My husband and i were in town to see a show… but most of the place near the theater didn’t seem appealing… we then walked up for bit and found this. I love philly cheese steak, they are reasonably priced and come in different lengths. The staff is nice and the shop is nice and clean. ANDTHEYHAVEDIETDR. PEPPER !!!(I don’t see in many soda fountains). I hit the spot, definitely coming back here or going to other of there locations.

I am a big cheesesteak fan. The BBQ bacon cheesesteak was hands down the best cheesesteak I’ve ever had. I’m already craving more. Everything was cooked to perfection. The poppers were also very good. Bravo!

So this place is going downhill. I’ve been visiting for the past 20 years and it isn’t the same. I called in an order for spinach and mushroom 10 inches. The girl on the phone said mushroom. I corrected her and slowly repeat Spinach and mushroom 10 inch twice. She said I got it and it will be ready in 10 mins. What happened when I went to pick it up? 10 inch mushroom only. I told her I ordered a SPINACH and mushroom 10 inch and she argued I didn’t. She didn’t even offer to fix the order. When she didn’t offer to correct the order, I told her I’m too hungry, paid for the wrong order, and left. This is not how you run a business. While I was there, another gentleman order a chicken phili cheesesteak and they gave him steak. The ticket even said chicken!!! What is going on???

You can’t go wrong with a cheese steak! This location is tidy, spacious and atypical inside, though their on-the-edge-of-downtown location makes parking a little dicey. Nevertheless, I was able to score a metered spot right in front in the middle of a week day, in the rain. Miracles do happen. :) I was trying to avoid the complete post-lunch crash back at the office, so I opted for their smallest sandwich, a 7″, the classic Philly Cheese(my only nitpick was sweet peppers only, hold the hot ones), and I made it a value meal with a drink and fried zucchini sticks, complete with a little cup o’ ranch I didn’t even have to ask for! That’s a pretty darn good lunch for $ 10 in this town! Ordering the small sandwich helped me be full without being stuffed, but the only downside is the bread to goodies ratio with the small sandwich is undesirable — too much bread, not enough goodies! The meat was tasty, although I would have enjoyed more cheese. But overall a yummy treat of a sammich, and the fried zuke was piping hot in a light airy beer-style batter! I would definitely return, though maybe not to this location on a weekday, just because parking is a gamble. But if you’re wandering downtown WC on foot, they’re a great cheap option.

1st time here and its great! I specially told the cashier that its my first time here and he took his time to tell me about the food and make sure what I will ordered will be what I wanted(in terms of size, ingredients, spice, etc.) The cashier recommended me to get the Philly Cheese Steak. — It was soo good! Too bad its so far. But I am definitely going to another Cheese Steak Shop near where I live

This place has been around forever and is mouthwateringly delicious. There are many different combos to choose from, picking and choosing meats(chicken or steak), veggies(onions, peppers, spinach, mushrooms,…), sauces(BBQ, garlic, …) and they are all delicious. Their garlic sauce is particularly delectable. Pro-tip: try the garlic fries, but ask for extra garlic sauce cuz that stuff is GOOD!

Wednesdays have special deals for sides and entrees. Came here with coworkers for lunch. FOOD — 4*** — I’m not a philly cheese steak sandwich fan, but the alternative options at this place are good. Ordered the guylic sandwich with spinach and mushroom. So yummy!!! 10 inch was enough for me to save half for dinner. Restaurant — 3*** — only one bathroom for all customers. Cleanliness is OK. SERVICE — 3*** — order at counter and pickup at counter. Food took about 5 – 10 minutes to be ready.

I have been coming here for years. Supposedly the bread is shipped daily. The meat is good and lean. I prefer onions on it with peppers on the side. This is my favorite hangover remedy.

The cheese steak is a chain throughout numerous cities. What I’ve found is that they are not very consistent throughout. The bread was soft and chewy as it should be. The meat… well, that fell short. This location, in particular, was extremely skimpy with the meat. The meat to bread ratio was way off. We also ordered some fries with garlic stuff on top. The garlic topping wasn’t very appealing to the eye but was quit flavorful. They also have the option to put that stuff in your cheesesteak. Service was fast. Food came out quick… the quality was unfortunately poor.

Went there with my friend because it was close to where we were. Spent around 30 bucks for 215″ and 2 orders of fries and a drink. Should have ordered a smaller sandwich because my sandwich was hella skimpy. Told the guy at the counter and he brushed me off saying everything was split evenly. My friends sandwich had twice the meat mine did. He then said my bun was cut deeper, yet he never even looked at my sandwich. I email the owner asking why my sandwich was so shitty and he said he was looking into it(over a week ago). I don’t think the owner gives a crap anyways. Oh well they won’t get anymore of my money. The sandwich being skimpy was a blessing because it wasnt a good sandwich. I barely ate half of the monstrosity and asked my friend if he wanted the rest or I was going to toss it. I’ve had Philly cheesesteaks all over the country including Philly… This was the worst ever. No meat, microscopic mushrooms and onions cooked down to nothing… After I left there I went to Babalou’s around the corner and had some good food. The whole night ended up costing me 45+ dollars. I don’t mind the 15 I spent at Babalou’s since it was actually good You people in walnut creek don’t know good food. I’ve been to several restaurants you people give good reviews too and they were all pretty crappy and flavorless. At least I know I can count on not counting on quality reviews from walnut creek.

