This local bakery/antique business is a popular destination among our historic downtown full of antique and vintage shops. Highly recommended.

Fresh baked bread, sweets and homemade soups and sandwiches. I tried all four and it was amazing, fresh and tasty! Great service too!

If you’re traveling along I-80 and want a sweet treat from a sweet local bakery, Roberts Bakery is a must-try. It is two miles south of the Walnut/Antique City Drive exit on the main drag; very easy to get to. Like so many others, I make it to Walnut each year for the their annual Walnut Antique Show. And of course, I must stop into Roberts when I’m in town. Prices went up maybe a dime from my last visit, but for $ 1.45 their pecan Danish roll(photo posted) is worth every-single-penny. It’s melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Their selection of pastries is impressive; I’d love to try lunch sometime too. My experience was heightened this time around because of one of the friendly bakers. He explained how he’d moved down to Walnut from Fort Dodge to help his parents out with the bakery. He was personable, interested, and down to earth. These are the people I’m happy to give my business to: good folks. There’s seating inside and out. Come with a few bucks and grab a coffee and a roll, and enjoy.
