This blockbuster has gone through a lot of changes in the past 8 months. A new store manager, relatively new crew, and even a new lay out. The customer service is improving, and the personalities of the crew are typically pretty awesome. A few of the employees seem to go out of their way to make you laugh or to make your visit a little more enjoyable. They’ll let you know if the movie you’re renting is crap, so you don’t feel pressured into renting. While the employees are young, keep in mind they work a crappy job for little money and they have nothing to do with the policies changing or your account. Some of them are actually in their late 20’s and will bend over backwards for you. You can save a lot of money in Blockbuster if you’re smart about it; stay off the wall, and if you go in even just a few times a year, get the Rewards program! You get free movies for the year and it has a pretty reasonable start up fee that pays for itself pretty quickly. All in all, Blockbuster is ran by corporate demons, but the crew in Walnut Creek at least make it fun to rent… most of the time: D The only real major downside is the fact the parking lot is pretty small and the store gets pretty crowded sometimes. Be patient with the employees and they’ll respond a lot better! I used to work in retail, so I’m sympathetic to them, and they’ve hooked me up a few times ;) All in all, what else do you expect from a movie rental place? At least it’s cheaper than going to the theater…

I like this place. I do not understand how people are so dissatisfied. I go here at least every other week and am always happy. Granted, I will admit that my husband and I watch a LOT of movies — and will eventually watch the bad ones too. So if the«blockbusters» are all out, we’ll settle for something else on the shelves(nobody ever lurks into the shelves). Anyway, the service is sort of inconsistent, but I don’t care — I’m in and out in 10 minutes. Rarely is the staff rude, but sometimes they are pretty«I only do what’s necessary 17 – 21 year-olds.» Other times I’m greeted with really friendly chatting and the willingness to look for Twizzlers in the back. Overall, this place does what it should as a video rental store and I’m happy it’s so nearby.

This is one of the worst Blockbuster locations that I have ever been to. It really frustrates me that even though I am entirely dissatisfied I continue to give them my business.(the blockbuster movies in the mail and then bring them back to the store deal is just too damn appealing to me) They always seem to be out of the new releases that I want to see, and when I walk in the they Yell(in a not so friendly manner) «HELLO» The computers always seem to be down and I have uncomfortably had to allow them to take imprints of my debit card a few times. If you have another movie rental option I do not recommend trying to fill that midnight craving for a movie here.

Eh… nothing special. I’m an independently owned video store guy myself. Yes, Blockbuster does seem to have tons of deals for free movies, and access passes and all that bollocks, but it doesn’t do any good if they don’t have any GOOD movies to rent. I’m always surprised how they will stock 50 copies of Gigli, yet their single copy of The Godfather has been out for seemingly forever. If you need a popular new release, chances are they’ll have it, but that seems to be Blockbuster’s only forte. Upsides: — Always tons of copies of popular new releases — Organized — Parking a lot easier since Kinkos moved. — Lenient late movie policy. Keep up to 7 days after due date, but get charged whole movie on credit card after… yikes. Downside: — Almost $ 5 to rent a movie?! — If it’s not a new release, and it’s good… chances are someone else has it, and they don’t plan on returning it any time soon. — Selection of Foreign, indy, and lesser-known titles lacking. — No adult section
