KV Great Cuts is just right. Walk-ins welcome and the staff is quick to help you out. Tom is quick, efficient, and a good cutter. I have tried several upscale salons, and Tom is better than all of them. If you are not looking for a shi –shi fancy pants expensive experience, this place will get the job done well!

I have taken both my daughters to get their hair cut here for about 2 years and we have always had fine experiences — totally what you’d expect for a cheap kids cut, but this past weekend was the end of our patronage of this place. We walked in and my daughter was quickly seated with a hairdresser I had never seen in there ready with her scissors to cut her hair. I explained what she wanted, and the woman went to work. About 5 minutes later, she called me over to inspect her work and it was clear that she didn’t understand what we were after(layers — nothing crazy — instead she had cut this bizarre U-shaped thing that my daughter will have to grow out before we can get it fixed), but without her taking a LOT of length off at that point, it was too late to have her fix it. She spent a few minutes semi-drying her hair(she hadn’t washed it, just sprayed it with water a few times) and, with her hair still damp, sent her on her way. Ok, not great, but for a $ 15 kids cut, whatever, right? WRONG! It ends up that KV Cuts considers anyone over 10 — TEN! — to be an adult and charged me the«Lady Haircut» rate for my 11 year old. Where oh where is TEN an adult? She can’t vote, she can’t drive, she can’t drink, but you think she’s an adult for hair cut purposes? And they didn’t do anything that you would expect for a «Lady Haircut» — it’s just an arbitrary age they have picked and really just a money grab. Anyway — we won’t be back. If 10 is your«adult» limit, it should be posted clearly — and you should be prepared to spend the time and energy that you would on an adult on anyone over that age — not a few spritzes with a spray bottle and a lazy effort at blow drying. More annoying to me was when I tried to ask about the age, they tried to laugh it off«oh, she’s not a little girl anymore! She big girl now!» Uh — no. She’s still a little girl, and that’s not the point. AND they didn’t ask me about her age until she was done with the bad-cut — in other words, she didn’t know she was doing a «lady cut» — so what did she do differently than if she thought she was 9? Nothing! There are other nice, skilled salons that charge about $ 20 – 25 for a child/tween cut and will get the look she wants so we are done with KV. Too bad — the parking is easy, but not worth the money for an uneven, unattractive cut.

Back again with another update. Done with this place. Not going back. One too many lazy, incomplete, uncaring haircuts. It’s not even that cheap-$ 25 with tip. One star for plentiful parking. This is California, after all.

There’s all the parking in the world because KV Great Cuts is located in Citrus Plaza. They accept walk-ins — I walked right in and there was no wait. A woman’s haircut is only about $ 25, which is in the ballpark of what I wanted to pay for a quick trim. They also carry the hair product that I’ve been searching high and low for!

I got a mens cut today from the guy with the mutton chops. He has cut my hair every month for over a year yet it always surprises me that he can never remember how I like it cut. This time, just like every time, I told him I want it rounded in the back. He says«you want square», «no round» I said. Of course he makes it square. Then after I look at it I noticed he didn’t listen. I told him I wanted it rounded off and he brings my hair line up over 1″. This place(guy) is so inconsistent. I won’t be going back!

Called before hand and asked if they did undercuts and they said yes. I went down to the place told then exactly what I wanted and they did the exact opposite. There is no undercut. Just a regular crew cut if even that.

I too was surprised and shocked to see the 1 star review. I don’t know where this guy went but I can’t believe it was KV Cuts. Cindy and Andy are the best. I’ve been going to them for everything from cuts to color to highlights and they are fabulous. My mother goes once a week for a cut and blow out. She also gets her color and perms done by Cindy and Andy. My sister gets her cuts there as well. Their prices are extremely reasonable and their service is outstanding. Christian was either somewhere else, high, or is just full of it. Maybe he is a competitor who is losing his business to KV Cuts because they are soooo much better than he.

I was surprised to see a 1 star review. I only tried this place because I got a coupon in the mail for a $ 8 haircut. I have to say, I was pretty impressed and have been back four time since. Haircuts are always consistent and even; the woman takes her time and always makes sure she understands what I want. After repeatedly bad experiences in Walnut Creek with SuperCuts, I have to say I am pretty pleased and don’t mind driving out of town to get my haircut here. I would seriously discourage anyone from going to SuperCuts — its all around a bad experience for a poor price. For the price and quality the last 4 times at KV I can’t complain.

I wish I could give them 0 Stars. Please read, I’m not a person to write back reviews, but you need to hear this story before you visit. I needed a hair cut because I have an important work event coming up and was looking for a new place, I saw they were only $ 15 bucks for a men’s hair cut and figured why not. I only need something simple, Bad Idea… When I entered it was empty. I should have known to leave, but it was late on Sunday so I figured maybe this is normal for the time. a guy there asked if I needed a cut and told me to have a seat in his chair. He had a coke nail, again bad sign… I told him what I wanted: My hair was pretty long and shaggy at the time and I told him I wanted the back cleaned up so I no longer had«wings» and the rest I gel straight back so it will been to be left long, but to take some off as well. I’m not sure what he heard, but he took way too much off the back and one side(yes ONE Side). let me out-line the problems here: — The sides were nowhere near even, I told him they didn’t look even and he asked«You want them even?» Um… is that a question I should have been asked? — I told him the one side didn’t look right after he «evened» them. He said«It will look fine in a week». WHAT!?! It will look fine in a week? I came to get my hair cut today to have it look good TODAY! and especially in 2 days when I am at my important event. Please do not go here If you want to know where to go and you are close to Walnut Creek here is the name of the place who fixed my hair and stayed late to do it. He was amazing and I will continue to go there: Str8 Edge Barbershop. Look it up, he is awesome!
