Walpole Mountain View Winery

I understand it takes years to get a winery up and running, and no doubt it takes long, hard work days to keep it going. With that in mind, I have no desire to give a negative review. However, I also have to be honest. My husband and I just completed touring the NH wine trail, we went to every winery and vineyard in the state since this summer. I believe Walpole Mountain View Winery has the most gorgeous setting of all the wineries we visited, but you can’t drink a view. I just don’t feel their wines are quite there yet. I am planning on visiting them again next spring. Hopefully I’ll be better pleased then. Also, their tasting experience is a bit different than other wineries. First they have you choose your tastings, but instead of pouring them for you one at a time, they pour them all at once and bring them to you in a separate tasting room. While they’re preparing your wines they have you watch a short video on their winery. It was a bit awkward and I hope when I next visit, I can skip the video.

Beautiful place, with rolling hills and great views. This winery will serve you 6 samples with cheese and crackers if you wish. The owner is knowledgeable and obviously quite passionate about the wine. Although it’s a tad off the beaten path, it’s still very close to Keene. I look forward to returning soon.
