We were very excited to get our three boys a starter piano and when they mentioned that we can rent 12 months and decide if we want to keep or not sounded a great idea. However, we turned our paper work and we had filed bankruptcy over fours years and we had all the income to rent or make a purchase, they declined our application. What a waste of time.

I recently participated in a survey among pianists and teachers that included evaluating Steinway and Boston grands as well as an Essex studio upright. Because I am unable to post a link to my blog according to Unilocal terms of Agreement, I can just say that my recorded interview with Justin fleshed out his superior expertise about pianos from every important dimension and my sampling pianos on the floor proved to be the tour de force. These pianos were well-​voiced and regulated besides being gorgeous to behold. Therefore, I wouldn’t hesitate to send my students and colleagues to the Walnut Creek showroom to purchase a fine piano.

Steinway reached out to me to rectify the situation and was very responsive with scheduling and following up on me. I wished the transaction was like this the first time around. I do appreciate that they tried their best to make it right.

Very friendly helpful staff! They never push you to buy anything and are much more knowledgable than staff at the nearby music exchange. They sell only really Steinway, Boston, and Essex pianos (they are Steinway after all) but they have the same standard prices so no haggling! I didn’t buy a piano because I am just starting my search, but it is by far the best store I’ve visited so far!

After coming from another music store, I spotted Steinway & Sons and stopped by on a whim to check it out for the first time. I found the store to be a very open and comfortable atmosphere and I received a friendly greeting by the manager, Justin Levitt. I was pleasantly surprised at the outstanding customer service here, and Mr. Levitt was as personable as he was professional in helping me with my piano teaching inquiry :) He’s very genuine with his interest in addressing customer needs and a pleasure to work with!
