After seeing a commercial about this place and finding it located in Walnut Creek I called and made an appointment; I have been a certified nursing assistant in the past and enjoyed it, and I’ve also worked as a volunteer with the Red Cross years ago reading to people in nursing homes. I filled out the application and stated that I had seen a commercial showing an Aide reading to people and/or helping with their pets… that is what I wanted to do; my days available would be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with hours from 9 to 3. The lady there said that they needed people for the weekends(only) and if I knew how to: cook, clean, iron, laundry…(nothing about reading and/or taking care of pets). I asked about Monday thru Wednesday but again was told only weekends and that they get people from the hospitals that need attention with regards to their homes. She said that she would have her supervisor get in touch with me(which never happened). I guess what I saw on television where people are read too(because they request it) doesn’t happen in Walnut Creek and/or Concord?! I guess there are no elderly people who have pets that need walking, cleaning or generally want to be talked to live in Walnut Creek and/or Concord?! And also, there are no elderly during the week that need someone to talk too… but, only the weekends. Perhaps the commercial on TV isn’t as truthful as it claims to be!
