Manager Chris? was SOOOO rude. Probably won’t come back because of him. Food was okay, but nothing special. Waitress was nice and food was quick.

The place looked nice overlooking the beach. When we ordered our drinks we said easy on the ice. I think after 4 sips the soda was done. The cup was full to the top with ice. No free refills of course. Then, the food. We ordered the thai shrimp and baked clams as appetizers and my dad ordered seafood bisque, which he said was good. The shrimp were tasty, that’s why it earned a star. The baked clams were mostly a mushy breading, they were not good. My younger son ordered plain pene pasta with butter($ 10, talk about markup!) My older son ordered lenguini with shrimp and scallops… it was dry and the scallops looked brown and rubbery. My parents ordered a paella($ 37!) It looked like a bowl of soup with red sauce and a little bit of rice. It looked gross. WAYOVERPRICED and I now have a stomach ache. …would never go again.

A very simple review based on a very simple midweek lunch. Singleton’s has a 5 star setting, 3 star food, and 1 star pricing. Menu the same for both lunch and dinner with very few«affordable» options. Everything my group sampled was acceptable but not really restaurant quality. That said, the setting is great and Singleton’s is worth a visit.

Worst service ever. Didn’t catch the waiter’s name(shaved head /tinted glasses). Didn’t know anything about the menu. Terrible attitude. Don’t come here… ever!

Would love to rate them on the food. However we never got a table. Was told on the phone for 7 would be 20 mins. Great! Got in the car and went. Got there 20 mins later and now was a 45 minute wait. Ok it’s Saturday. 1 ½ hours later no table. We had 3 kids and a pregnant lady and we were starving. After a shitty meal at the salsa shack and their restaurant in Bethpage I am done with Singletons and their shitty restaurants.

Lovely evening watching the sunset after a day at the beach. We had very reasonably priced salads topped with salmon and fairly priced beer and wine. The service was excellent. It’s not fine dining but the salmon was well-prepared, the setting magnificent, and we would definitely go back.

Extremely abhorrent service. Was left without food for an hour after putting our order during a slow late lunch. the manager Chris came to apologize we taught he will at least do something to show us he cared, guess what we got the check & they still changed us for everything. sodas… my wife asked for baked potatoes instead of French fries & they still charged us extra $ 1.80 for it! This place has no clue about service ! I suggest to the owners to retrain their manager Chris! I suggest to avoid such a negligent restaurant with expensive & ok food.

Staff was nice just make sure and walk with mosquito spray since being by the water. lanterns were lit but my hubby still got a few bites. Very kids friendly with a little park which my daughter enjoyed

This is excellent beach food. That said, it’s salty, mediocre, and overpriced, but the view is lovely and the staff very nice.

Beautiful night. The view was lovely but very noisy! The cocktails are strong and flavorless. Holy sour mix on the margaritas, I couldn’t even taste the mango flavor! Our meal was uneventful. Broiled Lobster tails were dry and salty. Shrimp cocktail was ok. The kids hamburger came with a kaiser type roll dry to the mouth. Take the drive to Pt. Look out for a good bite after a day at the beach with your family. It’s worth the trip!

This is a nice little place right on the bay at Tobay Beach.(You don’t have to pay for parking if you are going just to eat.) I’ve been here three times now and each time it has been just average. The atmosphere is what your really paying for, not the food. The menu has a lot of seafood options like lobster, crabcakes, and shrimp but there are a few non-seafood options as well. Today we had the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer(same as at HR Singletons in Hicksville), the Crabcake appetizer, and Chicken Milanese. The chicken entrée was fantastic but the chicken portion was very small. Most of the plate was a balsamic salad garnish, which also was good. It’s just a little pricey for what you are actually getting — quantity and quality. The service was great though and the location is nice because it’s right on Ocean Parkway. I would go here again, but I know what to expect.

Went here today for what was likely my 3rd visit. I think that a lot of the poor reviews are do to unfair expectations. I’m rating this place for what it is… Beach grub. The service was friendly, fast and pleasant and the food was way better than what you would expect to find on any other beach. The view of the bay from your table is definitely worth some portion of the overpriced cost of the meal but obviously I’d prefer larger portions and better quality. As far as advice on what to get, both the bang bang shrimp and the crab cake appetizer were reasonably priced and well-portioned and fairly delicious. Give it a try if you are not in the mood for a basket of sandy chicken tenders and fries.

Great view. We saw these great looking lobster tails being delivered to tables, so we tried them. Absolutely no flavor, it was a huge disappointment. What made it worse, were the mosquitos that seemed to be only attacking us. I found the wait staff to be friendly, but given the bad food, I am unlikely to be back.

