Great spot! We stopped for breakfast. I had the Denver sandwich-delicious, served hot! My husband had the farmers omelette-warm, abundant, and tasty! The service was great, they kept the coffee and water full. The place seemed recently remodeled, very clean. We will stop back for lunch or dinner sometime.

Great service, delicious food, friendly staff, great food for all four meals(although hamburger was medium well, not medium rare as ordered) and bathrooms were spotless. What more could you ask for?

Let me start out by saying my husband and I are tough critics. We are almost senior citizens and have eaten out many times during our lives. Maybe it’s just us, but we are wondering if anybody else remembers when food ordered out tasted like… food. Let’s start out with the excellent; there was a line waiting outside the doors and we were seated in less than 10 minutes. The good; the help was very pleasant. The okay, the eggs, the toast. The so-so, the pancakes(prepackaged mix and very bland), the glass of milk(not real cold). The bad; took a while to get service and the food. The horrible; the bacon, felt and tasted like it was deep fried three times and had a weird, strange taste and smell, seated at a table for two in the hall by the bathrooms(yummy thoughts!), the bus boy wiping the table behind us, dropped the rag on the floor, picked it up and continued to «clean» the table(more yummy thoughts). Is it just us, but is there a restaurant out there that cooks their bacon to order and has homemade pancakes? We are losing our taste for eating out. The prices go up and the food is starting to become unpalatable. Phew, thanks for listening, I needed that!

Very solid diner food, and pretty nice(although un-updated) atmosphere. Great prices, good food(although *can* taste the margarine they must prepare everything with in the breakfast items). I think they know their market, but the only thing that would make me a better customer is a little more«gourmet» upgrade — nothing major, but a facelift on the menu to keep up with the times. This may not be what their market wants, however. I noticed they had avocado as an option last time I was in there, stuff like that — omelets that have avocado, a quiche, slightly fancier sweet options. But the food(breakfast only, haven’t had other meals) is very solid and you can rely on it to be good every time. It seems like a lot of ‘lake people’ make it a stop on the weekends, rest of the crowd is townies. I do have one gripe — the smell of the bathroom deodorizer wafts through the dining room EVERY time i’m there. I think they need to figure that out because I forget about it and then smell it seriously every time i’m eating in there. Like the smell they spray in gas station bathrooms. Yuck.

I try to go Sammy’s on the Square whenever I am up this way. Prices are always reasonable, with more than adequate portions, service is good, and the food never disappoints. Last week I had an Avocado Benedict(split English muffin with ½ of an avocado on each slice topped with the poached eggs, and covered in homemade Hollandaise Sauce and chopped bacon. Yummy! Add those mouth watering hash browns, and you’re all set. This offering has a beautiful presentation and a flavor that I would expect from a fine dining establishment in Downtown Chicago(or Milwaukee) at 3Xs the price. Thank you for consistently delivering high quality, and at times even exceeding those expectations.

Omg this place was packed. They are remodeling to expand and they need to cuz they had quite the crowd. My gf and I read all the reviews and thought we’d check it out for ourselves. I can’t begin to tell you how much we agree with the reviews about this place. The food was AWESOME!!! Huge portions for the price and very delicious. I had the steal and eggs and the steak was cooked perfectly my gf had all meat omelette and it was so thick and delicious. We heard about the prime rib and decided we will come back tonight for that too!!! Two thumbs up.

Great prices. Great portions. Very good service. The food was entirely bland. I brought in a party of 13, and we shared freely. Enjoyed everything but the food. My meal was the Irish Eggs Benedict. I would like to try the omelette if I ever am back in the area and find myself at their tables again.

Food is exactly what you’d expect for any breakfast place, but for 30% less. It was twenty bucks for two breakfasts(with an upgrade to specialty pancakes), coffees, and tip.

We stopped in Sunday after noon. Caught the end of a lunch rush. Atmosphere wise it was loud, and seems cobbled together. They could use more room and it sounded like they will soon be getting it. We got the rueben and pizza burger for lunch. Both were very good and dint last long. The pizza burger was presented great and was a very generous size. Battered fries are the best.

I really like this place. Not trendy, just good food. Place was packed for Friday fish specials. They move them in and out without rushing you. Seems like people from the area come and catch up with each other. Would you believe the customer service I received? I have only been here once before and they gave me my favorite table. Sammy is so cute. He welcomes everyone in and there is something in his face that shows the pride he takes in his place. Yep, I like this place.

Good little diner with large portions. The people help make the place as they are genuinely nice. The servers and cooks willingly accommodate changes«can we have the Alaskan Waffle made with the meat waffle?» without any sign of annoyance. It was my daughter’s birthday and the server, who may have recognized us from prior visits, gave her a slice of pie to go. Nice break from the lakefront.

Quaint little restaurant with reasonable prices, good service, and huge portions! My wife got the chicken stir fry and she easily got two meals out of it!

Don’t let appearances fool you. Sammy’s is great little restaurant. My family and I ate here on a recent trip to Lake Geneva. We all enjoyed our dinner. The portions were large and soup or salad is included with the meal. The food is also very reasonably priced(we regretted not coming back to Sammy’s for breakfast the next day).

Prime Rib! Wow! Saturday night I took my family there for the first time, the hubby and I ordered the prime rib and the kids ordered the ribs. Phenomenal and delicious, cooked to perfection and it was huge, I could only eat half of mine– and it was only$ 13.99 and included the sides and desert. My kids loved the ribs and when they tried my steak their eyes lit up and said we are coming back. We will definitely be a regular on a Saturday night– worth the 45 minute drive for us. And the owners were there and were so sweet and nice. I can see why everyone loves it there.
