Such a great mushroom burger — juicy and delicious! Great service and a small selection of craft beer.

A friend and I were in Warner on a Wednesday night and strolled down to The Local. The restaurant is tiny with a diverse menu and quirky décor, which includes a chalkboard, a display of matchbox cars and photos depicting Warner throughout history. I ordered the Warner Salad, which was tasty, along with the sweet potato fries. My companion’s first choice was not available, but he ate his entire order when it arrived. The service was brisk, although the place was packed. Based on this visit, I would recommend the Local to others.

We happened to stop by this place, passing through town, and we were so pleasantly surprised! They had several good vegetarian options in addition to the burgers, etc. which made us(two vegetarians) happy! The thai chili onion rings were the best onion rings I’ve ever had, easily. The garlic parmesan fries were amazing. The caprese sandwich and veggie burger were fresh, tasty, and very generous with the yummy ingredients. The drinks were nice and strong. The service was relaxed and friendly. If you’re anywhere near the area, go check this place out– don’t be put off by the exterior, which does not look like a «pub.» The feel is more of a comfortable local diner with a bar, than a pub. Very pleasant to sit and eat there. We are going to make it a point to go back sometime, even though we don’t live nearby!

The mail carrier that stopped at the Dalton covered bridge to tell us directions to the Waterloo bridge told us about The Local. Unilocal concurred. Great menu but I wasn’t hungry enough for a ½ pound. I got the corned beef train wreck –basically a Rueben with slaw. Also Clam chowder with bacon. Fantastic! My companion got chicken tenders– crisp breading & quality breast meat. We also got onion rings with their house-made horseradish dip. Too much food! This was a great place and has a bar as well. A great gem in a historic NH town.

Bacon. Beer. Bands !!! We were staying at the Inn down the street, and it was suggested to us that we have dinner here. At first we weren’t sure it was the right place, the big windows make it look more like a sandwich shop vs. a restaurant, but we wandered in. They don’t have many beers on tap, but the selection in bottles and cans is amazing. We grabbed a couple of apps, watched some tv then decided to wait to check out the band. While looking over the menu, I noticed a theme … BACON so I asked«how much bacon do you serve in a day» the response was«about 3 – 4 lbs, and we don’t serve breakfast» then he went on to say that all of the bacon was apple wood smoked from a local farm. All of their food is served in little plastic baskets, I got the turkey, apple, bacon grilled cheese sandwich which was very good, and my boyfriend was rendered speechless with the homemade sriracha ketchup that came with his fries. We went back again the next night and had a blast. It is very much a local place, but very welcoming and fun!

Stoped in here on my way from VT to MA Very friendly people, wonderful caring staff with great service! And great onions rings! They even had a live band start playing at 8p. Cute little joint! Check it out for a friendly American meal! Also, i’m not a beer drinker, but their selection was great!

I stopped in for a quick dinner on a Monday night. I had a sandwich, fries and a beer. The place is not fancy, is very casual and has great food, and service. They have a great beer selection and a good variety of food. The place has a bunch of TVs for sports and seemed to be very clean. Much like the name implies, it has a nice hometown feel to it. I’ll definitely come back.

Driving through, stopped by for lunch. Friendly staff & very delicious buffalo chicken tender sandwich! Tons of blue cheese on top, which I love! Hard to eat, but worth the mess! The Caesar side salad was just ok, pretty standard. I would definitely come back for that sandwich!

I was encouraged by the owner to give the tavern another try and I am glad we did. I went with the burger again and it was much better and my wife stayed with the salad since she liked it the first time there. Our server was very nice and attentive and we had a nice long conversation with the owner about acoustic music in the region. I would definitely go again.

So I’m a killington weekend warrior and I’m always passing through this way on Friday nights after work. We usually stop at another brew pub but besides the beer its gotten kinda blah. So this time we decided to try something new. And I gotta say, I’ll be having dinner here every Friday night from now on. The beer selection is copious and the food is indeed local and so delicious. Do not let the lack of urban ambiance scare you. This place has all that matters, great food, great beer and great people. Bonus its gentle on the wallet.

This place is great! I travel a lot for work and eat at a lot of places but I always look forward to coming home to eat here. Consistent, great service, and the owners keep that small town feel. Not to mention he has a great beer selection. I am here about once a week and recommend to anyone coming through or… if you’re a local!

I haven’t had the food yet, but the beer selection is dead worth the 5 stars. The owner is friendly and there is plenty of seating for everyone

Stopped by here for lunch on a road trip to Vermont. I just got a grilled cheese… But it was great! Sourdough bread was yummy and tomatoes tasted fresh. My hubby got pulled pork grilled cheese and he said it was awesome. French fries were cooked perfect. Our server was a sweet young girl. She was right on top of things. If we are ever in the area again will definitely stop by!

