Our entire family goes to Dr. Elder. Amazing doctor and staff. Very professional with all the most up to date equipment. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great practice.

Dr. Elder and all the staff in the office and the optical center are always so pleasant. They do a great job of explaining the benefits of my vision plan to me in an easy to understand way. The assistants are very thorough and patient. Dr. Elder is attentive to my questions and concerns and at times when I have had eye «emergencies», they have been very accommodating and helpful. I highly recommend them.

We’ve been going to Wallingford Eye Care for many years. Our appointments have usually been on time and if there is a delay, the staff keeps us up to date.
Dr. Sienko is always attentive and concerned about our vision and our family history with our vision.
We have also bought our glasses from the optical center and have had very good service there as well.

Nothing special. They claim to be in network with Anthem, however, they always charge full price without checking to see my coverage. Since Anthem is about a mile up the road from them and the second largest health insurance company in the country you would assume they would know their policies. The doctors are good but they don”t seem to care about the incompetence in the billing department. After 30 years we are bailing out.

Our first visit here was great! My young daughter was treated respectfully. It was a thorough exam as it was her first. Additional charges (not covered by my insurance) were made known to me RIGHT AWAY (so should not have any surprise bills).
Dr. Elder was great. He explained everything very clearly to me. I was able to ask all my questions, and Dr. Elder took extra time to make sure I had full understanding of what he was telling me. I did not feel rushed or that I was keeping him from something either. From reception to check out the office staff were friendly and helpful. At checkout I scheduled appointments for the rest of my family, with our busy schedule it took some time to find a suitable date, but the woman behind the desk was cheerful andhelpful and we worked it out. The office was clean throughout. The waiting room was comfortable and had age appropriate reading materials for my daughter and myself.

I’ve been seeing Doctor Sienko for over 25 years. i highly recommend him as he explains everything clearly concerning the eye exam. He also offers advice on using glasses etc. The eye glass side has tons of different styles also. The staff are all polite and knowledgeable. As others have stated all the equipment is up to date. Also a plus, plenty of parking. Also one time I was having an eye problem and got in quickly to see Doctor Elder and it turned out not to be as bad as I thought. He was good too and he tipped me to the MGM buffet in Las Vegas where I was going on vacation. Great tip. You even get good travel advice:)

The facilities are nice, new and clean, Dr. Elder and the staff are very friendly and professional. The selection of glasses and frames are probably the best in the area. I would not hesitate to recommend this office a well as Dr. Elder.

With moving to the area last year I’ve slowly been transitioning all of my Doctors to local ones to avoid 45 minute drives to the ones I’ve had for years. An eye exam and new glasses were in an order, so I found this location and based on reviews I figured it couldn’t hurt to give them ago, I’m glad I did!
The company itself is technologically advanced they email you all your paper work which I appreciated because this made for little to no wait when I came in. My exam was efficient. I loved that they talked about what they were doing and looking for while they were working with all their gadgets and what not. I never knew why they shoot air in your eyes or nearly poke your retina out with a laser, but I do now!
The optical department was especially friendly and helpful. They even fixed my favorite pair of glasses that I thought were goners at no cost. I’m so happy to have them back. They have a wide selection of frames but I will admit I was a bit disappointed they did not have Coach or Marc Jacobs I’m not a label queen by any stretch but they offer a lot of trendy plastic frames which I like because of my RX my lenses are thick and it just works with the thicker plastic frame. But I did find something that will work, so all in all I’m happy with the selection.
I foresee me coming here for years to come.

I have been going to Dr. Elder for about ¾ years. He is a fantastic eye doctor. He always takes the time to explain and answer all my questions. The staff is always attentive and welcoming. I can not recommend this office enough!

I am a patient of Dr. Sienko and have been for seven years. I have always been extremely pleased the care I received. When I first started going to this office I was a contact wearer. With Dr. Sienko’s guidance, I decided to have Lasik surgery. Although the surgery was not performed by him, all my pre and follow up appointments were done by Dr. Sienko.
I recently began bringing my son to Dr. Sienko as well. I continue to be extremely pleased with the care Wallingford Eye Care Center provides!

Right from the start the experience was excellent. As soon as I walked in I was warmly greeted. The person who did my eye diagnostic work was courteous, professional and thorough. Dr. Elder as always did a great job explaining my eye results. He is personable and willing to spend time with his patients. The entire staff is fantastic!

Couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant experience and thorough exam. Everything from initial call for appointment to simple check in (due to filling out paperwork online prior to visit) to exam to selecting glasses was as you would hope it would be.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Sienko for maybe 20 years if not more. He’s always been professional, friendly, and most of all, just a regular guy (I’d have a beer with him). He always remembers what we discussed the last time I was there, even if it was two years ago. I moved away from Wallingford in 1997, but have continued to drive from from my new town to his office because I’ve always been pleased with my experience with him and his staff. They always have the latest vision testing equipment, and Dr. Sienko always takes time to explain exactly what he finds and gives options to make sure I have choices. Prices may be a bit higher than chain optical places, but if you have decent insurance, the experience I’ve had is the reason I return year after year.

We bought some progressive glasses and at the time of purchase we were promised that if we did not like them we could return them. The glasses did not work. We tried to return them and were told they could not return them. So, I guess they just lied to us. Either way, I would never do business with someone who is unethical.

Best VSP provider selection of frames in the area w/​out a doubt. Even more choices on quality high end frames than other chain stores who didn’t support my plan.

Great appointment times, and friendly personnel. I would reccomend this place to others as a great place to go for an eye exam. They also have a wide array of optical choices in their optical department as well. I did not utilize the optical side as I have a friend who offers the same services. My eye exam was smooth, they also helped me look up insurance information in a very calm, helpful way. My other experience w medical offices is if that they are confused on your medical coverage, they don’t attempt to help, rather just bill you and let you figure it out with your insurance company. Wallingford Eye Care Center was just the opposite. I felt very comfortable going there and plan to continue my visits with them in the future.

If I could give this place no stars I would.
The staff is rude and 2 years in a row when I called to make an appointment I asked if my insurance was excepted and the answer was «yes»… both times.
Last year they told me AFTER I already had my exam that they did NOT in-​fact take my insuance. Then today, I decided to arrive a little early to pick out my glasses before my appointment– go figure, when I handed them my insurance card… they did not take it! I am beyond annoyed and pissed at this place!
