I first met Brian 15 years ago when I needed a lawyer to represent me regarding a domestic violence issue with an ex-​husband. My son was 3 at the time. Brian brilliantly handled my case with astute knowledge of the law and with compassion for me and my son. My son has special needs and unfortunately, his father tried many times for over a decade to not assist with the many complications from having such a child. Each time I needed Brian over the next 15 years for issues pertaining to custody, child support, passport issues, travelling issues and treatments, he was there. I trust him completely because he has NEVER let me down. He is honest, forthright, compassionate, intelligent, dependable and funny! He has a great way of putting a terrible situation into a logical mindset with a goal that is acceptable and attainable. Many times, I felt overwhelmed by the many times I’ve needed to go through the court process, but Brian made it manageable and gave me hope. Even though my son is now 18, due his special needs, there are still custody and financial issues and Brian, once again, is there with the knowledge of the specialty laws surrounding unusual circumstances and still giving sage advice on how to intelligently go forward. Suddenly embroiled in a nightmare of a divorce with unsavory and dishonest attorneys at every turn, Brian worked to repair the damage done by my unscrupulous and unethical previous attorneys and get my case back on track. Very professional and up front. He is very sharp and is detail oriented. He gets back to you in a timely manner and is quick in answering his emails. He is very accurate about his anticipated charges and does not try to rip you off. I actually live in Alameda County and was told to get an attorney in Alameda County but decided to go with him anyway because during the interview process with him, I was so impressed. I should have written this review about 9 years ago, but did Unilocal even exist then?!
I wanted an attorney that was not a total cutthroat, but was powerful and persistent with our case. Brian explains both the pros and cons of each step needed before a court date, and we were always prepared and felt included in our case.
So Brian Chase handled a very complicated custody battle for me, which took a very long time due to the other side lying, not showing up, etc. In the end it was very much worth it, as I won and my child is a PERFECT straight A-​student at a Christian High School!
One of the nicest things he has ever done was when my husband and I were going through a divorce that was taking over 2 years to finish. He gave us the name of a counselor and we went to see her to work out our problems. It was not a magical fix right away, but here we are 3 years from that time, and we are having another child and back together as a family, and better than ever. It was not the best experience, (what divorce is!) but with Brian there helping us both legally, and then also giving us his personal input/​references, he made all the difference in where we are as a family today!
