This place is now closed and the owner owes me money and has not paid. I have contacted him many times and he ignores me even though he has admitted he owes me money. It has been over 6 months.

Second To None is the worst business I have ever dealt with. The owner is arrogant and wierd. He did not show all of the items that I brought in for resale. He lost my paperwork in the computer and acted like it was my fault! Had to go home and bring in my copy before he would try to find the items that did not sell. He is unfriendly to the customers who come into the store, so why should they stay and buy. Not sure how he stays in business!!! Find some other way to sell your things!!!

Mark M. Don’t go into this place. The owner is not honest. After enjoying an exhibition of the Art of John Lennon a couple stores down, I wandered into this place. Mostly crappy things. I saw a «clearance» glass paperweight item and made an offer to the owner, who is a bit strange. We agreed on a big $ 8.00. It had been marked down from $ 20 to $ 10. I told him I needed to put money in my meter just outside. I did so and came right back in. To my dismay, he said he had just decided to «purchase» the paperweight himself and refused to sell it to me as we had agreed. He said he could sell it on line for more than I was going to pay for it so he «bought» it for the same $ 8 from whoever he claims the consigner was, so he could realize a profit. I told him I thought that was an unusual way to run a business. He agreed but said as justification of some sort that his shop was the oldest consignment shop in Walnut Creek. I told him I would never come in again and I won’t. Think about how this guy acted before you do business with him.

The first time I brought some items over for assignment I thought the owner’s mannerism was curt but did not think much of it. Then I returned two weeks ago with more items and called ahead of time to make sure he was available since I lives about 20 miles away. He said yes but when I got there, he was busy, and wanted me to leave the items. I understood that with retail one could be busy at any given time but I felt uncomfortable without a list of my items so I told him I would return in an hour. When I got back, the guy was rude from the get-go and would not even allow me to ask any question about the value of the items he would consign. By the time I asked the second question, he threw his arms up and told me that he would just give me the total at the end of the evaluation(there were about 12 items. It didn’t even make sense to me since he was placing a value on the computer as he went and just had to relate to me the figure). He proceeded to tell me that what I brought were not valuables and not worth his time! I was so taken aback by his condescending attitude that I decided to take everything back and not consign with him at all. When he retrieve my items, one of them was missing so that shows me his record keeping was questionable. I had consigned with two other bigger consignment stores and was treated professionally and courteously, and I assume I’m entitled to know the value of the items I’m consigning. I don’t recall I’d ever dealt with such a rude retail store owner and not sure how this guy stays in business. I definitely DONOT recommend anyone to consign with this store. That day stuck with me for quite a while!

Lots of breakable things(thankfully I did not break anything). I liked the selection of charms(although even sans chain, still a wee bit overpriced). Alas, one of them called a siren call to me… a hershey’s kiss-type charm, most excellent. 15 $ plus tax, ouch, but once in awhile an impulse is not a bad thing. Otherwise, not a lot here, you know dishes, some jewelry, a worker on the computer in the back trying to sell this stuff on line. They do consignment also, but I have not used it I can’t say how that works.

Mostly glass and china vintage collectibles. They have moved to a busy Locust Street location with convenient parking. Merchandise moves quickly – maybe because they have complete sets of things, complete collections. Items are well-priced. People who work there are helpful. It is a consignment shop for vintage items. it is clean, merchandise is well-displayed and rotated often to best viewing advantage. It probably appeals more to older, settled folks than younger. Antique dealers have been spotted here, too. So that says to me that they have good quality items. I have found it is best to make the purchase rather than take a chance, it might not be there in a couple more days.

Be careful on this business. Used them once for consignment and felt ripped off.

This place is what happens when too many grandmotherly types fall on hard times or don’t have family to leave their stuff to when they pass. It’s very estate sale leaning towards antique shop. I’m not a huge fan because I feel very bull in a china shop here. The guy at the register also has«hawk» eyes as I call them. Make you feel like you’re riffraff with your non-existent thieve’n ways. My mother loves to paroose this place, but alas, the prices are high and we have a large incidence of things magically *cough* breaking in our home. So window shopping it is.
