The best Vietnamese food in Walnut Creek. This place always has great food and good service. The turnaround is fast so you never wait long to get seated, even on busy days.

Decent phở place — a bit tucked away in Walnut Creek near all the automalls, where the parking situation can be a little weird. They give you big portions and big bowls, but its mostly plain noodles and broth. Very quick, clean, and simple. A bit TOO simple on the flavoring side. Its a place I might go to if I’m in the area(which has happened twice), but wouldn’t give it much thought otherwise.

TL;DR Cheap, huge portions, short wait. Everyone has their phở cravings every once in a while, and Kevin’s Noodle House satisfies these cravings wherever you are in the Bay Area. We decided to try the Walnut Creek location. It was pretty crowded on a Saturday afternoon but the wait wasn’t too long. The menu is exactly the same as the other locations. I ordered the phở bowl with well-done flank. It was ready in 5 minutes! The meat was deliciously tender and the noodles were hot and chewy. And the medium bowls are huge! The quality was exactly what I expected from Kevin’s Noodle House. Best of all, it was only $ 6.50 for a medium bowl. It isn’t a question of IF I’d go back to this place, but rather WHEN I’m going back.

It’s been over 2 yrs since I last came here and it was nice coming back to have some real good phở. I stick with the #12 Well-done brisket, simple as possible to go with beef broth. They could add just a little more slices of meat and add additional parking to get a 5 star from me. I use to come here for lunch when my office was located at the California Bldg so it was a convenient walk across the street. But now that I’m off Treat Blvd, driving is a must to get to this place and parking is ever so limited when you are with the 12pm lunch crowd.

I have my clinical rotation at John Muir Walnut Creek and one day after my shift I was really craving Vietnamese food so I looked this place up and decided to give it a try b/c the reviews for it looked so good. Normally when I come to Vietnamese restaurants I order phở, but I decided to try a rice plate and I was really happy I did. I ordered a grilled pork chop combo with shrimp cakes and Chinese sausage. I also added one egg roll to it. It was really good. The pork chop had good flavor and the Chinese sausage was so good I think that’s what I miss the most. What I didn’t like was the shrimp cakes. I’ve had shrimp cake a bunch of times at other viet restaurants and these weren’t good. They weren’t very crunch and jus tasted so bland. I also didn’t like how one egg roll on the side was $ 2. Just one! At other restaurants you can order like 4 for $ 5. This place is a little pricer with their food than other places but I will admit that that rice place was extremely good. The restaurant is also extremely clean too. I really appreciate clean Asian restaurants b/c a lot of the time they’re not the cleanest to be honest. Also the service was good here as well. Overall, good viet restaurant with authentic food. I will be back!

Ordered the beef stew with rice noodles #32 again. It’s unlikely anything I’ve had at other Phở restaurants. Very good full flavor with large pieces of beef. The dish also includes some fatty pieces of beef, which at first can be a slight negative but really adds to the whole flavor of the dish. The more I eat it the more it grows on me. Also love the option to get the wide rice noodles which offers a different texture and mixes up the normal phở experience. The fresh rolls and rice plates are also good. Service is very good and it’s fast. If they had more veggie options like a veggie phở I would give it 5 stars.

Don’t understand what’s the hype for this place… –chicken phở: the noodles are way too hard. The chicken meat and soup is very bland. –ordered the plum soda, not salty and sour at all. And the Canadian club soda is not a good match. –the place is clean tho People! This is gross and there are much better phở places out there.

Fresh hot broth, fresh great noodles, lots of bean sprouts, fresh white meat for the chicken, great friendly service. BUT: the portions are TINY for the prices! Lunch was $ 20 and I ordered a large chicken and shrimp rice noodle soup and a medium chicken rice booked soup! The amount of chicken in the large was generous, but only 2 shrimp and the amount of chicken in the medium was meager. The amount of rice noodles in both was stingy. I’m not interested in paying $ 20 for lunch and not getting a decent, fair portion. It’s clean, friendly, and what I got was very good, but, and I don’t want to sound snarky here, but I sometimes feel like I’m paying for their ipad ordering system. I’d prefer if they took the orders down on paper and I received a bit more food for my hard earned dollars. My humble opinion.