Although I really like eating here, there appears to be some problem getting help to work there. On one of the hottest days of the year last week, and with a concert just down the road at Jones Beach, we made our way there. Upon arriving, was told there was an hour wait! But, the dining room is empty? «The Kitchen is backed up» we were told… what does that mean? This is not the first time. We have had slow service not due to the wait staff, but the LACK of wait staff. Singleton’s please wake up & figure it out.

The view is a 4. Beautiful bay with a beach in front. You are very close to the beach and it looks great.(I came after 4, so I did not pay the access fee to Tobay Beach.) But the food is overpriced and borderline bad. Like a 1 or less for the value. The location really is great, but the food not so much. I went on a Monday afternoon after visiting Robert Moses Beach.(Great beach by the way.) I was in search of an oyster bar and found this. First, we arrive and the hostess takes some time to seat us.(Perhaps she was the waitress.) Then our waiter tells us that there is no drink menu. Really. Seriously. You all have not taken the time to print out a drink menu. So he rattles off some drinks. I order a Corona to be safe. Then we order fish and chips, for $ 21, and oysters. The fish and chips are perfectly plain. Beer battered fish and fries. Not $ 21, Not $ 15, let’s try a $ 10 meal. Then another guest gets the complicated dish of Caesar Salad. WEHADTOSENDITBACK. THELETTUCEWASTOOLDANDTASTEDTERRIBLE. Wait a second, I want to make sure I get this for effect, a salad with romaine lettuce, caesar dressing went back because one of the two ingredients was old. That really says everything you need to know about the food. The problem is that they’ve got a great location. You can see folks play at the bay. It’s low water so kids can go out. The problem is the food sucks terribly. Like is criminally poor. So there you go. Great location to watch a bay with some food that’s bad and service that’s borderline offensive.(In fairness our server, though slower that slow than slower than slow, was a nice guy, whenever we did see him.) I would not recommend a second trip.

Most of the stars I am giving these two locations is for … Location. Twice we have spent the day on Jones Beach and swiftly drove down Ocean parkway to have an outdoor dinner or snack. Prices are a little high in the seafood side but not unexpected for a seasonal bay front restaurant. we only tried the raw bar selections which were fresh as expected. The staff however was not so perky and we were left constantly searching for our server. Whether the staff is inexperienced or just spread too thin on this visit we could not say. The Mexican side is more reasonably priced and has some excellent outdoor sofas and tables for lounging with friends. Excellent bar drinks. Thick mango margaritas and Craig the bartender even made me a Caiprahina even though he was unfamiliar with what it was. Shrimp fajitas were very decent quality. I give the guacamole and 3 out of 5 — could taste fresher and be thicker/chunkier. Under staffing was a problem again. Not enough bartender’s for a mid 80’s Saturday afternoon and they ran out of salsa for 20 mins or so, which, for a Mexican restaurant, is really pathetic. They had it back up pretty quick, I just found it odd. But I have also been to a Boston Market that ran out of chicken. so go figure. Aside from the servers at the bar being slammed. once you got their attention — no problems. Pleasant lunch over all Lastly … Finally a raw bar with an ocean view and outdoor seating ! You would think such a place would not be so scarce near Long Island beaches.

Clam bar quality plus beachfront location = upscale pricing. First, the location — Unilocal locates this many miles off the actual location. Just to be clear, Singleton’s Seafood shack and Singleton’s Salsa Shack are located side by side inside the ToBAY(Town of Oyster Bay) beach complex. It’s confusing to combine ratings for food, service, location, and ambiance into a single rating, specially when the location wins over everything else. This is essentially a super crowded clam bar, with 30 — 60 minutes of wait times for dinner. Seating is partially covered, and protected from seafront winds by glass walls. Ambiance is beachfront — shorts and shoes required, but otherwise as casual as it gets. However, prices are upscale. Estimate $ 30 on the low end, $ 60 if you order appetizer /entrée /drink, per person. Mixed drinks are on the watery side and $ 9 each. Fried platters and basic entrees are $ 25 or so. Lobster dishes are $ 35. Burgers are on the cheaper end at under $ 15. Quality of food is comparable to family restaurant chains — Mama whatever Italian restaurants. I’d rate it as a tad lower than mainstream chains like Chili’s or Red Lobster. They win points for not using fake lobster meat in lobster dishes, but that’s about it. Among the dishes we tried out — fries are cross-cut, fresh, but a little too oily. Calamari was nice, as good as it gets. Lobster Bisque was really nice. Fish and Chips was good. The burger was OK, a safe choice, not bad, not standing out in anything. Drinks, as already mentioned, were watery. As other reviewers mentioned — the charm is watching the water, and specially the sunset, as you have your dinner. May or may not try this place again — but if we do, it will be more for spending time with friends rather than the charm of the food.
