I contacted chef Mona back in March 2014 for an event taking place in October 2014. I was able to get ahold of her via email(never answered my calls or returned messages I left) by April/May and confirmed my order. However when I reached out to try and pay and schedule the dessert pick up with her in August & September 2014 I never heard from her again. I tired for over a month which was extremely stressful since this was for a wedding. Needless to say she has no care for customer service and as a professional event planner I would never recommend her. It was a truly terrible experience.

I tried Chef Mona’s peanut butter and jelly macaron at the 2013 Eat Real Festival at Jack London. While I’m far from being a macaron connoisseur, I had to say that I wasn’t fully impressed by what I had. There was nothing wrong with the flavor(it was delicious), or the visual appeal of the macarons(seriously, the coloring and look of them were amazing at the booth). For me, it was the texture of the macaron. I found the filling to be a little too hard to my personal tastes. Since Chef Mona’s was our first stop at the Eat Real Festival, it may have simply been that they hadn’t had enough time to soften up from transport? I’m not sure. I would definitely be willing to give them another try, either by stumbling upon them at a farmer’s market or by ordering some, to see if my experience that day happened to be a fluke.

I cannot say enough about Chef Mona, everything she makes is just amazing! The macaroons she had at Eat Real were to die for. I am a member of her bread come and thanks to her every other Wednesday is a dream come true when I come home from work to find an amazing freshly made loaf of bread waiting for me. Her cake artistry is beyond compare and much more important than that her beautiful creations taste good… isn’ that the point of cake? I am having her do cakes in November and December for my childen’s birthday parties… I can’t wait. After Eat Real I am afraid the whole Bay Area has discovered what was a hidden gem, crossing my fingers she doesn’t get too busy to book but at the same time she deserves all the re

Magical macaroons were sold at Eat Real Festival. It was the last day of the festival and only 2pm but yet, she was sold out of everything except for the German Chocolate Cake. I was disappointed that I couldn’t taste the other flavors because her German Chocolate Cake Macaroon was the SHIZZLE to my FIZZLE! I asked Chef Mona, «Where are you located? And where can I buy your stuff?» But before she can answer, I picked up her card and it said ‘ChefMona.com’. I answered back«I guess no where since there’s no location on the biz card.» She told me she’s planning on setting up shop at local farmers market and that her goodies will become available to all soon. She even told me that she was extremely pleased and surprised that the public bought ALL her macaroons. My heart broke when she said she was sold out of everything! Well, I told her, her pastries were larger than the normal macaroons and the colors attracted me to them. I especially wanted to try the light blue one, which she named«Elvis Presley». DARNIT! I really wanted to buy that one. Chef Mona, I think you rock as a pastry chef… but more importantly… I LUST after your pastries now. Hubba hubba to your macaroons!!! They were puffy, light, lusty, sexy and flavorful.

Chef Mona is magical with her creations. She is more than the best new thing in this field. She has years of experience in the art of baking and pastries. Her time at Bouchon gave her the background to understand that baked goods are more than form — they should taste as good as they look. We eat with our eyes first and Mona embraces this. She will take your idea and create it before your eyes. I’ve seen her make a functional turntable, seasonal wonders and more. I can’t recommend her enough. She attentively listens to your requests and builds custom masterpieces. She also delivers and sets up the work to ensure that everything is to your liking. I’ve used her services multiple times and continue to tell friends, family and co-workers to do so as well. Chef Mona really should be on The Food Network with her talents.

Chef Mona is by far a very skillful, creative, and talented bakery chef. All you need to do is to tell her what you like(both design and flavor) and she will deliver it right to you. She made a fabulous cake for my friend’s baby shower, and every body was amazingly happy with taste and decorations. Mona is professional, friendly, and delivers to your specifics with no limitations. I have also tried her cookies and they are amazing as well. She would be the first bakery chef I would go to for all my occasions.
