The donuts here are so fresh! They’re crispy on the outside and perfectly soft inside. I had the Boston crème and it was delicious. Perfect ratios of crème and chocolate. My boyfriend had the apple filled. Fried to perfection and rolled in cinnamon sugar. I can never go back to having DD donuts again.

Well it’s affirmative… Neil has THE best donuts I’ve ever had! My BF and I went here today and were blown away by the HUGE selection of fresh donuts, pastries, bagels, cookies, and pies. They have excellent coffee and the young ladies working the front are on the ball and super speedy! We tried their breakfast sandwiches on bagels and they were also very tasty. We tried glazed raspberry, lemon chocolate, blueberry crumb, Boston cream, Bavarian cream, French cruller, blackberry powdered, and key lime. The frosted French crullers we found were two sweet and too dry and the key lime was a bit too tart for our liking, but other than that, all the rest were excellent! We are so glad this yummy place is not located just around the corner from us… or we’d be in BIG trouble on the scale!!!

I happen to be in the area one day and was actually looking for a bakery. I loaded my Unilocal app and it lead me to Neil’s Donut Shop. Upon driving into the parking lot I noticed the lot was heavily congested. The shopfront didn’t impress me and when I entered I was actually overwhelmed! The selection is out of this world. I simply asked for 3 boxes of donuts and trusted the staff to fill up the boxes with goodies. I didn’t realize Neil’s was a BIG Deal! I got myself a Boston crème and a honey bun. Seriously this is one of the best donuts I have ever had. The dough was so moist and had the right amount of sponginess. The price was actually reasonable as the donuts are much bigger than DDs. To this day I dream everyday and cross my fingers that I will be assigned to the hospital in the area soon!

Best donuts you’ll ever eat– old school and large, these ARE your Dad’s donuts. Bring ‘em to work for the break room and your co-workers will love you! Be prepared to wait in line on weekend mornings but they do get u through fast.

These donuts are the grown-up equivalent of «SANTASCOMING!» Since starting at my new job, people kept telling me tales of «Neil’s Donuts days.» People would tell me with their jaws locked and their wide eyes full of wonder, delight, nervous anticipation that one day, when I least expect it… BOOM…the donuts will be here. I thought, yeah whatever, all donuts are good, right? Then it happened… BOOM…3 giants boxes appeared, an email was sent… and an addict was born! These bad boys are fresh, slightly crispy, stuffed for the Gods, dream pillows. I «sampled» the lemon filled donut stick, the jelly, the vanilla crème filled, and the lemon meringue pie donut. ALL amazing! All of the fillings were the perfect combination of sweet, tart, and fruity, and there was no skimping on the amount of fillings! The donuts get cut in half, and then filled, so there is no chance of a half filled donut. Genius. I would like to say that the next time these beauties show up, I would be able to resist them, as I obviously overindulged in my first experience. But alas, life is short, and I deserve to be happy, and happiness is Neil’s Donuts. I added my financial contribution towards the next Neil’s Donuts day, and I will pray it doesn’t come too soon, and that it isn’t too far off in the future.

I actually ordered 60 donuts for my daughters first birthday party,(over the top, I know) and they were a huge hit! We had a brunch menu set up, and we made sure guests went home with some extra treats. They included an awesome assortment and everything was delicious. I was also surprised at the price. Such a great deal! They beat Dunkin Donuts on price, and obviously, taste!

This was our first visit and we only got to try the donuts, although we noted cookies, muffins and cakes among other home baked offerings. The donuts here are appreciably bigger(and heavier) than most places(our box of one dozen was literally twice the size of a dozen box at some other joints!), and the filled varieties were notable for being sliced open and a layer of jelly or cream deposited, as against the more traditional practice of inserting filling from a pastry bag while leaving the doughnut intact. Among the flavors we tried were chocolate chocolate, jelly filled, Bavarian and Boston cremes, apple and«key lime»(which appeared to really be lemon!). There was a steady line of customers crowding their small space which assures freshness, but also means we didn’t feel we could linger to eat at one of the two small tables or browse, but we do plan to return.

I would rather wait the few minutes in line here than at the drive thru at D&D. Line moves fast and donuts are AMAZING!!! Usually get donuts and breakfast sandwich(which is also great and fresh). Coffee is not great but can overlook that because everything else is just that good.

How much could I write about a donut shop? Best donuts around hands down. It gets busy, but they always have plenty of staff moving the line along quickly.