The Town of Warner is beautiful but we found nothing beautiful nor exceptional about the local… just some guy named Chick who smelled like tobacco.

Nice inexpensive American restaurant. Good service. Good food. Bacon cheddah burger was very good. Salad was good. Chicken tender appetizer was a little small(just 3). Fries and onion rings were good.

I guarantee you will find better food in a dumpster. The beer selection is the only redeeming quality, hence the one star. The food was stale, cold and old. Among the highlights… fries with dinner that must have been sitting under a warmer since lunch. The croutons on my salad were stale broken hot dog buns, no joke. Nachos has a few shreds of cold cheese and vegetables that looked so old, I hope they were pickled. It was so disappointing because the menu looks promising and hits a price point that suggests some level of decency. «Trainwreck» appears next to two menu items but applies to everything. Nothing in this place is fresh or prepared in a way that even aspires to mediocrity. Décor/atmosphere is a letdown, but the least of their problems.

Really? Who are these people writing these favorable reviews? These cornball antics may play well in the sticks, but this is Capitol City… er, wait, I am in the sticks. Maybe that explains it. We were drawn here because of the great beer selection initially. After looking at the menu with its appealing pub fare and reading the favorable reviews it seemed like a must try. All I can say is terrible. Low grade food prepared by inept teenagers is the best way to describe it. No love whatsoever — everything was slopped together and tasted like it came out of a can or sat under a heat lamp for hours. I’d be surprised if the fryolator oil has ever been changed. Never again. Tighten it up people.

WEBSITE: BAR Excellent selection of craft beer, interesting wines and a full bar including signature, one-of-a-kind mixed drinks. Worth the visit just for this! MUSIC&ENTERTAINMENT Tuesdays– Kids under 10 eat free 4pm till close Thursdays — Trivia Night Friday & Saturday — Live Music SEATING&SERVICE Great roomy atmosphere, comfortable seats, three big screen TVs, family friendly and the service is very friendly. It’s a nice space to take the kids or meet a friend for drinks in the evening. FOOD They recently re-opened having installed a new grill. They are now serving great burgers(many styles and choices) with an option to upgrade to buffalo if you are so inclined. Their website shows their entire menu, which you should take a look at giving you lots of reasons to come back! At the end of the meal our family split an enormous hand-made chocolate chip ice cream sandwich, which was delicious! SUMMARY If you live outside the Warner area, you need to check this place out, especially if you are looking to do something on a Friday or Saturday night. They seem to have an inside track on great talent in the New Hampshire area because every time I come, I’m blown away by a new band or artist that’s playing there.

Came by during open mic, put on by Rachel, and although it was a very cold night with little people out, the atmosphere was still great, and I really enjoyed hanging out. The food was pretty good, although they need to improve their sides. They brought the sandwich out with some greasy potato chips, and then later with some really salty tortilla chips. The Pig Pin sandwich was great though.

The Local in Warner had their soft opening last week, which is owned by two«local» couples. Located in the former Clovis Moon Café space, the interior was nicely redone which has a casual and clean open dining room with table seating and a full bar(with high chair seating) and 2 flatscreen TVs. There is a takeout counter is in the back of the dining room near the kitchen. The walls are decorated with large framed black & white photos of Historic Warner, now that’s very local! As for the food, the menu is still evolving which includes sandwiches, salads, homemade chili(beef or vegetarian), homemade corn bread, all beef hot dogs, frittatas(gluten-free) and several homemade comfort dishes(mac & cheese, pulled pork, cottage pie, shepard’s pie, pesto pasta, chicken enchilada pie). A few desserts are available including cookies, brownies and ice cream sundaes. A kids menu(any age!) is also served here too, The prices here seem fair, most entrees priced $ 7-$ 11. I stopped in here for dinner recently on a typical weeknight. I started out with a bowl of Beef Chili($ 5) served with homemade corn bread. The chili was very good and hearty(mild spicy flavor), which was thick with a tomato base with generous amounts of ground meat and beans. The homemade corn bread had a light soft cake texture was not too sweet with kernels of corn in the bread. For dinner, I ordered the Homemade Macaroni & Cheese and Pulled Pork($ 11) served on a plate with corn bread. The white mac and cheese had firm cavatappi pasta elbows and very creamy and very rich dense cheese sauce. The pulled pork had a smoky sweet taste, which was tender and chewy too, slightly on the dry side. The service was friendly and very prompt here. The food came out quickly after ordering, chili first, then the mac & cheese dish shortly after. I felt full and passed on the offer for a dessert. I would definitely return to The Local in Warner so I can try out the Shepard’s Pie!