Nothing to write home about here. It was very busy when we went, as I’m sure it always is. It had the fast food vibe to it… Get in, sit down, eat fast and get out. Which we expected and I’m not faulting them for that. Overall the Phở I had was good and the beef and rice dish the girlfriend had she said was fine. It is an inexpensive and decent Phở spot which this world needs! I’d go back, but it’s not my favorite Phở spot of all time.

Good phở. .and for Walnut Creek I was suprised at how low the price was. I got a small bowl with hot tea and it was just over $ 7…the broth was a little sweeter than I prefer but the meat had better flavor than I usually get. .very nice..

The families favorite Phở in the area. Kevin’s is always busy but the service is very quick and efficient. Very friendly. Great place for some soup especially on a cold or rainy night.

Had another good experience at Kevin’s. I’d say the biggest improvement is how friendly they are now as compared to my first time there with my mom when I just moved here. The little lady and I had gone in different directions on the food last night. She got phở and I got shrimp and pork bun. Here’s my thoughts on their bun(which I’ve had three times now): they are reasonable generous with their meat portion size. They provided plenty of pork and the shrimp was cooked just right. The fiancé like really liked the shrimp, so I got her fake crab in return(bad deal for me, I know). Oh the things you do for love! The one knock I have with their bun is the quality of lettuce. I’d put it in the same league as Taco Bell. Listless. That night it was less that crisp. Noodles were cooked just right. I also ordered a hot Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. In retrospect, it’d be better to just order the one with ice because by the time the coffee seeps through, it’s barely warm. Nevertheless it was tasty. I’ll order it again. As long as the service remains at the same friendly level, we’ll continue to visit Kevin’s.

TL;DR: I’m really surprised at how bad my phở was. Maybe it was because I ordered number 22B, their chicken and shrimp phở, but the broth was like water. I couldn’t taste any spices at all and the noodles were overcooked. Parking is annoying, they really need more spaces for how packed they get! Our server gave us a table right away despite how busy the place was. We were asked immediately what we wanted to order when we sat down, assuming he meant drinks I told him 2 waters, but he stood there waiting so I finally said«can we have a few minutes before we order?» He smiled, said ok, and left. I got number 22b and was incredibly disappointed. The broth was flavorless and even adding sriracha and hoisin sauce it didn’t improve by much. My friend ordered their pork chop plate and it looked way better than what I got. Food was brought out fairly quickly, as was our drinks, but service didn’t exceed past taking our orders and bringing us our food. No one came to check up on us or refill our drinks. One bonus, however, was that our server asked if we wanted a split bill right at the beginning. The place is pretty clean as well. I normally have to wipe down my chop sticks, sauce bowl, and spoon at most phở places but their items were nice and clean. Price was very fair for a phở place as well. Overall, their food was such a let down that I don’t think I’ll be back. I mean, it is Walnut Creek so I don’t expect super authentic Asian food, but for such great ratings I’d expect at least ok broth. Nope!

We showed up at around 8:45PM on a Friday night after a tennis match at the Walnut Creek Round Hill Country Club. It was freezing, so after sitting outside for about 2.5 hours, a hot bowl of phở was definitely a great idea. We started off with an order of goi cuon, which was good & fresh. Most places pre-make their rolls so it tends to sit out & get a little dry & hard. The sauce is your average peanut sauce that you get at any other phở house. I’ve actually had take outs from them a number of times & always enjoyed everything I’ve ordered, especially their 3-color dessert. Although, I’ve never ordered their phở before. We each ordered the phở dac biet, but I asked to have mine with egg noodles instead – which came out fairly quick. The broth was a little on the salty side since it was the end of the night. They do have excellent service – so plus 1 star for that because most Vietnamese phở houses do not provide any service at all. Even though they were closing, we never felt rushed.

