant Parmigian and some of the other delicious red sauce staples. For the first time I had something different, as I had the«Signature Rib Steak» and it was so tender and delicious. The outside was perfectly charred, and the rib eye melted in my mouth. I also had the Beans & Greens with Sausage for an appetizer, and it was spicy and delicious as well. In the hallway by the banquet halls there are photos of Café 422 from 1950 when it was first built there. Photos of the chefs and wait staff from that time period also adorn the walls. I love, love, love this place.

This review is for the new Boardman location. Just opened in October, very nice décor. Sedar(one of the owners) was always at the host station, insuring prompt seating and greeting everyone with a smile. We ordered the wood fired pizza for an app along with the mussels. Both were very good, the marinara sauce on the mussels was amazing. I had Chicken Francaise, by GF had broiled Haddock, both dishes were good. Prices reasonable, tad upscale, we’ll definitely be back. Call ahead for reservations.

Great food most of the time. A little bit yuppy overall and a little darker lighting than for my taste. Good place for date night regardless.

I was in town for business and the staff at the Fairfield recommended this place. My coworkers and I were able to find items to our liking on the menu. One of the people in my party wasn’t quite sure what to order, but asked the server about a couple things and he settled on the veal. I had the white fish with peppers and the other person in my party had the eggplant Parmesan. We all left full and satisfied. Drinks were kept full, the server suggested items we were interested in(such as the hot peppers with oil for the bread), the food all came out piping hot so we knew it was fresh. Bread and soup/salad came out quickly and the entrees were served just after clearing the soup/salad course so the timing was great. I take off a star because the restaurant had an odd smell like a barn. Maybe it was someone in the restaurant, but it had the same smell at the entry and where we were seated. Décor was great without being over the top.

three words… bug in food… Ok so I came here for my birthday dinner(i was visiting boyfriends family). I knew that the vegetarian choices in this area were going to be limited but everyone suggested this place. It was packed! We had to wait at the bar for over a half an hour and even there we had to wait a super long time to get drinks. When we sat down I ordered eggplant and it came with a salad. There were 7 of us at the table when our salads were delivered. I looked down at mine and perched right on top was a grub all curled up. I casually tapped my boyfriend on the shoulder and asked him if he thought that was a bug. He looked and said he didn’t know. I took my fork and moved it to a salad plate where it uncurled and WALKEDAWAY… The waitress apologized profusely but there really isn’t any coming back from a live bug on your food. I will not be going back.
