I have been here three times now with a group of friends. The first two times were great. The food portions are a little small but you don’t really go there to eat. The third time we went our waiter was Ron, he was EXTREMELY delayed with taking orders and bringing out drinks and food. At the end of the evening he brought out everyone’s bill and then proceeded to say that the computer messed everything up and put everyone’s tab on one bill(there were 10 of us keep in mind) so not only was the«computer» messed up but he didn’t bother to write down what anyone ordered. So he came around to me and asked what all I had to drink and eat. I told him exactly what my bill was and he came back with a check that was totally messed up. He over charged by two expensive beers that I did not have and his response to me was«well you probably had way more to drink and don’t remember so I’m giving you a deal» which was COMPLETELYOUTOFLINEANDUNCALLEDFOR. I don’t go out to get hammered, I was out for a friends birthday and know for a fact of what I had that evening. He wouldn’t change the bill. He also messed up two other bills that were in the party, adding on extra drinks that no one had ordered. I have never complained about a service but this experience was so bad and I was so upset at the way I was treated that if Ron is there next time I will be walking out and going somewhere else. I hope I’m not the only one who has had this experience with this waiter and I surly hope that the owner takes care of the fact that his employee is acting this way.

Friendly staff, great craft beer and world wine selection, something for everyone in the family including vegan items on the bistro menu, and the food is flavorful yet well-designed to pair with beverages and other dishes and not overpower anything.

We really wanted to like this establishment because the food was pretty delicious and the wine sommelier Don was amazing and super helpful. However, our waiter Ron(not to be confused with Don) was inattentive, abrasive, and overly opinionated. Our friend, who is a picky eater, wanted an item that was unavailable. Instead of making a recommendation or suggesting another option, he made her feel as though her request was ridiculous. Then he brought our other friend an item she didn’t order and suggested she eat it because it is «better» than what she chose. THEN charged her for both items!!! Following these incidences we talked to the manager about the above and he offered to comp us free dessert. This made us feel better about the situation until the defensive owner came over and treated us like children who were asking the world. Meanwhile we are just a bunch of 30 somethings trying to get together and enjoy each other’s company over the holiday weekend. Thank god for Don, he made the experience tolerable.

Great experience at Barrel33. I went here on a Saturday night when they had live music entertainment in their new bistro section, which is attached to their wine store. Our small group tried a few different items on their menu and were pleasantly surprised with the dishes. I had the Blackened Cod Tacos, that came in a pair, and were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The wife had the Pulled Pork Toffle, which is like tater totes flattened together with pulled pork on top; which was filling and good but a little dry because of the excess potatoes compared to tasty pulled pork. We also had the side of grilled asparagus and flat bread entrées which were both great. Lastly, we tried the recommended Banrock Station Moscato that was pretty tasty. All in all, a great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, good small entrées, with a wide variety of wines and beers to tickle your fancy.

Up front, I do not work here or know anyone who does, but a great place deserves a great review. You cannot ask for a better place to have a drink, great food, and an atmosphere in which to wind down. Tucked away in the«Giant Eagle» plaza on East Market Street in Howland, Ohio, it is a buried treasure you must uncover. The owners, bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff, are amazing and knowledgeable of their products, and thus, have this place high on my list of must places to stop. It is not your typical bar with the typical bar food. The meals are very tasty, and prepared by professionals. The carry out wine and beer selections are plentiful and fairly priced, and if you are looking for that perfect gift for your libations appreciating friends, pick up a few on your way out the door. Certainly a worthwhile stop for an intimate experience with your significant other. I wish they had a six star rating. I have been here a few times for the entertainment, which also compliments, and does not take over, the overall experience. Put this place on your places to go list. Clean, customer friendly, entertaining. Enjoy.

Barrel33 is truly a gem in Howland! The atmosphere is great, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and their selection of both beer and wine is amazing! Their appetizers are all delicious, I’d highly recommend any of the toffles. Oh, and anything with pulled pork! Their handcrafted cocktails are simply out of the world. All of the ingredients are fresh and each one is made with a little extra patience so they’re not just thrown together in a glass. This is the perfect place to go when you’re looking to grab a drink, spilt some awesome food, and relax after a long day.

The bistro is new. I’ve been coming here for great beer and wine for a while. The beer, wine, and now liquor are as awesome as ever but now the food joins the club. I had caprese salad — great, and the lobster and asparagus risotto. The prices, portions, service, and ambience were all excellent

Very cool place. They have a huge selection of beers and wine. They do offer classic mixed drinks as well. The staff was friendly. There are a few tables you can sit at while you drink. There are meat plates and appetizers for food. The food I had was okay. I would say it’s more of a place you stop to have a beer or glass of wine at after dinner.

Lots of wine here but we Just got beer to go. Really big selection of craft beer with a good number of Ohio beers. Friendly and knowledgable staff. They Are about to expand next door and will serve small plates to go with beer and wine. They plan to have draft beer and will fill growlers. Looking forward to that.