The only reason I can’t give 5 stars is because of the parking. Although there really isn’t anything that can be done for that issue. We have been here for lunch several times and you must arrive pretty early or late. Same with the dinner hour. My go to is the shrimp spring rolls that come with sides of peanut and fish sauces. You get 6 fairly good sized pieces. Then I never stray away from the chicken Phở. Being diabetic I order it with out the noodles. I get the small which is more than enough for me. Big chunks of chicken and and excellent broth is good for what ails you. It comes with a side of bean sprouts, sliced jalapeños, and herbs. On the condiment tray that separates the tables there are a variety of different hot sauces. This place is always very busy and the wait staff have it down pat, getting their dining patrons their meals in quick order.

We drove about 20 mins out of the way to get phở here and it was worth it. I have to say either you have good phở or average phở and this place is good. Broth was hot, noodles weren’t too soft or undercooked and they give you a pile of fresh bean sprouts with basil as well as cilantro. Service was efficient and wonderful. They should open a Phở Huynh Hiep 7 or 8 if there isn’t one already.

One of favorite phở restaurants, the staffs are all polite, sometime if they not busy the staffs would engage in a small chitchat with the customers. Fast food service and most important the foods are delicious. I love how there’s an outside patio and a wide space in the inside. Only the bad part is the parking space, I once left because there were no parking. This place filled up by the time it’s lunch and evening, I been here many times waited maybe seven minute before I got seated. Avoid the rush hours and you’ll be fine.

Kevin’s Noodle House is one of few places to get phở around this area, which makes it a popular destination for those phở cravings. Service: It’s very quick and efficient. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes to get a seat. The workers are all courteous. 4⁄5 Food: This review is for the phở. First off, their phở bowls are huge, so when you order medium, imagine you’re about to give a baby a bath. I’m a pretty tall person and I can barely finish the entire bowl, but it sure is satisfying. I normally order #2 special beef phở(or something like that). In my opinion, it is very average and standard. Having attended school in Stockton, which is filled with Vietnamese people, I’ve had my fair share of phở. They do not skimp on any of the ingredients, but I feel like the broth and ingredients are lacking in flavor. Overall, this place is good to satisfy those phở cravings, but there are definitely many other better phở places.

I’m usually never impressed with Vietnamese restaurants because I like to think my mom is the best chef and her cooking is way better than any restaurant’s cooking. However, this place has proven itself a worthy competition to my mom’s cooking. Arriving for dinner on a Sunday, my family of five waited a good 10 – 15 minutes for a table. Once we got our table, we immediately placed our order since we were all starving. I got the small Hu Tieu Nam Vang and a Guyabano shake w/pearl(yes, Nor Cal calls boba«pearl»). The waiter placed our order on an iPad, which is a first I’ve seen for a Vietnamese restaurant. We got our food shortly after and I digged into my Hu Tieu. The broth was super clear, same thing for the phở broth that my parents got. It’s very rare that Vietnamese noodle soup are made this clear and I believe it’s a sign that it’s healthier(less oily). The broth was super flavorful and the portion of meat and noodle was perfect. The small size was more than enough to fill me up and my tummy was very happy afterwards. My family all enjoyed their meal, too. This Vietnamese restaurant caters more to the Caucasian population so it is super clean and they speak English. The menu is very informative and easy to order off of. I definitely would recommend this place, especially if you’re craving phở or any type of Vietnamese noodles! Perfect for a chilly day in the Bay Area. And the pricing is very reasonable. Parking is quite spacious.

Every time I let my bf pick a place to eat he defaults to Kevin’s. Smh. I typically don’t mind since I can never get sick of Vietnamese food and who doesn’t enjoy a good bowl of phở? I love coming back to this place because the menu is vast, they are always consistent with the quality of food, service is good, quick and efficient, friendly and professional staff, the restaurant and restrooms are clean, and there is a parking lot in the rear. Even when the line is out the door we usually get a seat within 10 – 15 minutes. They have their shit down to a science which is pretty awesome. The waiters also take your orders on a iPad. Talk about embracing technology! Nice touch. I usually order the same thing every time I come. I get the meatball and tripei phở, rare steak on the side, with clear noodles, and extra onions. So freakin good!