There is absolutely no sane reason to go anywhere else but Neil’s if you live within a 40 mile radius. Fortunately I live much closer. This place has the true, delicious donut figured out beautifully. I devoured the apple-filled cinnamon and saved the chocolate cake donut for second breakfast. What a treat! Please don’t change anything!!!

I’m not even sure if I have the words to describe just how good these donuts are. But I’m convinced that they are a slice of heaven on earth. I start to drool when ever I even think about this place. I don’t know why anyone would even waste their time going to Dunkin Donuts when you can just go to Neil’s. The cream filled donut is my go to, but if there is a key lime donut in the case… all bets are off! No mater what you order you can’t go wrong. But you will go wrong if you pass up an opportunity to visit Neil’s Donuts.

My dad goes golfing in the area on Sunday mornings a few times a month and he always picks up some Neil’s donuts and treats on the way home. By 10AM it sometimes tends to be a little picked over but no matter what you try, all the donuts are always delicious. Always fresh and sweet. If you wrap them up well, they even taste good the next day, and not stale. Definitely worth a visit here if you can get up early enough to get them :)

Don’t eat another crappy donut again. Go to Neil’s and do it right. Always fresh, these donuts come in a raised/soft variety(rolled in granulated cinnamon or sugar), cake(like glazed blueberry or chocolate), or filled(the Boston Crème will bring tears of joy to your eyes). The fresh bagels are also the best anywhere around. The breakfast sandwiches are hefty — I’m partial to an egg & cheese on a pumpernickel bagel.

I heard how good Neil’s was and decided to bring some to my coworkers. Every single person who ate one was obsessed. I’ll admit I’m not even a huge donut fan but these donuts are the best I’ve ever had.

The donuts are definitely delicious! I tried getting here as early as possible one morning for a good selection. But I always seem to come too late! However, I cannot complain because the donuts are quite good no matter what kind you get. Very fresh & a much better alternative to a place like dunkin donuts. You know you have good donuts when all that donut grease leaks through the box(this is not a complaint but genuine praise)…yum!

Real deal doughnuts! Neal’s rocks. There’s a reason for the excellent reviews. After having doughnuts from here, you’ll realize how inferior other doughnuts are. These doughnuts are fresh, flavorful and have a really good texture. Your best bet here is to try a bunch of different doughnuts. Coffee is good… and so are the bagels. Everything is fresh. It can get busy here, so plan accordingly. It’s not a huge shop, so I can see how items sell out on occasion. The staff is friendly and does a great job taking your order and ringing you out in a timely manner.

I’m actually almost at a loss for words when it comes to how to describe just how Incredible this place is. I went on a Saturday morning but was helped quickly, despite the crowd. Within moments of eating back in the car, I was covered in sugar after stuffing two of these donuts in my face as fast as I could. They are UNBELIEVABLE. I feel like all other donuts I’ve had up until this point have been a lie, a mockery of real donuts. We tried a honey bun that was so soft and gooey it just melted in your mouth. Did I mention it was the size of a dinner plate? Because it was… a fluffy pastry, covered in icing and cinnamon. Best I’ve ever had… I believe they call them coffee rolls. Also absolutely delicious: the Bavarian cream. Light, fluffy inside, slightly crunchy exterior covered in confectioners sugar. They best part is that they cut the donut in half to fill it instead of injecting it. That puts in a big heaping layer of cream. It’s just the right about of sweet. None of that chemical taste you sometimes get in a cream filled dunkin donuts donut. It’s pure goodness. Fresh, fresh, fresh. Lastly we tried a chocolate glazed French crueler. This was also good, but not my favorite of the three. I will gladly make the half hour drive to Neil’s just for donuts in the future. It’s that good. Well worth it… if you haven’t tried it, get there!

My girlfriend and I drove up from the Connecticut coast to the woodsy borderland between Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We needed some fuel for the journey, and the internet brought us to Wallingford for Neil’s donuts. Unfortunately they were out of their most popular donut, the jelly, by the time we reached Neil’s in the afternoon. It’s always a good sign though, when a donut shop has enough demand to 86 their best by that time. We got a dozen donuts for her dad, and I got some Italian leaf cookies and two giant chocolate chip cookies sandwiching a couple inches of pure buttercream. Man, some folks up at her parents in Winchendon, MA said they were the best donuts they ever had. The chocolate cream donut in particular was intense, the cream at the peak of sweetness and light enough that it was possible to eat two over the course of a couple hours. The Italian leaf cookies were up to the standard of the best. My buttercream cookie sandwich was ridiculous. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