Been eating here since they opened WAY back in the 80’s. Bought three BBQ steaks tonight with 2 sides of BBQ sauce. Completely watered down. A trick to save on food cost. I used to run a chain of hamburger joints and this is what I caught my managers doing. 28 bucks for that? Hopefully management catches on.

Outside of Philly PA, this chain of restaurants offers the best cheese steaks around! I have been frequenting the one in Walnut Creek since they opened in the ’80’s and they never let me down. I have also been to the ones in Concord and Lafayette and the consistency is always top notch. All of their menu selection(s) are great and even when ordering take-out, as the food is always wrapped securely and arrives home hot and delicious. I have found for faster service call ahead! My favs are the Mushroom cheese steak and the garlic cheese steak but ALL their cheese steaks are awesome. Lets face it; cheese and steak, what could be wrong with that? :-) They even offer a few selections for those vegetarians out there that wander in. The fries are really good and offer a large selection of appetizers. Other Hoagie selections are also good. The place is clean, neat and tidy. The staff is always friendly and polite. Parking is not great, but worth the walk if you must. Dining in is also enjoyable, but since the food is prepared upon order, it may take a few minutes to get it. But it’s worth the wait. Order a soda, grab a newspaper and relax. Soon enough you’ll be enjoying a delicious culinary delight! Have fun! :-)

Been visiting the Cheese Steak Shops for years. I always create my own masterpiece, which consist of chicken, pepperoni, mushrooms, grilled onions and peppers. so so good. Also, get the curly fries and dipped them in some cheese sauce.

Really amazing Philly cheese steaks. Ordered Togo ! But it’s a nice spot if you in the mood for a good Philly sandwich !! I have to prefer the mushroom, spinach, steak with curler fries and side of nacho cheese !! This place really has amazing cheese steaks feels like I’m in Philly when I’m eating them ! If you haven’t tried or done this b4 I would recommend getting the nacho Sauce and dipping your curly fries in it OMG it’s so delicious! And if you really want to you can dip your cheese steak in it too it’s not that bad to tell you the truth !!

I have been going to the Cheese Steak Shop since I was about 7 years old this is what I have to say: The Cheese Steak Shop chain consistently serves the best cheese steak shops around but what I love about this one is that it’s one of the *cleanest* ones that I’ve been to. Also, the cheese steaks are filled to the brim with steak unlike some other Cheese Steak Shops that I’ve frequented. If you don’t get a side, I suggest a 10″ but if you do get a side, I would get a 7″. My go-to order is the mushroom cheese steak with onions. I get the sweet and hot peppers on the side My favorite is to get it with the steak fries because I grew up getting it. The seasoned spiral fries also hit the spot.

I want to give the place 4 or 5 stars because I came here on Sunday and it was amazing! Literally the first cheesesteak I’ve had since moving to California, four years ago, that reminded me of Philadelphia, which is where I’m from. So pleased and so happy — good bread, cheese sauce, AND Tastykakes! I came back today(literally sitting in the restaurant) and am extremely angry and disappointed. Isn’t the customer always right? I should be able to be my cheesesteak the way I want, whether you think it’s «right» or not, right?! Well this middle-aged, white guy with a 5 o’clock shadow, a bad attitude, and a Phillies hat very rudely told me I couldn’t have cheese whiz on my sandwich, and«we don’t do that here»! Uhhhh, I definitely got my sandwich that way two days ago and it was pretty freaking good! I grew up in Pennsylvania, and went to Temple University in Philadelphia, I KNOWGOODCHEESESTEAKS! This pretentious dude telling me I could only get Provolone or American cheese really ticked me off. THAT’S NOT A TRADITIONALCHEESESTEAK! So I got my sandwich plain and had to put the cheese whiz on myself(yeah I’m serious!) It gets better — the dude proceeds to tell me that the«cheese sauce» isn’t actually«cheese whiz» and the quality is too poor to put on the sandwiches! Oh really, but it’s good enough quality for fries and whatnot? Seriously I’m disgusted all around! He continuously blamed this rule on the«owner» who is from Philadelphia. The owner is obviously a phony who has a severe hatred for the whiz. He moved to the Bay Area and is now spreading his idea of the ultimate cheesesteak to all of you. Just a heads up though, if you ever vacation in the Philly area don’t expect American cheese on your sandwich when you visit Geno’s, Pat’s, Jim’s, Delessandro’s or even Tony Luke’s. Tip to the douchey owner, sell quality products, drop the«my way or else» Philly attitude your still holding onto, and let the customer have what they want! I was super psyched about this place on Sunday, but after today I will definitely never go back here! EVER!

Haven’t had a cheesesteak in a while and from what I can remember I didn’t think they were what they were hyped up to be so my boyfriend and I decided to come here and I had the steak garlic and cheese with onions and hot peppers. We also got sides of the cheese wiz and curly fries. One word: AMAZING. I’m not a big meat eater but this was so delicious I want another one!
