Ditto to everything in Charles S.‘s review. I mean, what is there to add on to that? Ha, well it did make for a good cheesy tourist photo, but I was more interested in the info on the plaque than anything else. It’s pretty awesome, the different stories they have to tell about the locals’ reaction/interaction with the Beatles. The park is also located right next to the Art + Culture froyo, Dark Side coffee shop, and Imagine art/gift shop.

Beatles Park contains a 20 foot wide by 10 foot tall sculpture that is a tribute to The Beatles surprise stop-over at the Walnut Ridge airport between their Dallas and New York concerts in 1964. The sculpture is made of heavy weight aluminum and has the Abbey Road album cover hand-etched in the metal. The work took metal artists Danny West over 500 man hours to etch. In addition to the actual album cover, West carved 50 to 60 other items in with his work. Next to the sculpture visitors will find a list of the items West added. As the sun or lighting changes, different images will appear, making it quite a challenge for visitors to locate the items. The work has life size silhouettes of the Fab Four, as they crossed Abbey Road in front of the huge panel. Look for the 15 foot long yellow submarine at the intersection of Main Street and Abbey Road … That’s where you turn. NOTE … S.W. Second Street was officially renamed Abbey Road, but Google maps or your GPS will not reflect the change.
