Pizza was uncooked and like plain doe. got it home ice cold. Called for customer service. And all they could say was NO to any request to fix the problem. Never again… Ever

Pizzeria prices with great homemade Italian food! Have had pizza several times and it is always delicious. Last night we tried the restaurant for the first time. Was told the wait was about a half hour, so we decided to have a seat the small bar in the back. Great bartender! The hostess was so sweet, she came back to check on us twice and to give us updates that a table should be ready shortly. I mean, that is customer service at its finest! We were seated in less time than the expected wait. Ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an app. 6 mushrooms in the order, they were big and delicious! Had the grilled chicken and broccoli rabe, which was cooked perfectly! Do not be deterred by the crowd or the wait when you walk in, it is well worth it!

Went today for a quick bite with my husband. The place was bustling with tons of catering orders being picked up and also there was a party going on in the back party room. It was lively. We ordered a deep dish slice, a Marsala chicken slice and a rice ball. My husband paid and waited for the food. After the order was up, my husband noticed that they didn’t give a little ramekin of sauce with the rice ball, so he asked for it. They gave us a side and then charged us an additional 50 cents. That was SUCH a turnoff. How do you not get embarrassed as a business owner doing that? The good is that the Marsala chicken slice was really tender and delicious. I would recommend that anytime. The deep dish was also very good. The rice ball was crumbly and so-​so and it was a good thing we got the sauce. I was just really turned off at the petty charge for something that ANY other pizzeria would give you on the side of a rice ball. Just bad business. Next time charge me more for the rice ball and give me the sauce when I ask.

Very nice place. Much better than the Lake Grove location in regards to customer service. The food is fantastic and reasonable pricing. Really good food with authentic Italian taste. I went with some friends on a Friday night and the place was mobbed. The wait time was about 25 minutes but well worth it.
Very efficient staff. Great job. A well earned 5 stars from me and I am picky.

I ate there with four other people tonight. I have to say the service was poor and the restuarant was not even too busy. We ordered a Sicilian pizza and it came to our table faster then a few bowls of soup, fried calamari and a salad. The pizza which is supposed to be freshly made was luke warm. Normally a fresh Sicilian pizza has steam rising off its’ top and the cheese is stringy and running. Not this pie, as it was an obvious reheat which must of been laying around under the front counter. As far as the fried calamari, it was a huge disappointment. The rings of squid were huge and chewy. I would normally use squid this size for chum or bait. The soups were ok. I was surprised on how poor it was here today as a person who grew up on Umbertos in New Hyde Park.

Great service starts with filled glasses of water. Good bread basket and garlic knots. Wife enjoyed her cheese ravioli, mom enjoyed her Carbonara, and I loved the sausage parm hero. The Pizza is great here for lunch. Btw the Pizza at their New Hyde Park location is great too.

I just moved and my silverware is still packed in boxes. Thought I’d get some takeout after a long day of unpacking. Get home open my hero and find it hasn’t been cut. Is it a small issue? Yes, but it’s indicative of a rushing and apparently careless staff.

I regularly order pizza and pin wheels and they’re delicious. The buffalo chicken slices are to die for.
Tonight we had the seafood platter and baked clams and I can’t complain at all. The portion for one was enough for two I can’t imagine what the portion for two is! They serve bread and garlic knots with dinner.
Baked clams were lightly battered– perfect.
Seafood platter had an assortment of clams, muscles, half a lobster, calamari and shrimp. They serve it in red or white sauce– we had the red and it was delicious!

The service was terrible. The «hostess» had no clue what she was doing. It also took over 35 minutes for our order of penne alla vodka and two orders of baked ziti to arrive.

I forgot to mention when we ordered we were told 45 min to an hour for delivery. We called back 20 minutes later to add to order and was told our food was ready and they would hold it for us while they made the dish we just ordered. We send no please deliver what is ready now cause the add on was for someone who wasn’t home yet and we did not want the food sitting there. We said we pay the delivery charge and tip twice and she kept saying no they would come together. So we said forget it and had to call back and order the add on again. Pizza natzi !!! Bad attitude. We spent slot of money and are tipping and paying a double tip. Please!!! Very skimpy chicken Marsala …20 dollars for 2 pieces of chicken and a handful of mushrooms

Great for take out or dinning in. Some of the best pizza you can get, and probably the best grandma pie. Specialty items are pricey but worth it.

