Mr.Sushi&Grill

With a name like Mr. Sushi, I was expecting some mundane, boring meals and a forgettable dinner. How wrong was I?
The interior is absolutely gorgeous — a complete makeover from the original hibachi restaurant a thousand years ago, which also happened to be my favorite hibachi. Thankfully they still have the same quality of food. The chicken hibachi was a monstrous portion of delicious noodles, buttery and garlic rice, gorgeous veggies, and tender chicken. I am food porning all over this because I was so in love. And it wasn’t even my plate of food — my poor boyfriend had to deal with me hogging it!
I ordered spicy tuna sushi which was, while not the greatest, still very tasty and worthwhile. But I will be back again very soon to get my own plate of that amazing hibachi.

A friend and I came here the other night and we were immediately seated and decided on what we wanted to order, 15 minutes passed no one came to ask us or ask for a drink, we had to flag them down. Finally we order the appetizers were very good. We ordered shrimp tempura and Gyoza. We order for a main course 3 sushi rolls. (rainbow, spider and orchard beach) all the rolls were mediocre. The rainbow wasn’t any good. You can get a lot fresher fish at any of the 10 sushi places along route 9′. I’d come again but only for appetizers.

What a disappointment! From start to finish a Horrible experience. Disgusting bathrooms, flavorless food & rude servers. Don’t go here, go to Osho instead.

What can I say about this place. The staff was amazing, the Hibachi chief was amazing. Way better than Oshio. And the food portions where huge. Oh and can’t forget about the Scorpion Bowl. Must go to place with a date or with the family.

Review based on rude customer service. I didn’t get to eat here, so I can’t judge the food but the hostess was incredibly rude. I came here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon (around 130, slightly past lunch rush hour) with my son. He is 4 years old, and has never had hibachi before, so I wanted to bring him for the experience. When we get there, I asked two for hibachi. She said there is a two person minimum– I said I would order two entrees. I explained to her it was my son’s first time– and we really wanted to dine here. She said yes at first, and so I waited while she was busy counting her cash drawer. A few minutes later, a waitress emerged from the hibachi area, they exchanged a few words and then the hostess then said to me no you can’t go. The restaurant was not busy — there was only one family in the hibachi area, and roughly three tables in the regular dining room.
This is totally unacceptable– you shouldn’t do business like this, first turning away customers who are going to pay when it’s not that busy, and secondly not extending courtesy to a child. My son is also very well behaved. It was just incredibly rude and for that I would say this restaurant is not kid friendly and I would never go here. They need to learn some basic customer service skills.

This was my first time at the restaurant. I was surprised at how large it was with part of the restaurant for hibachi cooking at the table and the rest with table service. I had the hibachi dinner with scallops and chicken. The food portions were large but tasted average and nothing to run back for. The service was poor as once the food was brought we never saw our server again and actually had to walk up to the cashier to get our bill.

Great food and great staff! We went for dinner and then had Jeep problems, so hit up the bar while waiting for AAA. The bartender was super friendly and quick with the drinks. They made a shitty night very bearable

Good quality service and very clean. Really good bar set up and very knowledge staffs. Had a really good time at the bar. Learned a lot about fish and culture. Hope this place be here forever! Highly recommended!!!

The best place ever! The food and service were great! My friend and me went there for her birthday, and we had a really great time there! We will definitely come back again! Great experience!

The food and service were great. We went for my birthday and valentine’s day (hibachi) and it could not be any better. Food quality and quantity was very good I would definitely recommend it. We will be back.

Often times we hear that a place is good. Other times we read that a place is good. Then comes the time when we try that place for ourselves, and in this case, I was glad that I did.
Mr. Sushi & Grill is located in a small plaza on busy Rte. 9 just across from Aldi and Buffalo Wild Wings. The interior décor is fresh and the ambiance casual. Service was prompt and professional, and there wasn’t much of a wait for the meals. I ordered dinner from the hibachi off of the menu, although I didn’t actually sit at the hibachi table (yet…). The steak was cooked to my requested liking (rare), while the vegetables and noodles were also on point. Everything that I consumed was very good, and I was able to take home quite a bit as the serving was large.
I am looking forward to dining here again and trying other menu items. Looks like I’ll have to come back at least a couple more times, as I’d like to enjoy the hibachi table with some friends or try some sushi for lunch.

Absolutely terrific spot for hibachi. I didn’t try the sushi but it looked great too. It is a perfect place to bring kids (we brought our almost 2 year old and he is still talking about it). The chef even gave him a balloon animal! It is definitely our new favorite hibachi restaurant in the area. Definitely check it out!

The one in Wappingers Falls is run by an idiot who doesn’t understand customer service. They sent around menus with a buy one get one free lunch coupon to try and get you to try them, but they don’t honor them when you get there. Their menu says dine in or take out. On the coupon it says one coupon per table… it DOES NOT say dine in only. I tried to explain that to them but they just looked at me with a stupid grin. I’ve worked in restaurants for years… the failure rate is phenomenal. It would have cost them nothing all things being equal, instead their refusal cost them bad will and I will never eat there. In this environment it is plain stupid to squander money trying to attract new customers when you piss off a few with poor customer service… they will be gone within a year. Dumb, dumb, dumb

My friend and I decided to go out for dinner but we’re looking for something new and a little different from the norm. We heard the commercial on the radio and decided to come here. Parking wasn’t bad even though the parking lot was packed (always a good sign) the ambiance is perfect from the second we walked in! Not to mention the menu was amazing. We ordered sushi and the flavor combination was delicious. The staff was very friendly and willing to help out. Will defiantly come back!
