Dr. Gwilliam is my favorite dentist. To be honest, it wasn’t that much of a competition because he is the only dentist I have ever had. My parents found him when they moved to California and I started seeing him even before I had teeth. When I moved away for college, I booked my appointments for when I was home because I refused to find a new dentist. I credit Dr. Gwilliam with the fact that I have never had a cavity or any other major dental health issues. He referred me to both a fabulous orthodontist who straighten out my teeth nicely and a surgeon for when I needed my wisdom teeth pulled. One of the things that I didn’t realize until speaking with other people about their dentists, is that Dr. Gwilliam is unique in that he does most everything himself. He still has dental hygienists who do x-rays and such but I usually see him for most of my appointment, not just for a quick look around after someone else does all the work. Dr. Gwilliam always remembers things from my last appointment, both teeth related and personal, and asks very thoughtful questions. I sometimes wonder if he keeps a journal of information that he reads right before an appointment to refresh his memory. Regardless, it makes me feel much more comfortable and confident that he cares about my overall health, not just my teeth and gums. He also asks me questions when his hands aren’t in my mouth which I appreciate.