I have ordered take out from this place regularly. Their pizza is great, but my go to take out is the grilled chicken, broccoli rabe, and cherry pepper hero. The way they cook the rabe is perfection! Love it. They also make an outstanding pizzetta. My son LOVES it and the white version is amazing.
Tonight we decided to finally try the restaurant for the first time. We started with the calamari arrabbiata. It was delicious. I have never had it with olives and I was surprised to see them in there, but it was good. Not heavily breaded and nice crisp cherry peppers. We ate every bite. I ordered the chicken parm. Now usually in an Italian restaurant when you order an entrée you get a salad and a side of pasta. Here they give you either/​or. While it is not a big deal because the portions are large enough anyway, for the price they charge, I would expect both. Oh well. I had the caesar salad. It was just ok. I did however taste my hubby’s house salad and was experiencing a little salad envy. Great dressing and nice amount of ingredients. Next time.
My chicken parm was very good. It was a nice thick piece of chicken and it wasn’t over sauced or smothered in too much cheese. Really good, would definitely get again.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and has an old world charm. Our waiter was also very good. Didn’t hover, asked if we had questions before we ordered, and was also in sight if we needed him.
I have to add the piping hot garlic knots in the bread basket was a nice delicious touch. Will definitely be returning!

Solid Pie!
I only have 2 complaints.
#1 When you order garlic knots to go, they are cold, for they keep them in a box above the oven in individual bags so they are easy to grab when it gets busy. In doing so they are not piping hot and that is what I like when I eat my knots. If I pick up a pizza, I want to be able to eat a few knots on the car ride home and I can’t do that because they are cold and need to get heated up at home.
#2 I like my peperoni cut thinner and I like the bigger style peperoni on my pie. They use the smaller peperoni which is thicker and when it cooks, the edges of the peperoni fringe up, causing the peperoni to turn into a mini bowl, which holds all the oil and gets in the way of the business. I am not one of those types who soak up the oil with a napkin. I like a little oil on my pie, but by the time I eat 3 slices, I find myself picking off the peperoni and dumping the oil off to the side.

Best pizza around! Decent prices and they deliver. I have tried the regular pies, Sicilian and grandmas pies and all of them are delicious!
I haven’t tried the dinners but I am sure they are great too.
Highly recommended!

Service was impeccable. What a great little Wantagh gem! Linguine with clams was wonderful and their linguine with lobster, shrimp and clams was amazing! I would definitely come back if in the area.

I wasn’t sure what to expect as I eat regularly with people who cook authentic Italian. This place was great. I loved the chicken dish I ordered. No one was disappointed with their food. Will definitely be returning here.

The Perfect Pizzeria, what more can I say! Seriously, i wrote about Umbertos of New Hyde Park years ago, and still have full faith in them, and now get to enjoy its counterpart in Wantagh on a weekly basis.
There is NOTHING that is not excellent here. pizza, Pasta, Rolls, Speciality Pizzas, and Entrée’s are five star quality, for an average priced place.
I haven’t had anything I didn’t enjoy here, so, enjoy!

Love this place!!! Love the pizza but also love all the entrees! The chicken fiorentina. Chicken topped with prosciutto, spinach & mozzarella in light brown sauce is one of my favs. The chicken is tender & seasoned perfectly. Definitely enough for 2 meals!

I was a regular at New Hyde Park Umbertos, and have only been to Wantagh a few times. But I gotta admit they’ve hit home runs each time. One word, consistency… They do what they do every time regardless if they are slammed. Well managed staff. I’ve had several entrees, as well as several apps, and good variety of pizza and heroes.
My only rub is the separation of pizza dining and restaurant dining is not as Distinctly separated as in New Hyde Park. But I come for the food… And Umbertos Wantagh … You nail, it… every time.

I don’t care because it was fab from start to finish!
The staff was very friendly and seemed happy to be there even when I dumped my drink all over the table in typical dopey style. The manager even replaced it at no charge.
The bread basket had some delicious rustic bread and garlic knots that were perfect!
We started off with a hot antipasto assortment that had eggplant rollatine, baked clams, shrimp, stuffed pepper, stuffed mushroom, all good.
The salad with the walnuts and chicken was disappointing, the chicken was not grilled and there was way too much dressing.
We had shrimp fra diavlo which we asked them to put calamari in as well. It was good but not hot unless you eat one of the pieces of pepper that they put on top of the dish. We also had the sausage with the broccoli rabe and let me tell you, these were the all time best sausages that I have ever had!
As I’m writing this review, I’m feeling very very sorry that I let my friend take all of the leftovers.
Broccoli rabe and sausage on a garlic knot sounds wonderful right about now…
