I am an adult in my 60’s learning piano for the first time. I have found Ivanna to be very patient and helpful as I struggle to learn the piano. I like her demeanor and feel comfortable with her even though I sometimes have a hard time putting it all together. I always show up early so I’ve also observed her teaching a 5 year old. She is very, very patient and equally as effective with children as she is with adults. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a piano teacher in the Walnut Creek area.

Miss Ivanna is a good piano teacher. My daughter, who is 5, has a smaller attention span while her mother attempts to sit with her and practice but Miss Ivanna is gentle, patient, and stern all at the same time. She conveys authority as any good teacher would to get her pupil’s attention & during those 30 minutes she definitely has my daughter’s attention! She also rewards with stickers for the little improvements my daughter makes each week which is something my child is very proud of when she opens her lesson book!:) I hope she will continue to enjoy learning how to play piano with Ivanna so she can have fun creating her own music! I can’t say I was surprised — not giving a damp about your clients is pretty usual practice for ex-​USSR, yet even businesses that are here act the same.
She asked me what is the best time for me. I told her that the best time is my lunch time, or evening, she can pick any time comfortable for her. She decided that we will have an short introductory! meeting Thursday at 12 45.
So, here’s how it went
1) I was searching for a voice couch. She asked me what is the best time for me, I replied that I’m available during my work’s lunch time. We agreed to meed today at 12:45
2) I knocked at front door at 12:46 (This is an apartment, not an office nor a studio)
3) When I walked in immediately her phone rang
4) She stayed on the line until 12 57 (Originally I hoped I would be done with introduction by 1 PM, and be on my way back to work)
5) Enough is enough, I left the building.
I can understand, everyone has his own problems to attend to, however if you set up a time, with a person who has to get back to work soon — that is unacceptable. I wouldn’t mind the same happening while I was warming up for a lesson or something, I would even understand if was a nice business lobby with coffee and soft chars. Instead she didn’t introduce herself, she didn’t offer me to sit down or something. I was just waiting in the apartment hall, standing.
Summary — she charges as a business, but quality is nowhere near business level, not even talking about «this is suppose to be a private lesson», There is also a very strong and horrible smell of something in her apartment, not sure what it was, maybe a perfume, but it was REALLY REALLY strong. 5 minutes in the hall made me wish for some fresh air. And standard «we don’t give a damn about our customers» thing. And as a great finale she left a voice mail stating something about that I did not show myself as a good person by showing my «temper».

Ivanna is an amazing teacher and a singer. She is a true professional and will make your voice shine at its best! You will get total control of your voice by following the right technique.
Her love for music and for her students is obvious. She makes students of any level or age feel comfortable and relaxed.
